The host, Ed, was incredibly welcoming and thoughtful—he provided drinking water, butter, milk, and a few other staples, and even surprised us with a delicious carrot cake.It’s an ideal spot to relax with someone you love—whether you’re playing games, grilling, or simply enjoying the peaceful river just steps from the cabin. "So I’m not one to complain. However there was a spot in the bathroom on the front side of the sink that had pee on it. Not a HUGE deal. I mean yeah gross but it was an easy spot to miss. However, when I said something at check out about our room not being cleaned the best, she said “well maintenance might’ve been in there working” and what? Peed on the wall? lol so I told her I’m not trying to be a nuisance or looking to get anything for free and I was just letting them know. Whatever, again, not a big deal. Then when we got home, I started itching really bad. I have bites all over my body. I’m not one to make a big deal outta things and I feel bad for leaving a crappy review but I’ve never had anything like this happen before. My husband and I used to come here to celebrate our anniversary and we’ve always loved it. Needless to say it’s extremely run down, and we won’t be back. I didn’t see any bed bugs because we did (kinda) check. We weren’t very thorough due to being there before with no issues. However I have multiple clusters of bites all over. Book at your own risk of course"

"When we arrived at the facility we noticed trash in parking lot and near building under windows. The parking lot lights barely work and makes it hard to see late at night. We had a 2 night reservation got into our room and immediately found a red sticky stain on the comforter clear as day with the bed neatly made. There is no way their housekeeper couldn't see it, probably didn't care. We went immediately downstairs and the front desk clerk switched our room downstairs. We went in and immediately clear as day all towels were used. The bath had used soap and some hair stuck to walls, the sink had hair from someone shaving still left in sink. So my husbund went to the other room to get the clean towels from 1st room and took the dirty towels to the 2nd room. The tv didn't work. The lock on the room was broken off and missing. Missing a light bulb from one lamp in room. The breakfast was terrible. We tried the waffles and the batter must have gone sour. We had cereal instead. The second day we chose to get our breakfast from Walmart. I was completely surprised for a Super 8 to be left with such filth. We should of asked for complete refund but we didn't have another place to go with short notice. Maintenance and housekeeping need to be trained or fired. We stay with Super 8 all the time for the last 22 years when we travel because they have high standards but not in Rochester, Indiana. Avoid staying here."

"This home is beautiful, clean, well stocked for large groups and has an awesome view of the lake! Hosts were quick to respond to any questions and had simple instructions posted around home which was very helpful! It is just minutes away from Indiana Beach too! Highly recommend them for large groups of 10-15 guests :) "
