Location was excellent! Walking distance to a lot of restaurants,shops and beach bars . The location is on a main one way street right at the turn of the street, we stayed in the apartment above the street view. If you don't mind noise then it's a great place. There is a lot of events in that area so parking can be a bit of a challenge. The la Reina cafe in directly under that apartment,and they turn on the music at 730 am and you can hear it through the floor. Lots of deliveries with beeping trucks and the trash cans are directly in front so that's very load as well. The restaurant is delicious and beautiful. The staff is excellent.

The room wasnt worth the price. No space to relax (apart from our bed and the restaurant) and we couldnt enjoy the pool because of the constructions and the fact that it was not being taken care of. The double bed was actually two single beds put together with a small cover matress. The wifi was working 20% of the time. They were at least kind enough to offer 20% off our stay, but we had to ask for a compensation because of the construction that lasted 3 days.

We had a wonderful stay at Bijblauw. The sea view was beautiful and the decor was lovely. The building has lots of character to it. The staff were lovely and really helpful when we had issues and sorted them very quickly. Lotte was particularly great. They made our stay extra special for our honeymoon. The restaurant food was delicious. We had breakfast daily and ate lunch and dinner once there. The sunset whilst eating was beautiful. It was a great location to walk to local food and drink places. The parking was busy as it doesn't have a private car park, however we always found a space. I would recommend a car to really enjoy and explore the island. Thank you again.

My husband and I were impressed with everything about our stay at BijBlauw. We have never encountered such friendly, caring, helpful, service-oriented staff anywhere else in our travels. The waterfront restaurant is simply stunning. Waking up to breakfast on the sea was the absolute best! Followed closely by ending the day with a cocktail while watching the sun set. I have some food allergies, but that was never a problem during any of our meals. Staff were always happy to let the chef know about my dietary restrictions. Once they were aware, they always remembered what I could or couldn't eat. I found that to be very reassuring. We stayed in room #6 on the second floor. Just beware, there are no elevators here, but there are rooms on the main floor. While the hotel itself was extremely warm, our room was a nice, cool refuge from the heat. It was also very quiet, which allowed for a restful night's sleep. The location was great, too! Even though we had a car, we could easily walk to so many other neat places in Pietermaai, Punda, and Otrabanda. This place is about as lovely as can be! Our stay in Curacao was delightful, thanks in large part to the kind staff and gracious hospitality at BijBlauw. We hope to return someday!

The REAL review

MUST READ: it's hard to get an accurate description with reviews, but here is as close as you'll get. This is a small older hotel made into a boutique property. Overall, I would rate this a seven out of 10. The hotel rooms and lobby are historical building. That's been well painted and maintained, but realize it is an older building. If you have any problem with stairs, do not stay here. The stairs to the second floor are almost like a ladder, and unhealthy people or cokes that have trouble with stairs could get hurt on this. Don't be fooled by the pictures of the pool. In fact, the pool is a small container tucked in the back area outside where it is not a very pleasant sitting and can be characterized as a plunge pool. There's really two seats to sit in, both of them tucked up against the building where you would not want to sit. So essentially no pool. The entire property exists around the restaurant which is in back facing the beautiful ocean setting. This is indeed Crown jewel the property because you can eat here, and sit and enjoy the scenery. Whether it's early morning, coffee or late night dinner or drinks, this is spectacular. However! The property maintains this as a restaurant and if you don't want to eat, it is awkward to go sit amongst well, dressed dinner growers, and enjoy the scenery in your swim trucks and flip-flops. Sothere is really nowhere to sit that is comfortable that doesn't put you in the middle of a restaurant.

Our travel group loved the space and amenities of the BijBlauw 2 bedroom apartment. The space was gorgeous and kitchen included all amenities including dishes and cutlery perfect for meals out on the terrace. The staff were friendly and helpful both within the hotel space and the restaurant. BijBlauw gave us the perfect place to relax and recharge after our adventures around Curaçao.

This is a beautiful hotel. My wife and I stayed in the "fiddler on the roof" (what the room is called). The room is very spacious, and you have your own private terraces. The terraces is spacious and has amazing views. I highly recommend adding the daily breakfast. I also recommended having dinner and watching the sunset. All the food we ate was delicious. The staff was great and gave great recommendations for places to visit and eat while on the trip. I could not have asked for a better place to stay. My wife and I will be coming back and staying at BijBlauw.

BijBlauw is a small Boutiquehotel directly on the Oceanfront. It has a very good restaurant directly in front of the sea. My room no. 9 was so beautiful with a big terrass overlooking the sea. The terrass is well equiped with 2 sunbeds, a small table, a big table with chairs and a bench. The location of the hotel in the beautiful Pietermaai area is great. You can explore Willemstad very easily by foot. All of the staff is so kind and helpful. I had a marvellous stay and defintely want to come back. Thank you so much.

Great Place But Sketchy Internet

Excellent. Very friendly service. But internet wasa very weak. They had 4-5 wifis but none could stream video and even trying to get eMail out was "stop and go" so I had to use my cell phone hotsport which worked a little better but I had to tape my phone high up on the window to get enough bars...not good if you are there on business.

BijBlauw is amazing. The staff is excellent, food is great. It's in a good location depending on what you are looking for. There is some terrible construction goin on next door, but once that is complete, it will be fantastic.

The restaurant area is on the ocean and the food is delicious. We had a different breakfast every day of our six day stay and all were good as was the dinner we had there. Unfortunately (no fault of the hotel) there was construction next door so for now try to get a room in the yellow or blue buildings vs the red one (rooms 11-14).

Os quartos do hotel são incrivelmente espaçosos e confortáveis. A localização também é um ponto alto: você estará próximo dos restaurantes para sair a noite e ainda poderá tomar café da manhã de frente para o mar. O atendimento da Sera foi um ponto alto: ela é simpática e muito disponível! Adoramos conhecê-la. Como pontos negativos, pontuo a limpeza, que deixou a desejar e a falta de privacidade da área da bacia sanitária. Também deixo como alerta a varanda do quarto superior de frente para o mar: ela não é conectada diretamente ao quarto, conforme havíamos imaginado. Usamos pouco, mas ainda sim, foi ótimo! Conseguimos ver os fogos do reveillon de lá com toda a família! A propósito, nunca vimos tantos fogos de artifício quanto lá!

Super vriendelijk personeel, mooi hotel en mooie kamer maar voor een deluxe kamer was de badkamer wat onhandig. Toiletspullen konden haast niet neergezet worden. Heel veel lawaai van buiten omdat er alleen luikjes en geen glas in een van de ramen zit. Drukke straat met veel verkeer en met een generator die dag en nacht aan staat door een naastgelegen verbouwing is slapen wat lastig. Dit had best even vermeldt mogen worden.
