"We booked this hotel for a short drive from Liberia, on our first day. The road is decent, but not a quick, simple drive. The property is near the Rincon de la Vieja National Park, although you must drive a little to get to the park. Hotel staff were knowledgeable about the park’s features and what was open on different days. We loved how remote and peaceful this hotel feels. Definitely use Waze to find your way to, from, and around the park. Sadly, we wasted valuable time getting lost, missing what we wanted to see. "

"Amazing resort! It offers many different activities from horseback riding and hiking to waterfalls to hot springs and spa treatments. The environment is like an upscale ranch, rooms are spacious and ofter garden patio area and views of the surrounding forest, with many birds fluttering around. Nice big breakfast buffet, lots of seating and dining options. "

"We stayed for one night at the end of May 2025. The property is very well maintained and immaculate. The owner are very nice and caring. The breakfast was delicious. We highly recommend. "

"The villa is just as described and the location is cool. We spent days exploring the area, late afternoons cooling off in the pool and evenings watching the sunset. The walk down to the river is easy and we spent an afternoon hanging out there and swimming in the water. As others have said, there is still a lot of construction happening on the property and when complete the place will be fantastic. For now, there are no other amenities like a restaurant or spa on site but they are building it.Some amenities we felt were lacking in the villa were a place to hang clothes or a dresser to unpack any luggage. So, while staying there you will be living out of your bags, literally. Another item that would have been nice was an umbrella or some sort of shade during the afternoons. The deck and pool face west which makes for great sunsets but the afternoon sun/heat can be quite extreme with no shade available. There are trees around the pool and back patio but are too small yet to provide any shade. Finally, the only seating in the villa are some dining chairs and some deck loungers. There are no padded chairs in the bedrooms or the the kitchen area where we could relax. There is no living room just the two bedrooms w/bathrooms and a kitchen so hanging out as a group happens outside or in the kitchen. Not the end of the world, and the listing is accurate for amenities and rooms but an area to hang out inside on some comfortable seating would be nice.Orlando, the manager is great"

"Our stay at Casitas Tenorio B&B was the highlight of our trip, if it were available for more nights we could have easily spent several more! The cabin was jungle rustic and also roomy, high ceilinged, spacious, clean, and well appointed - privately sited right in a rainforest parcel in a cozy little enclave of other cabins, trails and the main open reception/breakfast area (we had howler monkeys, a sloth, and amazing birds every single day in the trees above and at our cabin and from the rocking chairs and porches). Don't be concerned about the lack of AC - it was completely comfortable and oftentimes quite cool. Breakfasts were homemade traditional costa rican, including fresh juice and fruit plate - they even adjusted serving time to accommodate one if our early morning excursions. Nana and Jeff were lovely people and amazing hosts sharing their pup Dingo, stories of their farm, an umbrella during a rainy spell, and especially during our amazing homestay cooking class. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting with a local neighbor family, being welcomed into their home, learning more about their culture, sharing laughs, and bonus...making (and eating) delicious empanadas and tamales by hand (our teenagers particularly enjoyed the empanada process). Such a special time to truly experince and support local tico way of life and meet beautiful people. A gem of a stay! 10/10."

"If you enjoy unique places, Destino is a MUST DO! The photos are exactly what you get - no unpleasant surprises. The villa we stayed in for 3 nights has 2 bedrooms, each with an ensuite toilet and sink. Each has access to 2 showers, an indoor and an outdoor. The infinity pool was a fabulous way to cool down and relax after a day of hiking. The kitchen was fully equipped for four people with full sized fridge, gas oven and stove, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, small drip coffee machine, stove top expresso maker, and a ricemaker. There's air conditioning that we used only at night for sleeping. Dining is el fresco with wonderful views from the deck. Orlando was an excellent communicator and was super helpful and accommodating. The location is a little off the beaten path, but honestly, that's definitely part of the charm! The dirt road is steep in places, but absolutely no issues in our rented rear wheel drive Toyota Rush. The landscape is fun to explore, with plenty of kilometers to walk. There is a view of the Rio Blanco and a path/steps down to it for those who are able. You don't want to miss a stay at Destino! "

"Beautiful property- stayed 3 nights at a dome tent with my 7 year old- it was very modern and well equipped. Staff are great and we enjoyed the zip lining and horseback rides while at the ranch. All were extremely convenient to book during our stay- available on an hours notice. Food was excellent and traditional and the ladies in the kitchen working at the ranch were amazing. If you are looking to do a horse back ride and zip line in Costa Rica I would highly recommend staying night or so and doing the activities while enjoying the property. It’s a better day than booking a tour from the coast if you have a car IMO, simply because you have more time to enjoy nature and generally more private zip lining and horseback riding so you could accomplish more. Our stay was mid March 2025. Activity prices were reasonable as was the stay. "
