"The unit was excellent but the when we arrived and I asked if he wanted the Expedia booking reference he rambled on about ‘fat cats in America’ taking money offshore and that it’s better to look up the price on there and then to call the motel direct (to cut out the middle man).
Was unimpressed to be lecture us like this? if you want to advertise on their platform accept get they take a commission and don’t try to circumvent the process that brought the customer to you. "
"The beds were so comfortable, it was really quiet considering it’s in a fairly busy road. Had everything we needed, and was close to where we needed to go.. would definitely stay again"
"Host was pleasant however limited English. Office was kept locked at all times giving sense of safety issues. Room was noisy. Missing bathmat. Shower mixer appeared broken so either freezing or scolding hot with very low water pressure. Had to ask for wifi code which we couldn't get to work. Stark 80s style room with no decor at all. Tiny tv"

"We stayed at the Airport Gateway Motor Lodge for 2 separate nights.
Once on our 12.05am arrival to Christchurch where Lexi was such a fantastic ball of energy when she came to pick us up from the airport, that she gave us a 2nd wind. We couldn't have asked for better.
Later on in the morning, due to a few major hiccups, we had a rocky start to our holiday. I was quite upset but Jacqui was the most helpful, calming & understanding person we could have met. It was as if she was tuned into my anxiety & not once did she make me feel rushed or embarrassed.
Without Jacqui I probably would have had a meltdown.
Due to the service & positive vibes we received, we decided to stay the night before we went home to Australia.
From now on, the Airport Gateway Motor Lodge is our first point of call whenever we go to Christchurch.
Thanks Jacqui, Lexi and the other lovely staff (including your beautiful office manager puppy). xoxo"
"Very tidy, spacey and comfy place to stay for a big group or family. Close to hornby hub and wigram shopping area. And the double garage was great! Beds were more to a hard level. Not too comfy for those who love to sleep on a soft to medium bed. Luckily, all my 4 sisters love to sleep on a hard bed! Some kitchen items and furniture were quite worn out, and the breakfast chairs were also wobbly (need some fixing or replacements) as they can be dangerous to sit on. The only thing that might be good for an improvement (not sure if possible), is the location of the house is not accurate when using the gps. We arrived late around 11pm, so it was harder to find the house. During our stay there, i tried to update the google map for the house location twice, but nothing has changed. Google map still did not give me the right direction to the location. So, not sure if there's anything to do there. Maybe the property agent can provide a clear direction upon check in for future guest. Overall, we enjoyed our 7 days stay at the property. Paula and the team were very helpful and accomodating with fast response to any queries. Thanks for hosting us and being such an amazing host! Wishing you all the best with your holiday home rentals! Best regards,Suciana "

"We enjoyed our stay at this property and found everything to be very tidy, clean and neat. The property was in a great location, to access everywhere in Christchurch city and the street was lovely and quiet. Communication was fantastic from the property owner. My husband did find the beds firmer than he preferred. The only thing that let this property down is not being told before we arrived that the laundry was outside. We had to walk around the side of the house to access it and got wet when it rained while doing the washing. "
