The Hillside House located 8 miles from west entrance to Glacier National Park

Hillside House is a bright, airy, and cheerful home located on 8 wooded acres and close to open meadows. The highway to Glacier Park less than two miles away via paved county road so you can enjoy Montana's quiet tranquility after a day of exploring. The home features a large kitchen/dining area, a living room with a gas fireplace, and a master suite with a large walk-in shower. There is a second bedroom with a queen bed and desk and the third bedroom features a bunk bed, XL single on the top and queen size on the bottom. The main bathroom has a shower and there is a powder room located off the laundry.

For the first time in serveral years, the Hillside House will be available for rent by the month from October through May. Take that break you have always dreamed of and spend a few months, or the whole winter, enmeshed in the tranquility of a Montana winter. Please send us an inquiry if interested in pursuing.

Very hospitable, had all the dishes and coffee and firewood we would need including condiments as well which helped a ton during our stay. Beautiful property, secluded, trails you can walk. Would 100% stay here again.

Absolutely perfect base for exploring Glacier National Park—just 15 minutes from the West Entrance! After long days of hiking, we loved coming back to cook supper in the well-equipped kitchen. Evenings were spent enjoying the closet full of board games and gathering around the bonfire. Our host was responsive, thoughtful, and made check-in seamless. The house was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed. We’d happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Glacier!

We had a great stay! The location was ideal for our visit to Glacier National Park and Whitefish, and the house lives up to its stellar reviews. It’s clear that the owners have great attention to detail. The house had everything we needed plus some extras that showed their thoughtfulness (a starter stick of butter—so nice to have for a short stay!).

Perfectly Homey

This was one of the best experiences we had staying at a Vrbo house. The house was beautiful and spacious. It was a great location to the national park. The host Kate was very good at communicating. We will recommend this house to anyone who goes to Glacier!

Family trip end of May

The Hillside House was our home away from home for 5 days, 4 nights at the end of May. It had everything we needed and was close to the parks. The seclusion was delightful. We are so thankful to fit our family of 5 with plenty of room for everyone. Our 3 kids are now adults and we enjoyed our time together. Kate was very friendly and accommodating. Excellent place to stay!

Fantastic stay

Beautiful Home

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hilltop home in Martin City. The house is beautiful and well maintained. It is also in a great location for visiting Glacier National Park.

Great house in an amazing location

The property and house were beautiful and had everything we could need. Just eight miles outside of the west entrance of Glacier National Park, it was a great home base for visiting the park for a few days. Kate was a great host and had lots of recommendations for us. Would definitely stay again!

Wonderful Home Near Glacier

Great home in the woods after each day of hiking in GNP. The deck was a our relaxing spot before dinner. Kate was a great host & provided everything! Would highly recommend this home!

Location, location, location!

This is a very nice home just a short drive to the park. Kate is very responsive and available for any questions you might have. Well stocked kitchen and plenty of soaps, detergents, towels. We even saw a herd of elk nearby! We definitely recommend this place! Thanks Kate!

Perfect spot for our group!

We stayed for Memorial Day 2024 with 6 adults and 1 infant. It was the perfect space for us to enjoy the weekend. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces were lovely and well kept. It was nice to be able to explore the property and watch hummingbirds. The proximity to the park was very convenient. Host was very communicative. We would definitely book this place for a small group again!

Hillside House near Glacier

This house was a perfect stay for our family trip to Glacier. The house looked exactly as pictured. We loved sitting on the deck enjoying the quiet mornings and evenings. Even saw a doe and fawn and a hen turkey with her babies. The host, Kate, kept us well informed of the wildfires nearby.

We so enjoyed our stay here! Kate was great! We had a small issue with the refrigerator when we first arrived and it was attended to right away.We appreciated the bear spray and cooler that were already in the house, as we did not have to purchase them ourselves. The house was immaculate well organized, and full of extra touches. Lots of memories made here!

Absolutely what the doctor ordered!

