They are renovating and changed our reservation without advance notice. The windows would not close all the way letting in mosquitoes and one of our rooms had roaches. Went to front desk and they just handed us roach spray. It did not seem like they cared.

I'm American and got my own room. The place was fairly empty (in early December), so not too much interaction with others (for better or worse). The building is old but everything is clean and in great working order. Great water pressure in showers, really clean bathrooms and kitchen, AC worked great (you'll need it), and parking was easy. Security at the gate is no hassle for walking or driving in or out. Front desk was friendly and helpful when I left my key in my room. You can walk to the main part of town in 12 minutes or across the bridge in 20. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

For me, the location was the priority. the facilities again for me since I was out every day from sunup to late in the evening was again excellent. And above all very safe and secure. Overall, there was nothing I did not like. Since I have to go back there in January I will want to stay at the same plce.

The staff is so incredibly kind! I love that there are multiple pool options, only thing I’d change is the Continental breakfast: it’s literally just a peanut butter and jelly sandwich lol but the stay here was great

Many kind people on the property to greet me and help with any questions. I came at a very quiet time which (late June) which I appreciated—practically didn’t see any other people. The property could use some maintenance and extra cleaning in areas, and jacuzzi did not heat up. Great location to accessing downtown Willemstad. Overall cleanliness of the room was excellent. Access to the Ritz beach pool was a huge plus!

Nice property very quite and relaxing... I think in they need to stare that you're getting continental breakfast instead of saying breakfast included.. The pool is very clean and relaxing, staff are friendly and professional..

The hostel is very nice and it's good that you can use the facilities of the hotel, like the pool and the bar. There is security in the property 24/7 which made me feel very safe. The GM Fazl is a very approachable guy and made everything possible to make my stay very comfortable.

The hostel is basic and could use a bit of upgrading. Great value for the price. Didnt expect comfort. Pros: they accomodate late checkin and have car parking Cons: bathrooms and beds are but outdated.

Like: friendly staff, clean, great location, interesting history of being a former ice cream factory. Not like: inconvenient shower facilities (no place to put clothes and undress or dress in shower area). Breakfast is overpriced.

I really enjoyed the fact that you can use the hotel amenities while staying at the hostel , but the bathrooms need work , there’s no ventilation in the bathrooms.

I liked the set up very much. It was a gated private road with all different types of rooms and a hostel. Parking on site. A rental car place, a market a bar and place to eat. The drinks however were quite expensive, that is my only complaint, as well as the two hot tubs they have are not hot they are colder than the pool, why I do not know. But the staff is great in every way. They will help you with anything from hotel to excursions.

The hostel has a jacuzzi and is in a great downtown location with free parking. The staff was absolutely fabulous and I would go back just to chat with them! So glad I found this place!!

Careful with the staff and the manager!
I actually didn't stay at the Ritz, but had initially reserved a three night stay from the 10th to the 13th. I was caught up in transit and was not going to be able to make it and called the hotel on the 10th to let them know I will not be coming and would like to cancel my reservation. They said ok, and to contact Expedia since I booked thru them as well. When I came back to Canada and contacted Expedia, the rep called the hotel and asked them and the hotel manager said that there is no record of me calling and that it was marked down as a no show and I was charged $77 for this. Expedia mentioned that there is nothing they can do about this. If you guys have any dealings with this hotel, just be careful that you jot down the name and time you speak to anyone there so that they cannot dispute afterwards.

Thanks for your review. We are sorry to hear that you had confusion regarding our cancellation policy. When you choose your room on Expedia, you see the small check mark" next to the words "cancellation". If you click on this, it shows you exactly what the terms are for your particular reservation. (this works for any hotel you book on expedia) In our case our policy is - If cancelled or modified up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. - If cancelled or modified later or in case of no-show, 100% of the entire reservation will be charged. - Deposit Policy 100 percent of the first night will be charged on the day of booking and is refundable. So if you make a reservation to arrive on the 27th of July (this month) and you click that box, you will see this: You can cancel free of charge up until the cancellation window Cancellations or changes made after 6:00PM (property’s local time) on Tue, Jul 25 or no-shows are subject to a hotel fee equal to 100% of the total amount paid for the reservation. So, Cancelled reservations on day of arrival will therfore be charged 100%, as stated. I am sorry that you feel this was not made clear to you. This policy is also sent to clients with the confirmation of reservation, when you book. We wish you the very best.

