Fabulous property
This is an amazing villa in the beautiful touristic town of Praia da Luz. The house is super charming and the gardens are beautiful. There is a ton of space and everything is kept in great condition. Amelia is the housekeeper and she comes daily to clean and take care of the house. She is super nice and is there to help with anything needed. The location is prime with only a short walk to the beach, restaurants, cafes, etc. I absolutely recommend booking this property if you are lucky to find it available. Next time I am booking a longer stay here... two days are definitely not enough to enjoy it!

Fantastic in every way!
The property is remarkable- perfect location, beautifully maintained gardens, and an amazingly helpful housekeeper. We went over Thanksgiving week and the town of Luz (5 minute walk from house) was ideal - many open restaurants but no crowds. Everyone in our family wants to return.

A vacation from our vacation!
What a beautiful stay! The villa was very large with lots of outdoor seating options. Pool was great, heated just enough to take the chill off. A short walk to the beach and restaurants. Very well-equipped kitchen and outdoor BBQ. Beautiful gardens. We highly recommend!

Thanks! Casa da Figueira's location in the quiet Parque da Praia is indeed perfect. It is a quiet area on the East side of the beach that was developed back in the 1960s. It is only a 2 min walk to the beach and a 5 min walk to great restaurants on the beach promenade as well as a very nice cliff hike to Lagos. Hope you can come again!

This is an excellently located and well appointed villa. The housekeeper is truly delightful, very helpful and discreet. The owners were swiftly and positively reactive when I approached them with a couple of questions. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa da Figeuira.

Most incredible vacation rental ever
This rental must be seen to really absorb what an incredible property it is. My 20- something son and daughter are still gushing over it, as are we. The grounds are filled with walkways and beautiful gardens, lime trees, flowers galore, and so much space and privacy. It looks like a beautiful painting so we all took many photos while there just to capture the colors and design of it all. The bedrooms are enormous, pool is pristine and heated if you choose, there is a large amount of outdoor furniture to enjoy family meals outside as well as padded lounge chairs for reading and relaxing after a swim. We just could not get over the huge new kitchen and all the books to choose from. In short, this is paradise. I hope to get back to Algarve so we can stay here again. There is simply nothing that compares and we have rented many properties for trips as a family. The owner is available to communicate with at all times and the housekeeper Amelia does all of your laundry and dishes for you. I could go on and on. This is heaven. Highly recommend.

Wonderful villa in a great location
We had a wonderful holiday here, the villa is spacious, beautiful gardens, great pool and spotlessly clean, thanks to Amelia. The villa is only a couple of minutes walk from the beach, restaurants and shops. We recieved great instructions before our visit, access was easy and Amelia helped us with any queries during our stay. Cleaning each week day was thorough but discreet. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Superb spacious traditional villa ideally located
Located just a short walk to the beach, the villa is set in lovely mature gardens with a generous swimming pool with plenty of sun loungers. Three spacious bedrooms and bathrooms with plenty of scope for our larger family of adults to eat inside or out, games and films provided and nothing missed. All immaculately maintained by an attentive and helpful maid who visits all weekdays. Perfect for us!

Beautiful Luz Home and Pool!!!
My family and I stayed at Casa da Figueira recently for 5 nights and we had a wonderful experience. The home is well located near the Praia da Luz (a 5 - 10 minute walk) as well as near many restaurants and shops in the charming (and less crowded!) beach town of Luz. Amelia, the on site housekeeper, took wonderful care of doing our laundry, making the beds, and generally making our stay memorable. The pictures of the home are very accurate, and the pool and grounds are impressive and very well maintained. We ate out every lunch and dinner, so we only used the well stocked kitchen for breakfast and feeding our 8 month old granddaughter (high chair and crib available). We would highly recommend Casa da Figueira for families and/or couples who want a relaxing vacation escape close to a beach with a wonderful pool as well as beautiful grounds and landscaping. Casa da Figueira is truly a paradise found in the Algarve.

