I don't think the patio area in front of the pool is big enough to accommodate a large table and 6 chairs. It is felt that it would impede free movement from the lounge and there would definitely be no room to walk around the table. We felt that this table is for a few drinks and light refreshments rather than meal time although I will have another look at this. The table at the front of the Villa is large enough to handle 6 people comfortably. The awning covers the entire patio area by the pool. It was hoped that it would be sufficient for guest needs. As you saw, we had loads of parasols but they cannot take the fierce heat or the winds that visit Leaf Mountain and generally do not last any period of time which was why the awning was installed. However, we will get a couple of parasols for those on the sun loungers in time for next season. We really appreciate the positive review given and the way you have put the niggles into perspective.

While I am disappointed with your review I have to accept that not every guest will have a positive view of the Villa. The driveway has been treated, it would be very difficult for weeds to grow on it. I have never seen weeds on the driveway. The tropical gardens are maintained by a landscaping company. We have never received a negative comment about the gardens. We are restricted as to the type of outdoor seating we can provide because it does rain. The furniture we have provided is typical of that used outdoors in Portugal, hard plastic and stone. The Villa has an awning that covers the entire seating area outside by the pool. We also have parasols to provide shade while sunbathing on the loungers. All you had to do was ask and we would have obliged. We do not leave them out all year round as it can get windy on occasion and they do get damaged. We gave the Villa a complimentary clean during your stay, changed all the linen and towels at no extra cost and you were also allowed to check in early and check out late so we are extremely disappointed with your review and feel it was not justified.

I am sorry that you found our double bed mattresses uncomfortable to the point where this impacted your holiday. I imagine that you like a specific type of mattress be it, hard, medium, or soft and our mattress was not your mattress of choice which resulted in discomfort. We have never had a complaint about our beds or mattresses so had we no idea that it was a potential issue. However, the queen bed and mattress in the Master bedroom are 3 years old and the other double bed and mattress are about 5 years old. Clearly, they are not old and I can assure you that no expense was spared in the pursuit of guest comfort. The single beds you ended up sleeping in were of good quality but the double bed mattresses were of better quality yet you found the single beds more comfortable. I find that hard to understand or explain nevertheless you are entitled to express your view.
