Lovely & Well Located
This property was perfect for our stay. Our activities were off site all day so we were there for breakfast, dinner, card games, and sleep. It was clean. Well stocked. Property owner was responsive. Everything worked well except the hot tub which took a long time to fill and heat, making it not useful when we needed it most after the first day of hiking. I’d happily stay here again!

Weekend getaway
Spent 4 days here as a base camp for hiking, climbing and fishing in Yosemite Valley and Tuolomne Meadows. You can’t ask for a better location! 15 min to the Valley and 1 hr to the Meadows. Quiet location. Well equipped house with just about everything you need. Owner was polite and communicated well throughout the process. We plan on staying there again.

Cozy, comfy, and spacious getaway.
We had a most wonderful stay. The home had everything we needed. We will come again next year. The happy cabin was our get away but also home base for our adventures. Half Dome, Tanaya Lake, Tuolumne Meadows and Redwood Grove. The cabin's location was peaceful and serene and conveniently close to the Yosemite Valley.

Great peaceful house close to park!
It was so great to stay at this wonderful house and only have to drive about 25 minutes to Yosemite Valley! We bought all our groceries at Pioneer Market in Mariposa and cooked all meals except one with a well stocked kitchen. We also especially loved opening the glass “wall” every evening to enjoy the outdoors . We could not have asked for a better place for the 4 of us to stay!

Beautiful location!
Staying in Yosemite and close to the valley (25 min) makes the trip so much more enjoyable. We could get anywhere within the park in about an hour and avoided the long entrance lines. There was also a lot of wildlife off the deck which we loved seeing. Unit is very clean and owners are very responsive. We would definitely recommend!

Only 1/2 hr from village! Two private bedrooms each with a full bathroom! Large living areas that open up to a large deck! Level parking and level entry! Fully stocked kitchen! Good WiFi! Beautiful ceiling to floor wall mural of the waterfalls! There was a washer and dryer! We loved the air conditioning! This is 5 star property!

Wonderful family vacation
Perfect property located inside park and just a short drive to Valley! Beautiful views from the huge deck. We loved the doors to the deck that we could open and enjoy the air. Property owner is so nice and responsive. Highly recommend and I hope to return again !

More Comfy than the "Other" Ahwahnee!
Three adults and one cat stayed here in April, threading the needle between too much snow in Yosemite and then a flooding closure. Not only did we luck out with park entry, we lucked out finding this location INSIDE the park, saving us from the drive in and waiting at the entrance kiosk every day. We thoroughly enjoyed the backyard deck, cooked in the fully stocked kitchen every night, and enjoyed being able to spread out in a home instead of a cramped hotel room. And we have to admit, it was an unexpected pleasure to have great internet access inside the N.P. Our only issue during the stay was with the heat - we couldn't figure out how to turn it off, but after communicating with the owner, we simply used the circuit breaker when we'd go out during the day. Not a bad problem to have - that it warmed up unexpectedly, lol. We would definitely come back in the future.

Perfect for Family trip to Yosemite
Located inside Yosemite National Park, this gem was the perfect home-base for our family getaway. Less than thirty minutes to Yosemite Valley and close to highways 41, 120, and 140 to visit nearby towns. Loved being able to come back after a day of hiking and sledding to hot showers and home cooked meals. Clean home, well-stocked kitchen with breakfast nook, lots of towels and blankets. Large great-room to hang-out as a family. Large closets to hang and stash clothing and gear. All of the comforts of home, including Roku and Wi-Fi. Sun-filled porch and large outdoor area for the kids and dog to explore. Owner an excellent communicator - provided detailed directions to reach the home (a bit off the beaten path) and checked in once to ensure everything was well. Would absolutely stay at the Ahweanie again!

Lovely cabin inside the park
This private home is located just above the Yosemite Valley floor. The home is lovely inside and out. We enjoyed the stars at night and coffee on the deck in the morning. We hiked, skied at Badger Pass, and enjoyed the view. A fun and relaxing get away.

