"The Dorint in Beatenberg offers fantastic view of Lake Thun, atop a hilly mountain, surrounded by splendid trees and silence. The lake view rooms are spectacular. Breakfast is long - till 11am, allowing you to take all your time to have a fantastic spread of food before you start your adventure. The rooms are clean, each having a balcony. One thing to keep in mind is that it's not walkable to any place; you have to take the Bus 101 from Interlaken West to get here, and vice versa; it takes around 30 minutes in bus to reach Dorint from Interlaken West station. The bus leaves every hour from Dorint to go to Interlaken. Also, most people are not aware of a fantastic cable car system which takes you down to the bus route; the cable car is a few minutes walk from the hotel. The cable car also takes you UP to a very high point, from where you can see pretty much all of Alps -its an amazing hidden treasure that Dorint provides which most people are probably not aware about! Overall, this is fantastic haven nestled amongst beautiful nature."

"Very nice hotel with lots of room (sitting rooms, outdoor seating areas, etc), a wonderful breakfast, nice swimming pool and large well-manicured grounds. The restaurant is very good but make sure you make a reservation before 5 pm."

"We took the train to Thun and then the bus to the hotel (bus stop is right outside). It’s a lovely hotel with amazing views over the lake. We were upgraded to a larger room with a balcony overlooking the lake which was just so calming to sit out on and relax (even if it was raining as the balcony was sheltered). The room was a little old fashioned, we had booked a more modern room but the upgraded room whilst larger was the old style. However, this was made up for by the views. Staff were very friendly and sorted us out with free bus passes. We ate at the Italian nearby which I would recommend. We then took the bus on to Interlaken which is another scenic journey (sit on right on bus!)"

"Our room was 218, the BEST room in the hotel, overlooking the wooden bridge. Slept every night with doors open listening to the rush of the water. Staff were nice and helpful. Thun is a small town but very quaint and worth a short visit. No better hotel than Hotel Aare Thun. "

"Honestly this is the best hotel we have stayed in Europe by far! The view is stunning, room is spacious, clean & comfy. They have the most delicious breakfast buffet with very nice and professional staff. Also need to mention the male front desk staff who did check-out process for us was super friendly and even gave us some water and a jam. Small things make hospitality memorable ;) "

"Staff were warm, helpful, friendly and courteous. The view of the lake, snow capped mountains and nearby old church was exactly what I desired and very breathtaking. Transportation was accessible to other areas as the bus stops were close by. We were also very happy to be surprised by the hotel with area bus passes to the surrounding areas, this made getting around a whole lot easier and we are very grateful for that. After visiting Interlaken and Grindelwald, which were very congested with other tourists, we were certainly extremely happy with our decision to stay at Bellevue Au Lac. We had a most pleasant stay, Hotel Bellevue Au Lac would definitely be our first choice if we decide to return to the area. "