Absolutely Beautiful Property
Where do I start.....this property is amazing. Pictures do not do it justice. The entire place inside and out was spotless, old world charm. The pool area was immaculate and much needed after a long day of exploring. What a treat to pick fresh lemons from the lemon trees right outside the kitchen and bbq in the outdoor grill. Amelia was a delight and took very good care of us. She was lovely! The property is very private, and is a short walk to the beach and numerous restaurants. We have been to many VRBO properties and Sophie is by far the best host we have had. Welcoming, clear property instructions and quick to answer any emails or questions we had. Praia da Luz is a must see and wouldn't be complete without a stay at this spectacular property!!!! Thank you from our group of 6 for making this a very memorable vacation!!

This villa is beautifully kept and very well equipped. It is a credit to the owners and the housekeeper. It is surprisingly peaceful as it is only 5 minutes walk from the beach and the catering facilities. Please do not book it until I have decided on my dates next year!!

Fantastic villa
We have been renting villas in the Algarve over the last 10 years and this is by far the best we’ve had.Amelia was amazing, plentiful supply of clean towels and bedding changed twice during our stay.We had a problem with the water supply during our first week when the local council turned all the water to the villa off but Amelia was as able to communicate with them and sort out a temporary fix which lasted for our stay. Unfortunately she wasn’t able to get us English TV which normally wouldn’t have bothered us but would have liked to watch the coverage of Queen Elizabeth’s passing. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend villa to all our friends and family.

Hi Betty, thank you for vacationing at Casa da Figuiera. I am so sorry the main water pipe to the house broke while you were there. It was indeed fantastic that Amelia coordinated with the town to get it fixed. I will need to look into the cable TV channels. We recently switched to NOS as the cable provider and I am surprised that the English channels did not work. I will check it when I am in Casa da Figueira this winter and write up clear instructions for future clients. In the mean time there is always the possibility of connecting via the HDMI cable to the smart TV. Most clients watch live streamed events via their phone or tablet onto the TV screen. This property is amazing. It’s quiet , private and close to everything you need. You can walk everywhere. Amelia is wonderful. We didn’t have a car for most of the time we spent at the house. We rented a car in Luz for 3 days to see the rest of the Algarve. So many restaurants within a five minute walk. We loved our stay and hopefully we will return soon.

5 stars is not enough!!!
If anything , we overbooked our day trips, Which limited our time at this very special villa. What a luxury, though, to come home to a sparkling house with our laundry done! Housekeeper Amelia is a wonderful bonus to this stellar accommodation and I would recommend it to anyone. The house is charming and comfortable with a top notch kitchen, and the grounds are beautifully laid out with mature, diverse plantings from the orangerie to cacti and palms. Sigh. We just left and I can’t wait to go back!

Incredible house with amazing gardens
Sophie's house is a really wonderful oasis and perfect for a relaxing break. Its traditional design is charming with lots of alcoves and quiet corners to relax in. The real attraction is the huge garden that's great to explore and the lovely pool. The house is minutes away from the beach, shops and restaurants. And is a perfect location to explore the Western Algarve.

Lovely stay at Casa da Figueira
We cannot recommend staying at Casa da Figueira highly enough. From the start the process was smooth and painless and Sophie was extremely quick to answer any inquiries we had. The property and grounds are very well kept, secluded and a pleasure to be in. The amenities and equipment at the property cover everything you could need. The pool was great (we had it heated). We were very well looked after by Amelia, she has a gift of being discreet but we knew she’d been as everywhere was so clean and tidy. The property is accessed either via the garage or a pathway to a gate and we felt very secure. We hope to be back soon!

