Adirondack Lodge Old Forge

8/10 Good

"Room was clean and comfortable and the air conditioning worked without a hitch. The pool was nice and we enjoyed swimming in it. The only issue was the bathroom. In addition to the bathtub stopper not working properly so baths were not an option, the hot water spigot was loose and wobbly and very difficult to turn off. Also the water continued dripping out even after it was turned off. So bathroom maintenance needs improvement but aside from that everything else was problem free. Property is a little aged but not terribly so, and actually kind of fits in to the Old Forge asthetic. Overall its a place worth staying at. Go in with reasonable expectations and you'll be satisfied."

"Carl was an excellent host, communicated promptly and professionally when we had questions. Location was lovely and very quiet throughout the day and night. Wildlife around the cabin regularly so if you like to see deer; you are probably certain too. Would stay here again and again."

"We Loved our stay here! The house had plenty of bedrooms and was very clean; perfectly located right in town where we could walk to Water Safari and all the cute local shops. The view was beautiful. The fire pit was perfect for the kids. We can’t wait to stay again in the future!"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We loved being in walking distance from the lake. This was a perfect Adirondack experience. The fireplace, outdoor dining area, and a decent size yard were all positive aspects to our enjoyable stay. The communication from the host was great, and communicating any questions were responded to in a timely manner. We are so thankful for our time spent at this camp."

"Prior to checking in the host was attentive. Afterward I texted her a question and days later I still have no response. There was one night during our stay that we woke up in the middle of the night and there was no running water. By morning it was back on. There was one bed that there weren’t any sheets for in the bunk bed room. The listing doesn’t mention this but there is no AC. When we called the host prior to coming she gave us that heads up and said we could bring a window unit if we wanted to, which we did. The king size bed was very comfortable. The full kitchen was well stocked with utensils, dishes, and cookware. The house was very clean on check in. We were happy to find there was a high chair and kids utensils/dishes. The separate beverage fridge/freezer was also a pleasant surprise. There is nowhere to drop trash which is a large inconvenience. Each room and the living room all had TVs which was great. Each room had closets but no dressers so we were essentially living out of our luggage for our whole stay. The wifi password is written a certain way, but we found after some trial and error that it’s actually all supposed to be lowercase. As a final note: The photo in the listing that shows the view of the lake is very misleading. There is no lake view from the house, and it’s actually quite the hike to get to the water."
