The location of the hotel is perfect, close to a market and food court. The staff was very helpful. I would like to especially mention concierge Jacky who did an excellent job.

The hotel manager CoCo was particularly helpful and provided excellent, above and beyond service to me. If you stay at this hotel, you should know that staff don't speak English, but CoCo the manager spoke excellent English which helped on several interactions.

Stay here in Xining

It is a wonderful place to stay. The staff is superb. I had a medical issue that turned out to be nothing. They sent a person with me to navigate the doctor. Breakfast is wonderful. The gym is solid for a hotel. The area is pleasant. Taxis are inexpensive to any part of the City. I am a 'professional traveler' and this is one of my favorites.

The property itself was lovely but the pool was out of action, which was one of our main reasons for staying there. The communication and attitude of staff at check in was TERRIBLE and no attempt was made to speak to me as the person with the booking and paying for 8 people checking in. No smile, no explanation of amenities, breakfast, pool being shut or how to get to our room. They just chucked the key cards on the counter and served the next person. We got better service at the restaurant around the corner where we spent 200 yuan! I immediately translated how unhappy I was with the service. They took a photo and said sorry in English. When we checked out there was a very happy English speaker there waiting for us but the ones who served us at check in wouldn’t even look at me.

Staff is outstanding in their service. In fact, one concierge came to our room to show us how to operate the laundry machine as we were Chinese illiterate. When we asked to purchase an umbrella from the Sebel, the manager went out of his way to accommodate our request.

The hotel was one of the nicest I've ever stayed in. The only problem was that none of the taxi drivers at the airport knew where it was. If the name given on the internet were Sebel/SOFITEL, I would have no problem finding it.

The bed was luxurious and the bathroom was extremely well appointed! The carpet had cigarette burns and the sofa was stained. Other than that, the room was very clean. My biggest compliant was the room was very hot, despite the windows open and the heat in the room off. The front desk person, Crystal, was extremely helpful and offered to change rooms and tried very hard to make sure we were comfortable. She gave us outstanding service.

優點：前台的服務員Laura友善熱情，態度積極非常棒。床很大很舒服，浴室空間舒適，房內有水氧機可以增加房內濕度。地點不錯，附近挺熱鬧超市餐廳周邊都有。 缺點：浴室建議可以多個置衣架。因為氣候乾燥，開關按鈕可以選用防止通電的材質。有些設備可以加強清潔，如水氧機內的水垢已經泛黃卡髒污，就會覺得噴出來的水氣不太乾淨。 綜合以上，如有下次還是會選擇入住。

This was a once in a lifetime experience!

First of all- let me say that Laura is Awesome! We visited the Sofitel on December 7, 2018 for my wife’s Birthday and Laura and her staff totally hooked us up with the most amazing upgrade I have ever experienced (and I travel a lot so that is a big statement!) We checked in and they upgraded us from a normal King bed room in the Sebel to this huge two bedroom executive suite! We had our two young kids with us so I had planned for them just to sleep on the floor- but they totally had their own bed! When we arrived in the room Christophe, the General Manager, had written us a hand written birthday card and left an entire box of very expensive Swiss chocolates and wine for my wife! We felt like kings and queens because of their service! This is the love of God expressed towards us through these sweet, caring staff! They went the extra mile and made everything so personal, so wonderful, so over the top amazing! They also upgraded us to the Club lounge on the 16th floor of the Sofitel and they served us this amazing dinner and we were basically the only people in the whole lounge. Then they brought my wife this amazing Chocolate Mousse cake that was so rich and tasty. Sofitel absolutely has a great handle on what it is to serve the customer to make them feel “Magnifique!” The service staff were all on their A game and the breakfast was to die for with so many homemade pastries and an excellent selection of both western and Chinese dishes!

Highly recommend Sebel Xining

Wonderful comfortable stay 2 night stay in December. We came in via train and paid 30rmb to get to the hotel. Hotel provided you with oxygen, not that we used it. We were here essentially to acclimatise. The Sofitel looks after the Sebel so you will have access to the finer things when staying here which is a bonus. Breakfast was wonderful, more catered to the asian palate but you can get the enough of a western style if you prefer. Although it is a serviced apartment if you really had to cook your own meal, this would prove rather difficult as they don't have all the nick nacks and no microwave. There is an RT mart (supermarket) around the side so you can pick up anything you have missed. Had a comfortable stay and would only stay here again if I ever return.