We love Casa da Figueira!
After a delay of almost a year due to Covid we finally made it to Casa da Figueira. It didn't disappoint. A beautiful villa and gardens, so relaxed and quiet, and fully equipped. The villa itself is nicely decorated, we loved the artwork, some really nice personal touches. It's very spatious, all of the rooms are generously proportioned, with high ceilings too, so you feel relaxed and have plenty of room to chill out in. The gardens are beautiful, providing even more space to relax in. We made use of all 3 patios, and the bbq, and of course the pool which was lovely and warm (it is August!), a good size, private, and nicely located right by the patio area, and easily accessed from the villa. The villa was very clean and kept that way by the lovely Amelia who was very friendly and helpful. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed likewise the villa in general. Sophie was also very helpful communicating with us prior to our arrival and everything was explained and easy to follow. From the photos and previous reviews I expected Casa da Figueira to be really nice and it didn't disappoint. We plan to return again for another lovely, relaxing family beach holiday 😀

Excellent Location - Excellent Property - Will go Back!
This property was everything that was promised. It was a dream come true. The property was extremely cared-for and it has lots of room, a beautiful outside area and was walking distance to the beach and shopping . Amelia came every day and even did some laundry for us which was very much appreciated. We loved it at Casa da Figueira and there was public transportation in town to get to other towns close by. Thank you for allowing us the use of your beautiful home! As we were departing all of us said it was the best vacation we have had !

Casa da Figueira is a once in a lifetime getaway property that has it all!
As the chill of fall approached in New England we extended our summer in Luz at Casa da Figueira, the perfect getaway. Private lush grounds, plenty of space to share with another couple (or two), a well appointed kitchen, clean and up to date, lovely swimming pool, peaceful and quiet but just a few minutes walk from a fabulous beach, shops and many wonderful restaurants. It was our second visit and this stay surpassed all our fond memories of four years ago. Some short drives took us to a variety of destinations for exploring the coastal towns, castles and forts, and mountains of the Algarve. But one could just remain at the Casa and have a wonderful time, enhanced by the attentions of Amelia who came every weekday to clean, do our laundry and act as hostess. This is a “wow!” property with exceptional charm and amenities. We will definitely be back!!

An unforgettable stay
Our family had a dream holiday at this beautiful villa. It couldn’t have been better for two families with small children to stay in. There were toys to play with for the house, beach and pool, two travel cots, high chairs, beach towels - not to mention fantastic cooking facilities. The house itself is immaculate and beautiful, we loved the traditional decor and homely touches. The gardens were a bonus and the pool was clean, warm and huge! Everything was perfect from start to finish! And having Amelia visit us daily to help with cleaning and washing our clothes was the icing on the cake. The location is perfect and walking distance to the beach and lots of wonderful local restaurants, and it feels safe and friendly. The communication was incredible from the owner and all of our questions were answered swiftly. A special place - we will definitely be back in the future.

Best place ever!!!!
This property was special. The accommodations are spacious, private, and luxurious. The grounds are beautiful and exceptionally maintained . We spent many afternoon and evenings relaxing by the beautiful heated pool. Amelia is a treasure. She came daily to make our beds and to keep the place sparkling. She even did our laundry! She was incredibly helpful and respected our privacy. You simply could not ask for a better location - steps to hiking, beach, great supermarket, and restaurants. We will happily return!

Perfect for my family
I traveled to Portugal with my mom, dad, sis and a friend. The villa was well appointed and the pool was lovely. It was indeed steps from a beautiful beach (Praia do Luz) . And it was excellent to have off street parking as parking is at a premium in this area. The owners, Sophie and Jesus were wonderful. They responded very quickly to any questions that we had and were most accommodating. We wanted a later checkout and they said no problem. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Beautiful home in a wonderful beach side town.
Our stay was short but very nice. Our beds were all very comfortable and we really appreciate this. Amelia took very good care of us! The village and beach where a 4 minute walk away from our house. There are many little restaurants in this are of Luz which are all well rated. We didn't want to leave this wonderful spot.