Great place without spending a fortune
Definitely would stay again. Clean rooms and air conditioning is nice. Swimming pool is an added benefit as well as being close to town. Dining on site and The Ritz does their own tours.

Great Price and Location
The location is really great. Don't listen to the people who say the area is sketchy. They are probably afraid of their own shadow. To get to the main tourist areas of Punda and Otraband it is a 3-5 minute walk from the hotel. The first block you walk down to get there is far from nice but also not at all dangerous. The location is fantastic and the price is great.

Only hostel in Curacao but nice enough
Staff are very friendly, the facilities are ok, it had a pool with a nice surrounding area to lie. Reasonably close to town. Downside is top bunk is ridiculously high. I only had a 1 night stay.

Desde nuestro primer día de llegada tuvimos problemas, la habitación tenía cucarachas enormes!! Solicitamos que nos cambien de habitación ya que se estaban metiendo en nuestras maletas, el señor del servicio muy amable nos cambió a una habitación superior; sin embargo, al día 3 volvimos a encontrar cucarachas caminando por la habitación y tuvimos que tapar los agujeros por donde se escondían, nos dimos cuenta que los veladores tenían una capa de polvo y que no se veían limpios. Nos decidimos por este hostel ya que tenia “desayuno continental” sin embargo, en Ec el desayuno continental contiene huevos, jamón o mortadela… lamentablemente aquí no. En general mis puntuaciones para este hospedaje es: - habitación 1/5 - desayuno 2/5 - piscina 5/5 Nota: Nosotros salimos únicamente en vehículo porque en la noche es un lugar muy oscuro y con casi nada de iluminación, vimos gente de calle consumiendo y para no arriesgarnos preferimos salir en auto. Los baños son compartidos NO TIENES BAÑO EN TU HABITACIÓN, pero en la descripción de hotel.Com menciona que tienes baño privado algo que no es cierto. El internet (wifi) en la habitación es deficiente, teníamos que bajar a casi la puerta para poder conectarnos.

Die Idee der Unterkunft eine alte Eisfabrik umzubauen ist toll, leider nicht gut umgesetzt. Von außen schaut das Hostel/Hotel schön aus. Wir wurden aber schon direkt zu Beginn von der Taxifahrerin gewarnt, dass man in der Umgebung nachts nicht rumlaufen sollte (zu gefährlich). Im Hotel fühlt man sich durch den Sicherheitsdienst am Tor immerhin sicher. Das Zimmer war sehr dunkel, mich hat das Zimmer an eine dunkle Garage erinnert, vor allem der Betonboden im Zimmer! hat das ganze ungemütlich gemacht. Neben der Tür gibt es eine Verglasung zum Innenhof, durch die nur wenig Licht reinkommt. Ein Fenster zum Lüften gibt es nicht, da bleibt nur die Zimmertür. Die Tür hat aber kein Fliegengitter und man wird dann von Stechmücken zerstochen. Das Bad ist heruntergekommen und immer feucht, es gibt auch keine Lüftung oder Fenster. Es gibt nur kaltes Wasser. Das Hotel war wie ausgestorben, kaum andere Gäste. Alte Aushänge haben an frühere Aktivitäten (Poolbar happy hour, Pizza, Kino etc.) erinnert, die es inzwischen aber nicht mehr gibt. Das alte Boule-Feld neben der Poolbar am kleinen Pool ist inzwischen das Katzenklo und hatte einen strengen Geruch. Da hat auch leider die lieb gemeinte Weihnachtsdekoration nicht geholfen. Immerhin ist das Personal sehr freundlich. Kann zusammenfassend das Hotel nicht weiterempfehlen.

Es inaudito que el turista tenga que desvestir camas, recoger menaje y llevarlo a la recepción para poder hacer el check out. Al hacer la reserva, se pide cama doble, para una pareja y resulta que para ellos es un camarote, con el segundo piso como a dos metros de altura. y sin son adultos mayores, quién los sube allá. La puerta de la habitación es con vidrio y tienes que dormir toda la noche con luz, porque no apagan las luces del corredor. eso no lo dicen en lo que ofrecen. Omiten muchas cosas. Además no existe ninguna playa privada como lo publicitan, eso es una piscina. No hay posibilidad de conseguir comida cerca.

Eb la parte del segundo piso donde se encuentra el jakussi esa parte en la noche le falta iluminacion es muy oscura. El desayuno deveria ser mas variado y tener fruta