Great Home Base!
This was a great home base for exploring Yosemite during our stay. The house had everything that we needed and Foresta had several nice walks or hikes including to the Forest waterfall. Our 2 year old daughter loved exploring the house and the toys and books that they had included and it was great to be able to stay in a house that was within 30 minutes of the valley - though do keep the distance in mind in your planning if you might have to go back and forth a lot (for example, to get back for naps). Would be happy to stay here again.

Great stay at the Ahweanee in Foresta
If you are looking to avoid the hustle and bustle of staying in the Valley on a trip to Yosemite, I highly recommend this property. The location is convenient to both the Valley and Tioga Rd (an area with much to enjoy). This home provides a peaceful getaway, is well-furnished and stocked, and is an ideal location for star-gazing at night. The owner was extremely responsive as well. Our family appreciated the opportunity to stay at this wonderful home. As an aside, the master bath did not have a mirror at the time we stayed. It looked like a temporary condition that coincided with our stay, and certainly did not detract from our stay.

Our family of 5 (3 adult kids ages 21-24) really enjoyed this home. After hiking 10 miles together every day, it was nice to have our own space to spread out in . The deck is very spacious; we each got our own corner. Lots of natural light. Very peaceful at night.

Communication with Alex was prompt and VERY helpful! The cabin is a wonderful location only 20 mins from the Villages and just over and hour from the meadows. It is perfectly equipped and the washer and dryer were so helpful. They have it set up so you feel like you are staying at a friends place! We really enjoyed stargazing off the deck!

Lovely House, great location
We had a great, four night stay in Foresta and would recommend it to others considering booking. The house is in a wonderful location - within Yosemite National Park - so no need to queue up to get into the park each day. The drive to the Yosemite Valley is brief and beautiful and once there it's easy to park in any of the multitude of parking areas to explore the part of the Valley you want to see. Foresta is also well located to access the Tioga road and it was only a short 20 minute drive to go and see the Sequoia grove there. It's also lovely and peaceful just staying at the house - and frankly I could have spent all week just sitting out on the deck and looking at the scenery, not to mention the incredible night skies. The house is well equipped too, kitchen resources and board games etc for the kids. We had a wonderful stay, and you will to. Thank you Alex for letting us share your beautiful house with us!

Wonderful getaway
My family and I had a great time staying here. With such close access to the valley floor, we did not spend much time at the house, other than to cook dinner and sleep. The view of El Capitan and Half dome up the street was an added bonus. Alex is a wonderful host! We can’t wait to come back!

This was a beautiful house, lots of windows so great natural light and felt like we were surrounded by nature. A short drive to yosemite, and felt so nice to come back to after escaping the crowds of the valley. Super quiet area, beautiful stars at night. Exploring the area of Foresta was a unique experience to our trip too. Would definitely recommend or stay here again.

Lack of Cleanliness - UNACCEPTABLE
If only the owner had had the place properly cleaned before our arrival, the trip would have been wonderful. After submitting photos of the uncleanliness to the owner, he tried to have the cleaning person come the next day (which she never did). Instead the cleaning person showed up later in the evening, an hour after we contacted the owner, asking to speak with who had complained about the job she did. Even though our baby was taking a nap and I was in the middle of cooking dinner, I walked her into the master bedroom and showed her the layers of dust still covering the bathroom vent and showed her pictures of the dust bunnies we had already swept up along the base boards. Plus I showed her the large pile of blankets, bedding, and curtains (that we had to take down) that were in queue for the washer and dryer. She quickly realized that maybe she hadn’t exactly gotten to every spot and said she’d return the next say (again she never did). After her departure I called the owner upset that we had to deal with his cleaner coming unannounced and upset with us to boot. He said he had to let the precious cleaner go for similar reasons and that this person was new, apparently this was her fist time cleaning the unit (which she also confirmed). Either-way, we have not heard from the owner since. I tried to propose a compromise regarding being compensated for the uncleanliness. I suggested he credit us back the last three nights as we would need to find new accommodations OR if he could discount us one nights’ fee we would continue to work through cleaning the rest of the bedding and blankets. Again, zero response after I made these suggestions. I did inform him the cleaner never came the next day, and again no response. I initiated communication with VRBO but they said they only try to reason with the owner to do what’s right. No response apparently from the owner and from VRBO for that matter. After not getting any reasonable solution, we left two nights early and went home. Even after cleaning everything, our child still was reactivity negatively to the dust and uncleanliness do the home. Forgot to mention that after washing the last blanket, we found a live 2.5inch millipede in the lint trap (which was insanely full after only washing one blanket), crazy to think that’s what we were using to cozy up with at night. Just an overall disappointment and saddened by the lack of integrity from the owner himself and from VRBO in general.