If you're looking for peace and tranquility yet being only a few minutes from town or Glacier National Park, this is the place! The kitchen had everything I could have possibly needed to prepare meals. The living room was ultra comfortable. My bedroom was perfect! Cleanliness was top-notch! There's also great outdoor seating areas (I'm a big fan) surrounded by huge pine trees. I spent a disproportionate amount of time sitting outside!! Kate, the host, was wonderful from the get-go. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone I know!

Great Glacier Vacation

The home had everything a traveler could possibly need. The kitchen was fully stocked, coffee, tea condiments, spices. Even had 1 bedroom set up with toys to keep a child entertained. Now let’s talk about location, literally 8 miles from the West Glacier entrance, doesn’t get much better than that. I could go on and on, bear spray, whistles, coolers, ice packs for the cooler, more linens than you could ever use, great stove, coffee maker, dishwasher and all top of the line appliances. A nice big screen TV to relax at the end of a busy day. Over the top in every way.

Spotted a bear

Hands down the best property I’ve ever rented. Property just as described, only better. Perfect proximity to Glacier National park, with plenty of restaurants and grocery very close. All basics you could possibly want and then some. Owners very easy to communicate with and very friendly. Beautiful yard and property. First evening there, a bear was wandering out of the woods. Exciting for us! Saw dear every day and evening. Place was so clean and beautifully decorated. Plenty of books and games too. Beds very comfortable which is always important. I would definitely recommend for anyone planning to stay in this area!

Well-stocked, very clean and adorable little place

This house was so well-equipped with everything we needed. The host really goes above and beyond to provide such nice little touches for her renters, right down to little travel-size make-up removers in the bathrooms! Didn’t have to worry about things like toilet paper, paper towels, coffee, soaps, etc. Everything was on hand! Very cute, cozy and clean little place. We even picked and ate some huckleberries from the yard! The days of our stay were so jampacked with hiking that I only wish we had more time to enjoy this sweet space we rented! Perfect for our Glacier National Park Adventure!

My husband and I stayed here for a week for our Glacier National Park honeymoon. This house was absolutely wonderful! The location was perfect -15-20 min from the park entrance and close to restaurants and shops in Columbia Falls and Kalispell. The house itself was clean and cozy. My husband and I enjoyed making breakfast together in the morning in the kitchen and using the fire pit for s'mores and stargazing at night. Kate was an absolutely stellar host! She left champagne and chocolates for my husband and I to find in the fridge upon our arrival, as well as huckleberry pastries to munch on throughout the week. She always responded quickly and gave us great recommendations for restaurants. She even sent us a quick message to let us know that the northern lights were visible one night of our stay. We had an amazing experience and can't recommend this place enough!

Wonderful stay for Glacier National Park Trip

We just got home from a perfect week spent exploring Glacier National Park with our good friends. The four of us stayed at the Hillside House which is a very easy 15 minute drive from the west entrance to the park. The Hillside House provided EVERYTHING you need for a comfortable stay. The house is immaculately clean and comfortable. Our hosts provided everything you could possibly need right down to newspaper and kindling for making fires in the outside fire pit. Our favorite thing to do after a day of hiking was to light the gas fire and relax in the massage chairs. The beds and bedding were very comfortable so we had no problem at all unwinding and relaxing before the nexts days hike. I highly recommend this house to anyone traveling to the Glacier National Park area. We were a party of four 60+ year old hikers but the house would be equally perfect for families with young children as there are plenty of toys in the bunk room and a large, beautiful yard to play in too.

Great experience and amazing host.

We loved staying at the Hill house in Martin City. It is a great property and well taken care of. Beautiful setting, quiet, and clean. The proximity to Glacier NP is so convenient. I could go on and on about the house. It is definitely a 5/5. Beyond that, we can’t thank our host, Kate, enough. She took care of all that you’d expect and more. Our battery died in the Glacier and she was nice enough to shuttle our family from the park to the house (twice due to size of vehicle) even making a stop for us to pick up food. We can’t say enough about her and her family. Wonderful people. If you’re looking for caring people to host your family vacation, this booking/property for you. When we return, we won’t stay anywhere else.
