"Lovely hotel with good size, clean rooms and very friendly and helpful staff, set in a great location for anyone who likes to get out for a walk. No shops bars or restaurants around which means the hotel restaurant is the only option, and that's what lets the hotel down. The food is poor, even the new menu is basic food but it is cooked badly. First night I had sea bass which was ok but the veg was soggy mush and I sent it back, it was replaced with carrots and parsnips which were tasteless....

"Stayed for a few days and enjoyed the scenery lovely double room facing the water, view was stunning, an easy 10 min stroll to Rathmullan, only 2 issues/gripes was no internal access to restaurant from hotel, no great when weather isn’t the best and no bed and breakfast option so need to pay between 10-14 euro if you want breakfast. No issues with auto check in and rooms made every day and staff very friendly and helpful."

"Beautiful rooms, clean, fresh and very new. Right in the middle of town, parking available in the front of the building. There is no food available at the hotel, but there are some great food places within view… A proper Irish pub location."

"We had a wonderful 3 nights at Madra Rua. The breakfasts were excellent and we found it a perfect location from which to explore the Inishowen Peninsula. Comfortable beds and we had a great view of the bay. Highly recommended. "

"Beautiful location overlooking Lough Swillly. Golf course and beach are 2 minutes away. Loved staying at the house with great facilities and really comfortable beds. Liam is a very accommodating host, always available and checking that we had all that we needed. Highly recommended!"

I hit my forehead on the glass shelf below the mirror/above the sink when I was freshening up in the evening, and almost again the next morning. The room itself was also smaller than expected, but adequate. Then next morning at breakfast we were given a single (two-person) table which was extremely cramped and a hassle to negotiate once the...