Beautiful house in a beautiful convenient setting
We had a great stay. The house is beautiful, as is the setting. A short walk down the road reveals views of Half Dome. We watched an owl sitting on a log sunning himself, and saw deer picking their way through the trees. The location is very convenient to Yosemite Valley- you don’t need to pass through a part entrance line, and the drive into the central part of Yosemite Valley is only around 30 min. The location is also convenient for visiting Tioga Rd. The house itself is comfortable, well appointed and the property owner is very responsive and helpful. Highly recommend this property!

Amazing in every way!
This is such a find! This well maintained property is fully stocked, tastefully furnished and so cozy! The beautiful decks are relaxing and great for star gazing. The area is quiet and beautiful and just up the road, there's a great view of Half Dome, especially at sunset. This is located inside Yosemite Park so it's very convenient to everything. Quiet and private
We had a wonderful stay! After days of hiking and exploring Yosemite, it was great to come back to our own private place away from the crowds in the Valley. The cabin was well appointed and had everything we needed. We loved sitting out in the porch in the mornings with a nice cup of coffee. We even stayed up to watch the Perseods showers at night and the sky was magnificent with “shooting stars”….an astronomer’s dream!…..we will be back!

Great location inside Yosemite
The location of this property was perfect for daily trips to various locations within Yosemite. About 25 minutes to the valley and even closer to Tuolumne Grove (giant sequoias). The layout of the house was great for 2 couples-master bedroom had its own bathroom and 2nd bedroom had a bathroom outside the room, so everyone had their privacy. One thing to note is that there is no dishwasher or garbage disposal. As someone who is a little finicky about cleanliness I didn’t trust that the prior occupants hand washed their dishes well enough so I rewashed all plates, cups and utensils before we used them. A dishwasher would have definitely been a plus as far as sanitation goes. I personally do not like scraping food scraps into the trash so I really missed having a garbage disposal, but to others this may not be important. The first day we were there we noticed ants on the kitchen counters so had to remove all food we had stored there. Ants were also on the cabinet shelves. Also noted them on master bath vanity. I messaged Alex through VRBO app about the ants but he did not respond. I realize there was probably nothing to be done in the moment but he needs to get an exterminator in there to place ant baits, etc before the next occupants arrive. My son and daughter-in-law noted that the 2nd bathroom toilet did not fill up with water automatically so each time they flushed they had to open the tank lid and jiggle the flapper/chain. I noticed that this was mentioned in the guest book by another guest in the past, so apparently it has not been fixed or the issue is recurring (?) We were a little hot sleeping in the evenings. Could not lower AC thermostat below 78 degrees. If you are used to sleeping in a cooler temperature this could be a source of discomfort. We had the fan on as well as opened the windows a little do that helped somewhat. Beds were comfortable but one of the pillows in master bedroom was very soft/flat. Again, this is a personal preference, but having another choice of a firmer pillow would have been appreciated. All in all, great location, nice layout/floor plan, but needs attention to maintenance and insect issues.

We had a wonderful time at this house; we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived that it's actually bigger than it seems in the photos! I was worried about fitting 5 adults and a baby into 2 bedrooms, but it was no problem. The beds were very soft. The whole place had everything we needed, from the bathroom to the kitchen to games and books. Unfortunately the hot tub was closed due to covid, but we LOVED the indoor/outdoor living space with the fully opening wall and huge deck. We bbq'd several nights and it worked great. Alex was very communicative throughout our stay. We have stayed in Foresta several times over the years and will keep coming back. The convenience to Yosemite Valley without the crowds and traffic just can't be beat!

