Hillside Haven ★ Rustic Cozy Cabin Nestled In Woods
Summary: ★ DELIGHTFUL DISCOUNT (If You Book 30 Days or More!) ★ STERILIZED with MAXIMUM STRENGTH BLEACH ★ ISOLATED IN THE WOODS for SOCIAL DISTANCING ★ 100% SELF CHECK IN w/ SMARTLOCK — No Keys!
Filled with natural light and rustic warmth — this remote mountain cabin is perfect for staycations, work from "home" or trendy social distancing.
The Space: Escape the noise in this "soul-soothing" oasis with freshly renovated upgrades. Soaring vaulted ceilings, luxury hardwood floors, dual brew coffee maker, lightning fast fiber optic internet, and 4K Smart TV's in living room and master bedroom for entertainment on demand.
The cabin is just a whisper away from the sun-soaked Tennessee River — with beautiful views peeking through the lush canopy of ancient oaks and maple.
This quiet sanctuary is fairly isolated on a rugged road with miles of dreamy forest winding along the river. We affectionately call it the "Rocky Road" — and although we're still looking for the chocolate, the bumps along the way are simply part of the magic :)
As new friends, we wish you a beautiful stay filled with magical moments.
Guest Access: Enjoy exclusive, private access to the entire space. No other guests will be present, so you can simply relax and unwind in your home away from home.
Check-in is easy and convenient with our touchscreen smartlock (no human interaction!).
The Neighborhood: Hillside Haven is nestled on 3.5 acres of lush woodland bordering Prentice Cooper State Forest — only 30 minutes to downtown Chattanooga.
Getting Around: The cabin is fairly remote, so Uber or Lyft are likely unavailable. There is no public transportation that we know of (unless, of course, you spot a beaver with a paddle). We highly recommend arriving with a full tank of gas :)
Other Things to Note: "Can you give me a discount?"
I'm happy to offer a 10% discount for weekly stays and 20% discount for monthly stays. You can also save 10% by choosing the non-refundable option when booking.
"Do you have reliable Internet & WiFi?"
Yes, we have lightning-fast fiber optic internet and WiFi, in fact, we're known for some of the fastest internet in the U.S., which we're very proud of :)
"Is there a pet fee? Weight or breed restrictions?"
Yes, we require a pet fee for furry friend (dogs only, no cats). If the platform allows you to select that you’re bringing a pet, please choose that option when booking and the pet fee will be added to your pricing breakdown. You’ll be able to see the exact fee before confirming your booking.
We have no weight or breed restrictions. Pet fees are due when making your reservation. A single pet fee allows up to 2 dogs during your stay. Pets must be respectful of the space and must not damage the home in any way.
"What's the monthly rate? Can I lease month to month?"
If there's a full month available with no existing bookings, you're welcome to select the dates and the app will show you the pricing breakdown for your date range. We've had many guests book 30+ nights and we do offer a large 20% discount for monthly bookings. Also, for your safety and convenience, we only book through this platform (no traditional leases or "under the table" agreements). If the dates are available, you're welcome to book multiple months and the app will charge you once a month (the same rhythm as a traditional lease).
"Is there a firepit?"
Yes! There is a fire pit in the front yard of the cabin. Guests typically bring their own firewood and accessories :)
"Is there a grill? Is it propane or charcoal?"
There is a small charcoal grill on the front porch, however our guests bring their own charcoal and lighter.
"Where is the nearest gas station?"
There are at least 4-5 gas stations not far away (roughly 13 miles) on Hwy 27 (Signal Mountain Rd) by the Walmart, Burger King, Food City, etc.
"Is there a Starbucks in town?"
Yes! There's a brand new Starbucks 13.1 miles from the cabin near the Walmart on Signal Mountain Rd. Grab a latte (or two) on your way in :)
“What’s the minimum age requirement for booking?”
Our minimum age required to book is 18.
"Is there a grocery store near the cabin?"
I recommend the Walmart Supercenter on Signal Mountain Rd, you should pass it on your way in :) I'd say it's about 20 minutes, roughly.
“Do you offer payment plans?”
By default, full payment is required to confirm your reservation. We can’t control payment plans on our end, but in the unlikely event that one is available, you will see the option when booking.
"Are there hiking trails nearby?"
Yes, as you drive in you’ll see a variety of gravel parking areas, these usually designate walking or hiking trails :)
"Does the cabin have good views of the lake/mountains?"
The cabin is only about 2000 feet from the water but you can’t see it directly, even so, all our guests love the nature Mountain Views :) It’s only a 1-2 minute drive to our local community boat launch with access to the river.
"A couple other people will be joining us, do you need their names?"
Nope, we only need your name as the person booking the stay :)
"Can you give me a breakdown of the prices? Nightly rate, cleaning fee, etc?" Whether you book on a computer or phone, you will see a very detailed breakdown of everything before and during the booking process. The easiest way to see these details is to start making your reservation.
"I was wondering if you think this house will sleep 6 people well enough?"
Easily! We have 3 very comfortable beds for your enjoyment :)
"How many TV's are in the cabin?"
There are 2 high definition 4K TV's (living room + master bedroom) and lightning fast Wifi throughout the house for on demand entertainment.
I look forward to welcoming you to Hillside Haven!

