While we didn't fish (it seems perfect for it), we did enjoy our time fixing a few slow meals in the cabin, getting out on the lake, watching the stars at night, and checking out a few nearby spots, like the county fair (that just happened to be perfectly timed with our trip) and bars/restaurants. Really beautiful land up by Northome, and recommend the stay for the area!"

"Very well taken care of cabin in an extremely relaxing setting. It was very clean, despite having neighbors a couple hundred yards away, felt very private. The Loons & Frogs are the only sounds around sunrise and sunset, with a pair of eagles talking to each other as they fished. Would highly recommend for a place to paddle and decompress. "

"This was resort property of vintage cabins in a fairly remote area, very DIY and not a lot of amenities... which was perfect for us. No restaurants nearby, but the cabins had kitchens, and the lodge had a bar with a small menu of bar food (pizzas, fries, nachos). The couple who staffed the lodge were very friendly and helpful, and the locals we met were very nice! "

This cabin is as "Minnesota" as it gets!

"Cozy, clean and quiet. The lake is absolutely gorgeous. Clear sandy bottom and shallow along the shoreline. We enjoyed kayaking and even caught a few sunnies! We made most of our meals at the cabin but did venture out to Riley's Cannibal Junction for a couple of awesome burgers and a quick stop at Hayslips Corner just down the road. There's also a great little store within walking distance from the cabin with almost everything you could ever need. Thank you for sharing this wonderful cabin with us. We made memories we won't soon forget!"
