Amazing Property

Great views with a lot of space and wildlife
The house is a really great space for larger groups. Plenty of space for groups to visit in 3 sitting areas, including one in the master bedroom. The views from living room and screened porch are fantastic. The house was clean and beds were very comfortable. Lisa was extremely accommodating for us and the check in/out procedures are the easiest I've had with a VRBO property. Overall just an excellent experience.

Three of my first cousins and our spouses stayed here for three nights. We had a wonderful time. It is a great house and located in a very private and remote location. The description of the road was factual but warning us about the location one lane road and numerous no trespassing signs would have been helpful!

Unbelievable!
What a treat we found in this property. Vast views with incredible sunrises and sunsets. We used this location as home base while hitting our favorite bourbon spots with our friends, 10 of us in total. The property was well stocked with all the necessities and then some. It was clean upon arrival and the property owners were very responsive. Thank you for sharing your slice of heaven with us-we will be back!

Our stay at Anchorhold Farm
We appreciated the lovely setting. Yes, it is rural, but close to Lexington. We were an extended family ranging in age from almost 2 to 75. The common areas were terrific for our family. The kitchen was well stocked so we could make brownies and cook more complex meals. The little ones appreciated the driveway for riding bikes and other vehicles. We also appreciated the games, toys and other amenities that were enjoyed by everyone.

Very nice place
We had 4 couples stay here. The property is in the country and it's gorgeous. It's quiet except for the wildlife. We saw deer, turkey, owls. Such a nice place to get away to. We loved the front screened porch for coffee during the cool late summer mornings. The kitchen had everything we needed. I recommend this home for your group if you don't want all the commotion of the city. It's close enough to boating, distilleries and Lexington that we made day trips of it all. Great place to spend a week. Thanks for everything!

Very cool property! Manager was very easy to get a hold of and helpful. Little tricky to find but the property is beautiful! The house is a little louder than i expected. But we knew about it ahead of time. Overall it was great and we would definitely stay again in the future!!

Serenity in the hills of Kentucky.
I don’t think words can describe the peacefulness that swept over our family while we enjoyed a week here. My parents, my in-laws, two loving labs, a 5 year old, a 4 year old, and my husband. You could hear the girls squeals miles away! The laughter and the quiet times with God all ebbed and flowed here daily. The pictures can’t quite capture that but they do a wonderful job. If you’re thinking about it… DO IT. We had the opportunity to meet Jamey, the man who owns and built this home, and he gave us some history of the home making it all the more charming. There’s plenty of space to get off on your own as well as space to enjoy everyone. I truly can’t say enough positive things about this rental and or the area where it is located. If you need a place just to be, to reset, to connect with family, to have time with God… this is the place. I highly recommend 6am, screen porch, blanket, coffee, and a Bible. It just might be a little bit of Heaven on Earth. Thank you for sharing your joy with us. Love The Morris Crew!

Perfect gathering place!
The morning after returning from this lovely location, I awoke with this old song playing in my mind: "My grandfather's clock was too tall for the shelf, so it stood ninety years on the floor. It was taller by half than the old man himself, but it weighed not a penny-weight more." It took a second before I remembered what triggered this memory; it was the grandfather clock in the living room of this spacious rural home. The clock is typical of the ambiance in this comfortable home: handmade quilts, comfortable seating, a large screened-in porch, and room for everyone to gather around the dining room table. I gathered here with my brothers, their spouses, my son and his wife. We met over Memorial Day weekend to attend concerts at the nearby Shaker Village performed by the Lincoln Chamber Music Society of New York, and to enjoy precious family time together. The farm provides utter peace and privacy, and enough space to find a quiet corner if you seek time alone. It is close enough to Lexington to attend sports events and concerts, but once you arrive you may never want to leave. This is the second stay for me. A year ago I got together with a group of friends from my college graduating class, and this second time with family. I hope there will be future visits to this special place.

A week in the hills of Kentucky
This is a beautiful piece of property that such in the hills in Kentucky, which has fantastic reviews, no matter where you look. The trip to get there is a menagerie of twists and turns and hills. If you’d like to drive, curvy roads, this is a place you want to be. Had a great time. Make sure you bring groceries.

Jon commented to me that he enjoyed the 1 mile lane to the farm. The driveway is almost another mile long, but don’t let that scare you!!!! Closet grocery is just under 4 miles away but once you get there you don’t want to leave! Thanks, Jon!

Post Retirement Relaxing Getaway
My wife and I were looking for a location where we could just get away and relax in a quiet, peaceful environment. I recently retired after Serving 40 years in the military, and we were more than ready for some rest and relaxation. We couldn't be more pleased with our stay here. The lodge-style home was secluded in a peaceful setting with large pastures in front and back, along with plenty of woods. The closest neighbor was 1/2 mile away. We enjoyed setting on the screened-in front porch and watching the sunrise; as well as sitting on the back deck and watching the sunset. Most mornings and evenings there were deer in the fields. The home was very comfortable with all of the amenities we needed to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Since they are pet friendly, we were able to bring along our two small Yorkies and they had a blast playing outside in the wide-open spaces. We were able to do some hiking on the vast expanse of acreage they offered and felt like we were in the middle of nowhere. However, it was only a short 20 minute drive to town for a grocery store or restaurants. All in all it was exactly what we needed and the owners were very pleasant to work with. We hope to be back again and bring some friends with us next time!