Family Holiday
We have just returned from an absolutely wonderful family holiday at Casa De Figuera. The villa is wonderful, so beautifully kept, the pool amazing, we spent a lot of time enjoying it!. The location is superb, a small walk to the beach and lots of really nice resteraunts, family friendly and welcoming. Amelia is a wonderful housekeeper, she’s like an invisible fairy godmother, keeping us tidy, doing laundry and there for information, besides that she’s lovely lady! I can’t recommend this beautiful villa enough, it’s large, roomy, extremely well maintained, just go, you’ll see what I mean xx

Perfectly located villa with extensive gardens
Just returned from what can only be described as a perfect 8 night holiday. The traditional villa is spacious, perfectly located and equipped with everything you need for a truly relaxing holiday. Amelia is an absolute gem and kept the place beautifully during our stay - I can’t thank her enough for her help. We look forward to visiting again!

Wonderful Vacation Destination!
Casa da Figueira is a charming private property located in an absolutely beautiful setting. The garden is perfectly-maintained and peaceful and the interior is clean and comfortable, with lots of places on the property to sit and chat and to enjoy the setting. It is located only a couple minute's walk from the beach and tons of restaurants and shops, which were vibrant and energetic especially in the afternoons and evenings (in mid-July). For us, it was the perfect escape from the daily hustle and bustle and we were very happy to have so many activities to choose from: laying out on the beach, taking a dip in the swimming pool, hiking on nearby local trails, going out to dinner, or taking a mini day-trip into the town of Lagos. Also, the wifi at the house worked well so we could live-stream movies and shows on our personal devices. The owners were personable and responsive, and Amelia, the housekeeper, was courteous and attentive (and even did our laundry)! We highly recommend staying at Casa da Figueira on your next vacation.

relaxing villa vacation
We had a great time staying at this adorable villa in praia da Luz. Very quick walk to the beach, but we also very much enjoyed the private pool. This house had everything we needed for a relaxing stay.

Thanks for your feedback. Indeed, Casa da Figueira is just a two min walk from a beautiful large sandy beach and if you want total privacy, spending a day enjoying the large private (and if you want heated) pool is fantastic. I hope you and your family visit Casa da Figueira again in the future!

I chose this villa based on the many 5* reviews and wasn’t let down. Stunning Villa.
We’ve just arrived home after a week at Casa da Figueira. I can’t rate it highly enough, it was perfect for our family (myself, husband, 2 boys age 2 and 6 and mother and father in law). The gardens and the pool area are stunning. The villa itself is huge with everything you would need, from books and toys to towels, beach towels and extra bedding. Amelia is so lovely, she was their daily to assist with making beds and changing bins etc, even did some of our washing and hung out on the line. The villa is so quiet and so private which is perfect for our family as our son has sensory issues and can’t handle much noise (I spent a lot of time researching villas for this reason and it’s taken us 6 years to finally make the decision to holiday abroad). It’s a 5 minute walk to the beautiful Luz beach and a 15 min walk to the supermarket. We will 100% be returning. Thank you so much for making our first family holiday abroad so special.

Paradise at Casa da Figueira
The private atmosphere of the house and large gardens is unique being so close to the center of Praia da Luz. The home is beautifully decorated with many original pieces of art which we really enjoyed. Vacationing at Casa da Figueira has all the luxuries of a hotel (our beds were made daily, the home was sparkling clean and even our laundry was done!). Obrigada Amelia. Happy to be back!
This was our second stay at Casa da Figueira and we could not have enjoyed it more. The house is lovely and comfortable, inside and out, and everything is kept beautifully clean. My husband and I especially enjoyed having breakfast and tea on the verandas overlooking the courtyard and pool, and walking through the garden where the roses were in full bloom. My daughter and her friends said the nearby beach was the nicest of all the wonderful beaches they visited in the area. We enjoyed hiking the trails overlooking the ocean, and walking to shops and restaurants in town - everything is within easy walking distance. There are many good places to eat and also many fun and interesting things to do within easy driving distance of the house. We would like to go back to Casa da Figueira soon!

Loved it!

Outstanding! This is our second year visiting and we are in love with the villa, the town, and Portugal! Perfect location for beach, golf, historic tours, nature tours, and great food. Truly feels like home away from home, but better. Amelia is so kind and helpful, she makes the stay feel luxurious. The home is comfortable and private and meets all of our needs. Even better it’s a quick walk to the beach and restaurants, but you feel totally secluded on the property. Will definitely return!!

