Beautiful isolated retreat but make sure the HVAC works!!!

This is a beautiful property. All furnishings were lovely and the view and deck were fantastic. I rated this poorly because upon arrival our condo AC was NOT working. I texted our contact who apologized, offered fans and said she would contact HVAC company. We never heard back from her?We had to sleep with the sliding glass doors open and it was warm!!!! Our goal was to escape the terrible July heat of Charlotte and relax. My entire family did not sleep well due to the heat. The master bedroom did not have a ceiling fan which made that room worse and my son ended up in the main living space to sleep. Had we known this property's HVAC was not working we would NOT have booked the place. It would have been nice to have had some options of other properties or compensation for this. Big bummer for my family :(

Property was exactly as presented with current pictures and very well 'stocked' with condiments, paper products, etc. The local contact was extremely helpful and pleasant to deal with. It was a bit further back in the 'community' than expected with quite narrow roads ; knowing that in advance would have been nice/

Whittier Condo

The condo was clean and ready to go upon our arrival. We had an issue with the fireplace, pilot light wasn’t lit, called Hope and she was out the next day to fix the problem. The condo didn’t offer much of a view from the deck, trees blocked the golf course view.

Worst communication we've experienced!

Overall a good experience, yet with very poor communication and several inconveniences. While the house itself was quite comfortable, your communication was very lacking. We received no info on accessing the gate or the lockbox. We had to drive back into town-as there is no cell coverage at the gate or on the road leading to the gate-to make numerous calls for that info. That process took well over an hour. The listing states access to their country club. We had no information on how that would work. It also states we can park in the garage, but no remote was provided. There were no kitchen towels. There were only 3 bath towels for four adults. There was a partial roll of toilet paper in each bathroom, but no additional rolls. The lighted makeup mirror doesn't light at all. No way to turn it on, and plugging it in did nothing. The house was clean, but dusty, and mirrors were dirty/smeared. There were no instructions (other than a handwritten note on the refrigerator about the trash) about checkout. We sent numerous messages about all of the above and never received a response. Very disappointing.

Beautiful condo!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this condo last week! It looks just like the pictures. It is decorated beautifully and is so comfortable and homey! The back porch is a real plus - very private, and the sound of the stream below is very relaxing. We are not golfers, but we enjoyed being in this quiet golfing "community". The golf course itself is quite beautiful and ingeniously designed.

The home is in an excellent location, well equipped and very comfortable. The decking area is great for relaxing with a nice cool drink. The check in process was easy and the owner easy to contact via email. Highly recommended.

Escape to the mountains

We enjoyed our little weekend escape to the mountains! We spent our stay mostly in Bryson City shopping the stores around the train depot. There are some really nice restaurants in that area as well. We really enjoyed the Nantahala’s gorge train ride. As for the condo, it was as nice as it was pictured and it was clean upon arrival. We would consider staying here again.

This condo is spectacular in every way. The decor is stunning, the kitchen is equipped with everything you need, the beds are comfy, etc., etc. The drive to the condo is on narrow mountain roads but the wide creek flowing over rocks makes the drive well worth it. You won't go wrong staying here.

Smoky Mountain Retreat

The condo was just as pictured. Very well maintained, comfortable, nicely furnished. Perfect for the 2 couples. It’s quiet and relaxing. We were able to easily get to several golf courses, in addition to the Smoky Mountain Country Club at the property. Hiking trails and Cherokee were an easy drive away. It’s secluded, but that enhanced the relaxation time. Wonderful visit.

A comfortable place to get away.

Green Shadows condo is a roomy, nicely appointed, two bedroom/two bath. Beds are comfy. Everything works (fans, light switches, etc.). The kitchen has plenty of pots/pans/baking and serving dishes for preparing anything you want. We enjoyed beginning and ending our day on the roomy shaded deck overlooking the golf course. Location of the condo within the country club is easily accessible, yet private. Communication with the property manager was smooth and efficient. We would enjoy staying here again.

A very comfortable place to get away.

Green Shadows is roomy and nicely appointed. Beds are comfy. The kitchen includes pots/pans/baking dishes/ utensils/ flatware enough for cooking anything you like. Having an attached garage was a plus. We enjoyed the large, shaded deck for long range viewing as well as watching the folks going and coming in their golf carts along the course. The location was convenient for day trips into the National Park, a ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and into Bryson City for the Road to Nowhere. Communication with the Property Manager was smooth and efficient. Would be glad to rent here again in the future. Doc & Karen