Fantastic location!
This house is so close and convenient for going to the valley, and yet tucked away quiet and peaceful when you get home. We saw deer and ravens daily. Also be sure to do the walk “around the block” (approx 1.5 mile loop) that offers incredible vistas of El Capitan and Half Dome.

Best VRBO in the Yosemite NP AND Dog friendly Too
We stay in a lot of rental homes in all price ranges and this is the nicest rental we have stayed at. PERIOD! Yosemite Valley can be a real zoo and not very dog friendly. The Ahweaniee in Foresta provides a quiet tranquil place of refuge for you, your family and your pooch to chill after a day of sightseeing. or hiking. It's in the park so you don't need to apply for an entry permit, required because of Covid. :-( We have visited Yosemite fairly regularly over the last 30 years. This is our new favorite lodging. Check it out.

So close to Nature and Yosemite Valley
You really feel like you are in nature while staying at this home. We saw many deer, birds, and bobcats. The drive into Yosemite valley is an easy 20 minute ride. It was so nice to leave the busy Valley and come back to the house where it is quite and peaceful.

Cozy Cabin
We loved staying at this cozy cabin. It is tucked away in a convenient location that is just 15 minutes from the valley floor. The weather outside was snowy but, thanks to the wood burning stove, we were warm and comfortable indoors. The kitchen was fully stocked - which made preparing our own meals easy peasy! We hiked on the trails in the valley and, on the one day when it snowed most of the day, we snuggled up inside and played board games and made cookies. This is a great cabin and the perfect place to say when visiting Yosemite. We will be back!

Amazing Location and Perfect Cozy Cabin
What a lovely stay, so close to Yosemite Valley and incredibly comfortable and cozy. It's 30 min max to the valley and the views on the drive in to go hiking everyday were such a highlight, can't be beat. The wood burning stove for heat was my favorite part. Kitchen is fully stocked, everything you could need. Loved all the board games and puzzles and interesting books in the house, we only turned the TV on once to watch a movie, it's that facilitating for a quiet, decompressing experience (great wifi though if you need to check in) Perfect for a much needed getaway this fall, can't wait to go back! Thank you!

Perfect Yosemite getaway
We spent four wonderful nights in this charming, inviting house. The decor is indeed “Yosemite mountain”, with some interesting Native American wall art and area rugs. Everything was very clean, all sanitized in this pandemic era. The kitchen was well stocked with most everything needed to prepare meals. There were abundant cleaning supplies and hand sanitizer throughout the house. We bbq’d every evening, sat and ate all our meals on the expansive deck overlooking tree covered hills and mountain vistas. In fact, walking a couple hundred yards up the road from this house you can see Yosemite Valley with El Capitan and Half Dome in the distance. As reviewers mention, the drive to Yosemite Valley is only about 15 minutes. This time of year the surrounding neighborhood was very quiet. From the deck we were regularly visited by squirrels, birds, deer, and twice by a passing coyote around dusk. At night we were serenaded by a couple of owls. Alex, our host and home owner was extremely easy to work with. Because of nearby fires, the smoke and air quality was so poor that Yosemite NP had to close for a number of weeks, opening only the day before our arrival. Alex was prepared to be flexible with our plans as Yosemite readied to re-open. Alex was very prompt in every correspondence we had and was always available for any questions if needed. We enjoyed our stay so much we are already pondering our plans to return in the Spring, ‘21. This is a wonderful property and we highly recommend!

This was a very comfortable, nice home to stay in. It has a personal touch that I appreciate when I stay in a vrbo. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals. The large deck and window wall that completely opened was a super bonus. All the directions from the owner were clear and detailed. He was also easy to get a hold of directly. Perfect Yosemite getaway
We loved our stay at this fantastic cabin in Yosemite! The cabin had everything we needed and more, even fun books and games. We enjoyed watching deer and eating on the lovely deck. The close proximity to everything in the valley was great for hiking and biking and then heading back to the house for dinner. I would jump at any opportunity to stay here again and would highly recommend It to anyone who gets a chance!