A Perfect Place to Unwind & Enjoy
Ideal home for relaxing and enjoying the area. Had a fantastic stay at this super convenient and comfortable home. It is excellent in every way. Spacious and private - it is centrally located but the open lay out, large property, and gated concept provides a uniquely peaceful and secure environment. The home is also very functional - the facilities all work really well (including the wifi, water, kitchen etc). Great and responsive host and staff - very kind and attentive. The house also has a great feeling - it starts feeling like "home" very quickly. Overall, very highly recommended. I will definitely return.

The place to stay!
Casa da Figueira was the perfect choice for our trip to the Algarve. Firstly, the position is simply perfect, just a couple minutes walk from the beach and in a beautiful green and quiet area. We could hear the waves from the house! It also offers a lovely big pool and a beautiful well curated and large garden. That’s hard to find today, especially if you have kids or you love flowers it’s definitely a must. The house is very spacious, so many rooms and several dining table options both outside and inside. We are definitely going back. The host was very available. We are very happy!

Great location, comfortable and relaxing holiday
First time to Luz, wasn’t disappointed at all. Everything we needed on the doorstep. Comfortable clean traditional villa with plenty of space for 6 adults, we liked to entertain ourselves in the evening and spent more nights in than out making use of the outside bbq. We just felt that the outside eating area where the bbq was could be improved with more outside lighting especially the pool area and there is only seating for 4 near the bbq. The location for our needs couldn’t have been better, close to the beach and some nice walking trails. We walked to Lagos and also to Burgau a beautiful fishing village with a great beach. The temperatures were above average for the time of year which was great for us. Overall a charming traditional villa, comfortable and kept clean by Amelia on a daily basis in a great location.

Dear Cheryl, thank you for vacationing at Casa da Figueira. The villa is indeed in a perfect location: an easy walk to the beach and trails. Amelia has been keeping Casa da Figueira in perfect condition for almost 30 years! Thanks for your comments about the lighting, we will check it out. There are a half dozen different lights fixtures near the BBQ and pool patios, but the switches are not always easy to find. We normally have dinner at the large table on the pool patio but getting a larger one on the BBQ patio is a good suggestions. Hope that you will visit Casa da Figueira again in the future! Sophie

Perfect for a family holiday
We have stayed at this villa several times since our first visit in 1987 and it remains a favourite for our family. The villa is well equipped and comfortable, with a lovely garden and pool. The owner Sophie, was very helpful during the booking stage and we were exceptionally well looked after by Amelia during our stay. Our 19 month old granddaughter is still asking “where’s Amelia?” since our return home! The beach and village are within easy walking distance and both have good facilities.

lovely oasis in heart of beach town
Stayed at Casa de Figueira during April school vacation with 11 and 13 y.o. Loved the privacy and serenity of the home and the 2 min walk to beach, cafes, ice cream, and handful of shops. We surfed, hiked, visited castles, hung out by pool, and generally had a fantastic time. Would come back in a heartbeat. House is full of thoughtful amenities, including tons of information on where to eat and things to do, well stocked kitchen with helpful basics (s&p, olive oil, paper towels), tons of books and games. All made it easy to get right into feeling comfortable and relaxed. We walked everywhere ... good markets, so it was easy to do a comfortable mix of eat in/go out. Town is friendly and easy to get around without speaking Portuguese. With the unusually large lot size and mature garden, this property is that rare combination of privacy and proximity to fun.

Returned to paradise
Once again, we returned to paradise at the Casa to enjoy authentic Portuguese charm! See previous reviews by us for details...which continue to be cherished. WE were happy for the people of Portugal that rain came frequently to encourage the green to expand and the flowers and trees to flourish....however, we would have appreciated more sun with less wind. The weather was not typically what we have experienced in the past. But a minor blemish that will not discourage our return... Amelia continues to be a gem , looking after every need we might have. We highly recommend the Casa as a truly 5+ STAR vacation choice!!!
