Firstly, this is an amazing place. The staff are an absolute asset to this place. So so lovely we felt like family. Had my vow renewal here and very decent price for this- mostly complimentary. Thereza was amazing and very concerned about weather on the day as had unexpected amount during our stay. The food was fabulous. Sit down meals, not buffet which was lovely. Chef will make you anything you want although there is a set menu. Had all inclusive stay. Beach villa did not have a private pool. I wish we booked a cheaper villa with a private pool (note messais are security and walk around the villas often so not fully private). Not massively child friendly- no TV channels or much to do- but staff were lovely to my kids. Very clean villa and hardly any bugs inside. Restaurant entertainment were great every night. Dinner starts at 8 which is late for kids but they will serve for kids earlier. Complementary room service. Now for the price, the villas are not amazing. Bathroom is not luxury, no toothbrushes, poor hairdryer, no hand soap as I would have expected. Kids bed faced directly on our bed which wasn’t great. You are paying for the amazing staff and food. Great spa and you get complimentary massage per person staying (including kids). I was expecting a much better resort and facilities for the price but staying elsewhere in Zanzibar made me realise how important great food and service is which Tulia definitely has. I would stay again purely for this.

From the free return transfers, to the welcome on arrival, to the staff, the food, everything was amazing! All inclusive includes a la carte menu for all meals of the day (not buffet). The staff are the best thing about this place. They were very welcoming and friendly. The free 60 minute massage was amazing. There is entertainment at every dinner. We saw some really good performances with all guests and staff getting involved in singing and dancing. I dont have anything negative to say about my stay here. We definitley received luxury treatment, however I do still think its slightly overpriced per night. My sister celebrated her 10 year wedding anniversary here and Tereza and the team did everything they could to make the day special. The feedback would be given the price of the hotel, I'd have expected more to do at the resort. For e.g. there are treatment rooms for massages but no spa fscilities such as jacuzzi, sauna, indoor pools etc. I'd have also expected more luxurious decor. For e.g. the bathroom is very basic. We have checked into another hotel (residence zanzibar) and already i can say this does not compare to Tulia at all! When we left we were given a small gift which was very lovely from Tulia. Will definitley miss our stay here and all the people we met.

Everything at Tulia was lovely. The gardens surrounding the rooms were exquisitely manicured and the vegetable garden was impressive. the entire property was very picturesque and the staff could not have been nicer. They made us feel like family. i would highly recommend this resort

We had a great experience here. The staff was so helpful and friendly. Henry was a great host and answered all our questions and took us on an interesting tour of the hotel--vegetable garden, duck and chicken yard, eco-friendly aspects, operations with explanations of staff experience. The only draw back is that there is a large tidal shift everyday and there is not a traditional beach at this hotel. The hotel is actually set up on a rocky bluff. They have built a sandy area on the bluff and you can look out over the ocean. You take stairs down to the water and can walk to the next hotel over and sit on the beach when the tide is out. The villas are not set up for kids as there are no railings and there is quiet a drop off the bluff. The villa had a wonderful porch with lounge chairs, a couch and chairs. It was wonderful to watch the sunrise! We also enjoyed a great massage at the spa again the staff was super friendly and made for a great experience!

Oasis in Zanzibar
Tulia is where dreams are made. Beautiful villas, ours was only seven steps to the water and had everything to make our stay comfortable, excellent bed, quiet, great shower and bath area, nice seating, good wifi and a desk for my computer. The grounds are magnificent and they have their own farm so all the food was super fresh. The food could be a reason to come here on its own. Gourmet Traveller magazine would be thrilled to do an article. We have been to Michelin restaurants which don't measure up to the presentation and ingredients in every meal . There is a decent wine list and a very comprehensive bar. The shining light though is the amazing quality of their staff, charming, knowledgeable and just perfect. We will certainly come back, we were so sorry to leave.

We have stayed at many beach resorts in different countries around the world and none of them would top Tulia. It is just a fantastic small resort and everyone there seems to go out of their way to make you feel welcome and make your time there enjoyable. As we're from the United States we just wish it was closer but if we have the opportunity to visit that part of the world again we will definitely try and stay a few days at Tulia Zanzibar.