My family and I had a relaxing spring break at this well-appointed cabin. The owner, Derek, was highly responsive to questions asked via VRBO messenger. We especially enjoyed sharing scary stories while roasting s’mores over the fire pit, taking a dip in the hot tub, and exploring the surrounding woods, where we saw a doe, a red cardinal, and even turkeys. The beds were super comfortable—even my husband commented on wanting to buy the same pillows as those in the rental. I definitely recommend Derek’s cabin if you’re looking to unwind in the mountains!

This cabin was everything we expected and more. The large porch was so inviting and loved that it was tucked up in the woods enough to feel like you were all alone. We maybe only heard 2 or 3 cars the whole time we were there. The house came with all the amenities which was great! Pots, pans, extra garbage bags, paper towels, coffee, spices etc. it was great! Had everything we needed. Derek was also great! Super easy to communicate with and provided detailed information before we arrived so we had no issues accessing anything. Overall great experience and would definitely stay there again. Thank you.

Our stay was very nice. The cabin was very clean and well stocked with everything you need!! The road there was "rocky" as described - some areas are uneven with pot holes and narrow, but wasn't horrible. The cabin is secluded and quite about 20 mins to grocery store. The owner/manager was very responsive and checked in with us a couple of times, which was nice and thoughtful. The only "Cons " would be that while you can slightly see the river if you look through the trees just right, the picture in the listing is not the view from the cabin (which was one of the main reasons we chose this cabin) but there are several beautiful views as you drive down the road. Also, ok the main level in livingroom, kitchen, dining there are no curtains/blinds/shades...its all open. It's pretty but my personal preference would be to have the option to have the windows open or not, especially at night... but again that's me. Over all it was very nice and we would stay again

Cabin was really lovely and spacious. Windy road to get there but not a bad drive at all, fairly easy to get to downtown and still be staying in a secluded area which is exactly what we wanted. Brief hiccup with checking in as our code didn’t work, but Derek responded very promptly and we worked it out in just a couple minutes. Would definitely stay again.

Wife and I stayed in this quiet and comfortable cabin for a few days. Has everything you need short of food. It’s about 30 minutes from any sort of grocery or gas station so stick up before heading off the highway. Derek was great and he left us to enjoy and relax undisturbed. Could easy house 4 adults and make a friendly gathering. Definitely would return. Had a great time!

The cabin is in excellent condition with everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The kitchen is well appointed with dishes, silverware, and cookware, including a cookie sheet and a couple of cake pans. There are a few spices and items for food storage. The living room / dining room area are a good size and open which was helpful with our larger group. The bathrooms are very nice and had everything we needed, including toilet paper, body wash, and shampoo. The beds are comfortable with all bedding and pillows necessary for our crew of six. Our youngest built a fort in the loft and slept in it. The washing machine and dryer came in very handy during our stay. We used the charcoal grill and fire pit which was nice. The host was quick to respond anytime we sent messages. We enjoyed the rolling roadway to get to the cabin. We took a walk along the road on our first morning and enjoyed the sound of the streams running under the road. We definitely recommend this cabin and would return if planning to stay in the area again.

The reservation process and check in was easy. The property owner was quick to answer any questions before and after making the reservation.
The road leading to the cabin was an experience for someone from flat land, but actually fun! Just go SLOW!
Everything was clean and the cabin had everything you could possibly need, so just bring your clothes and food.
The drive into Chattanooga from the cabin is a beautiful one!
There are stores and restaurants not far off from the cabin road. Grab some firewood and charcoal so you can enjoy the outdoor fire ring and BBQ pit.
Cell phone is spotty, but the wifi worked well.

Beautiful cabin. Clean. Fully furnished. The host was very helpful and even left us a couple of treats which we really enjoyed. The road is a little rough to get there but the location is beautiful. About a 30 minute drive to all the major attractions in Chattanooga.

The cabin was clean and nicely arranged. Location of the cabin was in quiet, untouched area by tourist and in woods. The host communicated well, daily checked on us if we need anything, and very nicely welcomed by treats in each room. We enjoyed it as our family trip. Highly recommend this place.

Everything was as promised and we needed nothing extra than what was already at the home. We enjoyed the peace of the nature when we weren’t out exploring Chattanooga. We would also recommend River Drifters for a meal or a drink on the way back up to the home. The home was just what we needed on our trip!
