"The location was ideal. Property was okay for cleanliness but the elevators were never working. The rooms were okay but the walls were extremely thin. We could hear everything from outside the hotel and also in the hallways and in the other rooms. The staff at check in was not the nicest, but the staff in the restaurant and in the bar and at the valet were very sweet. The hotel feels very much like a motel. We liked the location but would not stay again because of the noise level. "

"The hotel is historic and offers spectacular views of the Savannah River. The lobby and the open flights of stairs down to River Street are memorable. My only criticisms is the failure of the reception staff to inform me of the $32 “destination fee” at check in and the remodeling of the bathroom in our room does not reflect and failed to preserve the original character and features of our room. The floor and walls were covered with composite or wood laminated materials and the cabinet/counter for the sink was a gray colored Formica like material. Despite those criticisms, we would stay at the River Street Inn again."

"We booked this hotel specifically for the hot tub. We were very disappointed to learn the hotbtub was not functional upon our arrival. There was also blue painters tape holding together a piece of the balcony. The air conditioning in the room, although it worked great, was incredibly loud. The side of the hotel overlooking "landmarks" was very noisy with many trucks traveling on W Bay Street. The use of the room key to operate the elevator was a bit of an annoyance as well. The little interaction we had with staff was great and over all the room was clean aside from the complementary bobby pin left in the shower."

"Wonderful hotel. Well located. Very nice staff. Great concierge to help with tours. Friendly everywhere Quiet well appointed room. Nice if the pool was heated but beau area and view"

"Breakfast must have had somethiing bad because I got violently ill with the runs immediately after eating it. Also the room had spider webs on the ceiling and I got bitten all over my body from the bed. Bed bugs ?? One week ater I am still itching with large welts all over my body !!"