The food was excellent, compliments to the head Chef! I was celebrating my 40th birthday and this property with the beautiful white beach and clear ocean blue water was amazing! The hotel staff were friendly and thought of everything! And the best part of the trip was meeting, Hassan, an excursion tour manager on the beach 255-772-866-086! His services were excellent! He took incredible care of us from beginning to end. We did three tours, Safari Blue, Quads (ATV's) and Stone town/Prison Island. He and his partner were extremely professional, drove us everywhere and stuck by our sides to answer any questions we had. And for my birthday he arranged for a traditional band to play music, sing and dance, and they even brought me a cake. This was the best trip ever. If you you think about doing a tour, do it with Hassan and his team! They will take GREAT care of you!

The most incredible stay that I’ve ever had! Their attention to guests, service, upkeep… it’s exclusive and remote and beautiful!! The food, drinks and entertainment was wonderful! Lots of included activities like sailing, paddle boarding, spa etc. we went for our honeymoon and they set up a romantic private dinner for us! Would highly recommend staying and hope to go back again!

A pristine property with a magnificent beach the only thing I would say is that the kitchen leave some thing to be improved on breakfast and lunch is excellent but dinner is always medium marginal at the cost per night it’s surprising that you wouldn’t have a little larger menu to choose from

The best!
This is quite possibly the best hotel I have ever been to (and I’ve traveled a decent amount)! I was speechless! The staff and managers were just incredible! The rooms were lovely, the whole atmosphere was amazing, and everything was fresh and cozy. I cannot recommend this hotel enough!

Paradise in Zanzibar
Overall beyond happy that I stayed in this beautiful private hotel. The staff were wonderful and I felt like I was part of the family. Food was excellent and it’s all organic and freshly picked from their own farm. My room was awesome. The surroundings were beautiful. It’s like paradise. It was worth splurging and hopefully I get to come back again. I love Tulia!

The place is exceptionally welcoming and was greeted with amazing smiles and definitely needed this time to kick start my vacation. Really enjoyed the stay i would recommend the place if you want to try something different and far away from the city life. And enjoy some peace and quiet and make beautiful memories. Everyone was friendly and accommodate our needs The bed room was comfortable and clean but as if for the bed and pillow selection it maybe it could have been a bit softer ( feathers ) The spa was beautifully decorated, however there was a clock in the room that was ticking which kind of was annoying. As i payed attention to details. And just a suggestion, below the massgae table maybe have a bowl of lavenders or some kind of live petals but this is just my preference. I think i would enhence the experience. The food was amazing!

Perfect end to our honeymoon
My wife and I stayed for 5 nights as part of our honeymoon after being in South Africa for 10 non- stop days! Everything from the first to the last day was perfect. We were all inclusive in a garden bungalow. We started everyday day with a private yoga session on our balcony followed by breakfast then paddle boarding, snorkelling and sailing..! We also went jogging and hired the electric scooters to explore the nearby villages. All the staff can’t do enough to make sure you’re happy and nothing is too much trouble. The entertainment each night is great and I organised private dining for our anniversary which was complete with fairly lights and banana leaves in arches over the table, very special! Would definitely recommend this amazing hotel to anyone who loves great food and high level of service, loves beautiful gardens and stunning beaches. But also if you like to do activities during the day it’s perfect as there’s so much to do within the resort and around Zanzibar! We left feeling very relaxed and spoilt, this hotel is everything you could dream about, honestly!

Positives: - Food was tasty and they were super accommodative when it came to modifications. Vegetables were always nicely cooked! - Rooms were spacious and well kept - Service was professional and on point - Free yoga classes were a nice unexpected perk - The use of paper straws instead of plastic was nice to see - Scheduling day trips was easy and efficient - Complimentary room service was great Negatives: - The shows at dinner can become a touch long and loud, especially as they happen every night. - We were under the impression that the resort was 18+ but there were quite a few children/teens/families staying there. - Not many other towns/food options in the area which is fine because the food at Tulia was more than enough

