Love the property. Been staying there for decades. I asked for an extra hour late check out which was denied. I was ok with that and departed on time but was then charged over $600 for a late check out. I had to make several calls and spent a lot of time getting it reversed and my credit card credited.

- Great food! Great amenities! Great section of the beach! Rooms were clean and modern!
Negatives
- Staff checking us in were not overly helpful - very transactional and seemed annoyed with any questions.
- Beach had a lot of garbage - would be great if people would clean up after themselves, but if not, if there was staff to help pick up the garbage.

I really enjoyed the location of the property and the decor of the hotel was lovely. The breakfast was awesome! There was a small issue with the bed linens not looking freshly cleaned, and especially on the sofa bed, but once we spoke to front desk they immediately responded and provided cleaned bedsheets. The staff was very attentive and pleasant. I would definitely stay at the Riu Plaza Hotel again.
