If it's your first time travelling during COVID-19, you'll notice new standards and rules in place. Follow these tips and make your trip to Allgäu Alps a smooth one:

• Understand what, if any, restrictions or rules apply to both your origin and destination. It may not be possible to travel depending on local circumstances, so check before you book.
• You're required to wear a face mask at the airport, even at screening checkpoints. Be prepared to lower your mask for identification purposes when asked by a TSA employee.
• Avoid handing your boarding pass directly to a TSA officer. Rather, position your pass on the scanner and then hold it up for the agent to visually inspect it.
• TSA is now allowing passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on bags. This will have to be removed from your bag and submitted for screening.
• Place any personal items (phone, wallet and keys for example) in your carry-on rather than a bin to minimize handling during the screening process.
• If you're bringing food on the plane with you, put it in a clear plastic bag and then into a screening bin. This reduces the likelihood that a TSA agent will need to handle your food container or carry-on bag for closer inspection.