Everything was amazing. We stayed at three different resorts in Zanzibar since we heard that the tides and beaches were all different. We stayed at the Hilton DoubleTree, the Royal Zanzibar, and Tulia, and Tulia was by far the best. The villas are absolutely beautiful. We had so much space, and everything was clean and modern. The AC worked like a charm. Since you each have your own villa, you also have your own patios. We didn't stay on the oceanfront villas, but we could still see the ocean from our patio/windows. The staff was amazing. They were the kindest and most helpful people we encountered anywhere in Tanzania. There are 25 gardeners for the 16 villas. Since they grow their own vegetables, the food is very fresh, and the chef there is very talented. We only had the breakfast plan, but breakfast is massive and got us through the day without needing lunch. The beach is private, so you fortunately don't have anyone trying to sell you anything the second you step onto the beach like in other parts of the island. Tulia is definitely pricier than the other places we stayed, but it balanced itself with free private yoga sessions, free transfers, complimentary bottle of wine, and a free 1-hour massage.

The property is beautiful and exceptionally maintained! We arrived 3 hours earlier than standard check-in but we were still escorted to our bungalow immediately. The food was so delicious that my boyfriend asked to meet the chef. The staff is so friendly & really make you feel at home. This beach resort exceeded our expectations. Staff were extremely friendly, hospitable and fun! Shout out to Prosper, Cha Cha and Gideon who paid attention to their guests and replenished drinks, and for always checking up on us to make sure we were okay. Sarka, Emmanuel, and Dorca for their kind demeanour and really making us feel cared about. From start to finish they made our honeymoon so very special with all of their extra little details such as a bottle of wine on arrival, complementary couples massage, surprise dinner, departure gifts, and floral decor left on our bed after room cleaning. I can’t say enough good things. My husband and I travel and like to stay in 5 star resorts but have never had this kind of hospitality ever. Tulia is the absolute best.

Excellent service and amazing beach resort
Beautiful resort with an amazing staff. You will be amazed by the views and the beach. Also the staff is unparalleled. All inclusive really means all inclusive. Want a nice bottle of wine with every dinner? No problem. The free couples massage was great too. My only small issue is that all meals are taken in the same restaraurt. While the food is very good it can start to get a bit tiring eating in the same place with some repeated options. For a short stay it’s perfect.

Tulia Resort is truly exceptional! From the moment we arrived to the resort we were greeted with the warmest welcome. The staff went out of their way to make sure every guest had the best experience. They made our honeymoon truly so special, and we hope to go back to relive the memories. I can't recommend this place enough!

Incredible, Amazing, I want to go back!
This resort is incredible, the food was like nothing I've had at a hotel in my life, I wish I could have tried more meals as everything on the menu was 5 star. We purchased the all inclusive package and the drinks and alcohol were all top of the line, none of that watered down cheap stuff at other resorts. The staff was beyond kind, respectful, prompt and willing to help in any way they could. I felt pampered and appreciated the entire trip. The resort itself was serene, peaceful and calm. We would have loved to meet more people but everyone seemed quiet and to themselves. It's perfect for a honeymoon. The room was paradise, romantic and spotlessly clean. The beach is beautiful, we made use of the kayaks and had an amazing time. The massages were the most relaxing experience in a beautiful place. We can't wait to go back, this was a dream come true! We miss you all, thank you to everyone who took such wonderful care of us!

Honeymoon in Zanzibar / Tulia Unique Resort
The hotel was amazing. All the staff were fantastic, the food was supurb and the location - right on the Indian Ocean was excellent. We would absolutely go back!

Paradise hotel! Not a bad word to say about
From the moment when we arrived tI’ll the moment when we left, we’ve got the feeling like we are king and a queen! Everything that we wanted, they were there for us and make sure that we will have:) the food over there is incredible !!! Amazing chef! The room was all the time clean ! For the ocean we used kayaks and snorkeling that the hotel gave for us. Very good equipment! Everything was perfect and we definitely will come back!!!! Thanks for everything:)

Wonderful honeymoon stay!!
The resort was first class with staff that could not do enough for you. From the minute we arrived till the minute we left we were well taken care of. There were some facilities still in the making like the gym and shop, but this was in Nov 2017 so they may have already been completed. The grounds have the most beautiful gardens and rooms were gorgeous. I would definitely recommend this to a couple or family who want a quiet and restful holiday!

Sophisticated hideaway
Very well kept. Exceptionally modern and sophisticated. I loved the room. It was very cozy and clean. Exactly as on pictures...if not better.
