"We’ve stayed here before. We got to the hotel this time at 6 pm and our room still wasn’t ready, which is a first (that late in the evening), after staying in hundreds of hotels. So we changed into swimwear in our car, and went to the pool with our luggage. There was not ONE SINGLE CLEAN TOWEL. Not one. So we’re getting out of the water, freezing because there’s no way to dry off. That was also a first, for a hotel. We finally got access to our room at 7:30 pm, which is ridiculous. Our balcony was overlooking literally a giant air conditioning unit. Even my kids mentioned it was the worst view they’d ever seen. The kids had fun at the pool. There were other very nice guests we chatted with. But not having our room ready at 6 pm(!!) and no towels at all at the pool, make me think this place is horrible understaffed. We have three young kids so we tried to get late checkout, and we were told it “doesn’t exist”. Horrible. Omni nearby is 100x better. "

"The National park is about 1 hour away but an easy drive. Walking distance to lots of downtown shops & restaurants. The pool area is very nice too. This is not a huge hotel but the location is perfect. Also not a far drive to the Palm Springs Tram. I would stay here again"

"Palm Spring experienced a March heatwave with temperatures up to 102f. Our suite was on the top floor and the aircon was inadequate to manage a reasonable room temperature so we slept very badly. A rather unsympathetic maintenance man, with his very pleasant assistant, visited and adjusted the vents. However, this just made things even worse. Finally, we were moved to a lower floor, and the temperature was OK. Not the sort of thing one expects from a 4star+ hotel at $400+ per night im Palm Springs which frequently endures these temperatures in the summer months. This is not our first stay at this hotel which is, in all other respects, absolutely outstanding with a wonderful pool area, sumptuously well- equipped gym .... I could go on!"

"I’ve lived in Palm Springs and visited hundreds of times since I moved away, and was excited to try the historic tennis club after visiting the incredible Spencer’s restaurant. This is very much a “pros and cons” place, and will determine if it’s for you. Check in is late snd checkout is early (4:30 and 10:30), our room wasn’t ready until almost 5 despite calling in advance hoping for an early check in (we had massages at 3), they initially refused a late check out to make up for it, and I pushed for it later and finally had my request filled. They do not provide any maid service, you can call to request most towels coffee and toiletries- that’s it. Pros: reasonable pricing, beautiful mountain nestle location, room has a kitchenette, and the area is lovely and quiet right against the mountain. If you don’t mind having 0 housekeeping, and a late check in with a fairly strict 10:30 check out time aren’t deal breakers for you, you may love it. The fact that the room had a kitchenette with a dishwasher makes this a good spot for a longer stay if you want to cook, and tenge balcony facing the quiet road is nice and shaded. If you’re staying for a shorter period, and aren’t going to utilize the kitchen, I would look else where. The true gem here in Spencer’s restaurant, which can be attended whether you stay at the tennis club or not."
