"The place is an oasis in the city. Very convenient for exploring the city and felt safe. A charming place. There were some issues with cleanliness though such as smelly pillows and dust & dirty floors. But the bathroom and kitchen were spotless. The kitchen could have done with some items such as a washing-up bowl or plug. But overall it was a very pleasant place and the owner was very good at communicating with us. "

"The apartment was in a lovely location—nicely tucked away from the hustle and bustle, yet just a short walk to everything. Overall, the place was okay, but it could really use a deep clean from top to bottom. There was a faint smell of mold and cigarette smoke, and unfortunately, the strong smoke odor from the stairwell also made its way into the apartment. "The Hotel is in a great location, right on the beach and a short distance (approx 15-20 mins walk) from the more lively area of Giardini Naxos. There are numerous excellent restaurants and shops within yards of the hotel. The bus stop is just around the corner with good transport links to nearby towns. The hotel was wonderful; great facilities, with enormous, traditionally decorated, very comfortable bedrooms, while other areas of the hotel were more contemporary but equally comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with a huge choice. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. An added joy was Mount Etna right there in the background! This holiday and hotel exceeded our expectations and we had absolutely no complaints."

"Loved staying st this hotel. Perfect to stay in Catania for 1 night as our flight landed late. Upgrading for breakfast on the roof terrace is worth it for a first view of Etna on our trip. The breakfast was excellent. Staff were lovely. An extremely smart hotel on the Main Street, doubt you can’t get much better in Catania"

"Amazing stay. The room and property were gorgeous and the view was even better. It was a short walk to restaurants and the main pedestrian street in Taormina. Just far enough away to be relaxing but close enough to be convenient. I highly recommend staying here!"

"I cannot fault the hotel. It’s situated in a beautiful spot above Taormina called CastelMola. The hotel is stunningly rustic with jaw dropping views of Mount Etna and the surrounding mountains. The hotel staff were so helpful, kind and fun. The hotel has a great breakfast and is two mins walk from CastelMola village which has great shops and a few lovely restaurants. I am so glad we stayed here rather in the heart of Taormina. It was just perfect. "

"I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights with my older teenage son at the end of June and we had a fantastic time. It's very well located with a 3 minute walk into Taormina town plus a cliff side setting with amazing views down to the sea, across to mainland Italy and the wider area around Taormina. Our room was a bit of a squeeze but they accommodated our request for two single beds, rather than a double, and it came with a fabulous view of the sea. The air con was highly appreciated due to the high temperatures and the room met all our basic needs. It was slightly dated but did not spoil the enjoyment of our holiday plus the beds were very comfortable and we slept well. Breakfast was included and was buffet-style which suited us perfectly. The staff were mainly very helpful and polite - Giuseppe on the pool bar was excellent, all the reception staff were super helpful and polite, plus Nancy in the dining room was always smiling and happy to make me fresh coffees in the morning! They all spoke good English which we were thankful for. We ate at the hotel restaurant once while we there, it was empty apart from us but the food was delicious and the service was efficient and friendly. I would happily stay at the Splendid hotel again, if I'm ever lucky enough to be back in Taormina, and would highly recommend it based on all the above plus the reasonable cost. "

"The location is perfect to explore Taormina with shops, restaurants and tourist attractions within a few minutes walk. The hotel itself is unique built into the cliff and the views are breathtaking. The pool is clean is spacious and always had sun loungers available. Our room was fairly basic but it was extremely clean! The front desk could be a little bit more friendly, but overall the staff across the hotel were fine. Be aware that the hotel does not offer an iron or ironing board, which was pretty inconvenient. Overall, I’d highly recommend this hotel due to its location in Taormina. "
