When it is time for a break, the estate also provides a comfortable fishermen’s hut. The Glenrossal Estate is an excellent centre for salmon, trout and sea fishing. The local area has many breathtaking hill lochs inhabited with wild brown trout and with the east coast 15 miles away and the west coast only 30 miles, the keen fisherman should never be short of sport. Licences must be obtained beforehand so please contact the estate directly to check availability. Rowan Cottage is ideally located for exploring the best of the Highlands. 10/10 Excellent

The cottage was absolutely superb.

The cottage was absolutely superb. It was like a tardis. Looked really small from the outside but was plenty of room on the inside. Garden was kept immaculately tidy. It's at least a 10 - 15 minute drive from the shops at Lairg but if you're looking for a quiet spot to relax then it's perfect for you. The house had everything we needed. Prepare for midges with plenty smidge spray or even a net if you want to go out and enjoy the area. Some days they weren't about, most they weren't too bad but the morning we left they were terrible. Myself, partner, 3 kids and 2 dogs loved it. We will be back.