Beautiful views and private setting. Not too far from town. We loved every minute of it.
The owner of this beautiful property is one of the nicest people I have spoken with. She was concerned with our arrival due to weather and checked in until we made it. The house has everything you need to cook or bake. I t amazingly clean. We had a full house and plenty of room for everyone. Mu dog loved running the acres with us while we explored.

My family (7 of us) stayed over the weekend. The cabin is spacious, with many areas to hang out or get away from everyone. The property is gorgeous, with great views and space to walk and enjoy nature. The best part, though, was the porch. I just wish we had warmer weather to really enjoy it!

We enjoyed the cabin so much. It had everything we needed. The views were beautiful to wake up to and have a cup of coffee on the back deck or front porch. Lots of deer to see. The cabin felt like home and not a guest. If you want a cabin away from the hustle and bustle of town, this country cabin is for you!!

Bourbon Trail Trip
Rental was as described. We had 11 in our group and there was plenty of room. Google maps gets you to the gate but beware the road leading to the house is narrow and leaves you wondering where you will end up but not to worry, there is a lovely home at the end of the path. Hot tub was very nice after a full day on the trail. Deer all over the place morning and night. Very scenic view of the Kentucky countryside. Fire pit was used on the cool October night. Very clean and organized. We highly recommend for large group visiting the area.

Girls Trip
Most of us grew up together and all graduated from high school together almost 50 years ago. We try and get together every few years to catch up and go sightseeing in the area we choose. I live in Lexington so I hosted my friends and we had an excellent time. The Lodge is beautiful, very comfortable, clean and accommodating. The kitchen is very well stocked with pot and pans and several dishes. We all enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful Getaway
This was the prefect place for our group of 10 to stay while visiting local distilleries. Everyday we enjoyed a sunrise breakfast on the screened in front porch and a dinner with a sunset on the back deck. The location on the property high up on the hill let's you see the beautiful landscape for miles in every direction. The house has a very charming feel and communication with the owners was great. We will be staying here again!

We had a great time at this property. The outdoor views were beautiful! The home was cozy and large, we had more room than we needed. We'd definitely stay again if in the area. Just a note that the closest grocery store in town doesn't have the greatest selection so best to stop somewhere else.

Gorgeous Home in a Lovely, Secluded Location
Our family enjoyed a wonderful weekend at this gorgeous home! Coming from three different states, my sister, brother, and I, along with our spouses, gathered with our parents for some much needed quality time together. This was the perfect place! The home is very comfortable, extremely clean, and has a great open floor plan. The home is furnished very nicely and Lisa has done a great job anticipating the needs of her guests. The kitchen is very well equipped with lots of dishes, pots, pans, and utensils. Rain, for the majority of our stay, prevented us from spending a lot of time outside enjoying the property. However, we did enjoy talking and watching the rain as we sat on the large, screened-in front porch. We also enjoyed playing games and chatting while sitting around the large dining room table. The home is in a lovely, secluded location, yet it is within close driving distance of many things. The views from the front and back of the home are spectacular! Communication with Lisa is quite easy and she responded to our questions in a very timely manner. When our travels take us back to this area, we will definitely stay again in this beautiful home!

We were back in the area for another vacation at this wonderful house. Although it was a shorter trip this time, all the family enjoyed it. On this trip we went to the Shaker Village for a tour and some walking. Then we went to the Kentucky Horse Park and Camp Nelson. The 90 degree temperature keep us from doing any long walks, but what we did was great. Loved the new refrigerator.

Simply perfect!
A group of women from the Centre College Class of 1970 wanted to get together; some of us had seen each other periodically over the years, and some had not seen each other in 50+ years. We wanted a place that was peaceful, quiet, would comfortably accommodate eight of us, provided space to be together or be in small groups, and provided places to walk and enjoy the beauty of the Bluegrass region. We hit the jackpot when we found this lovely, spacious, 140-acre farm on VRBO. The host provided detailed directions; we entered the address in Google Maps, which took us exactly to the location. A large screened porch running the length of the back of the house was the perfect place to gather to visit, as was the comfortable dining table adjacent to the kitchen. The kitchen was well equipped with cooking pots and utensils and plenty of dishes and silverware for our group. The hostess is nearby, and was immediately responsive to our questions. The well-built home is beautifully furnished and decorated with quilts and comfortable furniture; it is just as portrayed in the on-line photos. It has the feel of a warm, comfortable home, unlike some air b&bs that feel like motels. The long drive leading to the house is perfect for walking, with native plants and wildflowers on both sides. Some comments from those in the group: "Driving down that lonesome road and arriving at that wonderful oasis was a thrill." "The morning mist over the Kentucky River is breathtaking." "The spacious porch is a wonderful place to gather and watch the sunrise. There are small places throughout the house if one wants a secluded place to read or have a more private discussion." "I am still basking in the warmth of our time together in such a perfect setting." While in a perfect, secluded place, the farm is about thirty minutes from Pleasant Hill, a lovely restored Shaker village with excellent dining and other activities. It is also near to the historic town of Harrodsburg, founded in 1774, the first permanent settlement west of the Alleghenies. If your high school student wants to look at colleges, Centre College and Asbury University are nearby. There is a hot tub, and a sitting room with television. We were enjoying being together so much that we didn't turn on the television or open the hot tub. Whether you seek a secluded getaway, or a peaceful place to gather with family that is not too distant from interesting historical places, this is the perfect spot.
