Just Perfect!

A peaceful retreat
When we arrived I was surprised to realise I’d booked a house set in its own grounds. It is by far the best accommodation I have ever rented for a holiday at this price. The house is well equipped, clean and very comfortable. My friends and I wanted to walk, read and rest - this beautiful house proved to be ideal. Jose and Teresa were so friendly and supportive- knowing they were at the end of the telephone added to the experience, nothing is too much to ask. In summary - wonderful holiday venue in a beautiful natural setting with lots of walks and nature to enjoy.

Best villa ever
Hosts were fantastic. Villa has everything you need.. has a great outdoor BBQ area next to the pool. Inside the villa is spotless and ver spacious, supermarket and restaurants are a 7 min walk.

Absolutely stunning mountain villa
Theresa@jose were fantastic hosts,very helpful and informative of the area.Personally showed us around the villa and came to say goodbye on our departure. The villa is very clean with everything you need.Stunning views and outside space is vast with a lovely fountain in the grounds.The quaint village of Almogia was friendly and beautiful. The perfect villa
Teresa & Jose are fantastic hosts and went above and beyond any other property owners we have encountered encountered. The villa was spotlessly clean, comfortable and exactly the way it was listed. It has all the amenities you could ask for. The setting of the villa was beautiful with scenic mountain views. The pool was at a perfect temperature and regular cleaned and maintained by Jose during out stay. We loved the small town of Almogia with its great selection of bars and cafes. Without a doubt the best property we have ever rented. Many thanks Jose and Teresa. We hope to be back soon.

Exactly what we hoped for a peaceful retreat in the Spanish hills.
This villa was very clean well maintained exactly as described a fabulous place to relax , with the perfect environment to holiday and unwind under the Andalusian sunshine. The owners Teresa and Jose were always at the end of the phone to answer or help with any questions we had and made sure we had everything we needed , Thank you both for making our stay so lovely we will definitely be back to stay at your wonderful home.

La casa está en un lugar precioso. Y los dueños de la casa estaban siempre disponibles. José fue las extra millas por nosotros y nos rescataba cuando estábamos perdidos. Es una persona tan amable y siempre nos respondía nuestras preguntas. Y nos recomendaba lugares para ir, todos muy cerca de la casa. La casa está muy cómoda y todo en muy buenas condiciones. Es un lugar lleno de paz y tranquilidad y cerca de las grandes ciudades. A todos nos gusto nuestra estadía en tan bello paraíso. Con tan bella vegetación y el sonidos melodiosos de los pajaritos. Y si volviéramos a Andalucía, volveríamos a la casa El Rueo. El lugar, y la casa es altamente recomendado, de parte de todos nosotros. Unique location with excellent hosts
This is a very unique place, and we completely enjoyed it. Orange, pomegranite, avocado, olive and Lemon trees on the grounds, which cover quite a large patch of scenic hillside. Great layout for a small family, even a second bathroom out behind the outdoor kitchen, which was completely unexpected. Jose and Teresa were so helpful and friendly, and were very interested in ensuring we had a great stay. You're going to need a car, but we really enjoyed the driving around Almogia and the immediate area. We're used to wider roads, but it made it fun. The weather (third week of March) did not allow for us to spend too much time around the pool, but it would be a great spot on a hot day. If you want to be in a rural (but not too rural) setting, this place is an excellent choice.

Just Perfect
This must be one of the best properties we have rented over many years visiting Andalusia. Really absolutely faultless with every amenity you could wish for. Without doubt the best pool and outdoor kitchen, the pictures don't do them justice. The house is spotlessly clean and the bedrooms are a good size with very comfortable beds. The open plan living area is ideal and on chilly spring nights the incredible log burner was most welcome. Almogia is a pretty little mountain village with very friendly bars and restaurants. We enjoyed some really lovely meals and truly excellent tapas. Although our Spanish is very limited everyone we met was most welcoming and appreciated our efforts. What can I say about Jose and Teresa, they were fantastic hosts from booking to leaving. Nothing was too much trouble and they helped in more ways than I can mention. They met us at the property on arrival and were there to wave goodbye when we left. Highly recommended

Over and above!
The property is spotless, beautiful, and really well equipped. It's constructed to the highest standards and perfectly maintained - Jose and Teresa are exceptionally good humoured perfectionists. We heartily agree with other reviewers that they are also the most generous and gracious hosts. It's a great home, comfortable in itself, located in countryside that's always fascinating to explore but close enough to walk into town. Talking of which, Almogia is a lovely town, with new beauty around every corner. Jose has a collection of strolls, rambles and energetic hikes in the area that would meet the most strenuous requirements. Jose is also a solicitous host, protecting his guests from their own worst impulses - he twice saved us from inadvisable route choices, and ensured we always took the best road to the many interesting neighbourhood destinations covered in other reviews. We would not hesitate to recommend El Rueo to anyone, including our closest friends.

Wonderful country holiday.
This is a very lovely property, very comfortable and well equipped with a fabulous setting on the edge of the white town of Almogia. If you can tear yourself away from the beautiful garden and pool there are great walks in the surrounding countryside. The town itself has bars, restaurants and a supermarket. There is a bus to Malaga. We would recommend trips to Torcal Park, a fascinating limestone karst area and to the Caminito Del Rey. The owners of the house, Jose and Theresa, will make you feel most welcome. They are so friendly and helpful. We are keen to return and would recommend this beautiful house to you. Brilliant!

If we could give this property and Jose and Teresa more than 5 stars we would! We have had the most wonderful holiday and the welcome we received from Jose and Teresa was amazing. The location of the property is stunning and it has everything you need. My daughter enjoyed a night out with their daughter and her friends in a Almogia and we had a lovely night with the family drinking and eating! We had many lovely days out to Ronda, Mijas, Benalmádena and it’s cable car, El Torcal, the caves at Nerja to name a few but also enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the house and its pool. Jose was always on hand if we needed him and we were really sad to say goodbye. We hope to stay again soon!

The most beautiful setting with the perfect owners
We thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks at El Rueo, it really was the most amazing villa and I can't wait to be able to return with my family. The villa was in immaculate condition and the facilities were second to none!! The owners made us feel so very welcome and made us feel that they were available , literally, 24 hrs a day if needed. I have talked of nothing but our fantastic holiday since returning to UK and would recommend this villa to everyone. José y Teresa, mucho gusto y mucha graciás

Amazing Holiday!!
We stayed September 24th to October 4th 2018 just me and my wife &..... We loved it!!! Teresa & Jose are wonderful people who just wanted it us to have a fanstastic time at their amazing house. The house was immaculate as was the pool and outside area, it was so peaceful and tranquil... at first I couldn't believe how quiet it was, the house is totally private and secluded, Jose who comes and does the pool early in the the morning must tip toe around because we never heard a sound.. he is very discreet, as soon as we got up in the morning we were in the pool, it was brilliant!!! we then cooked our breakfast in the outdoor kitchen and we either went out for the day or stayed outside all day, the house was wonderful but we were never in it, (The outdoor shower has hot and cold water) Teresa and Jose were always willing to help with local knowledge and any advice or help that we needed, they are so kind, considerate and helpful. Outside of the house... the area is Amazing, we went to El Torcal, Donkey Sanctuary, Flamingo Lake, Antequera, Mijas Board Walk, Cabopino Beach (but we preferred it around our pool) the Sunday market in Coin and of course Ardales National Park... what a wonderful place... we can only gve 5/5 but Teresa, Jose and the house deserve 10/5 :o) we loved it so much we have already booked for next year... cant wait.

Wonderful House
We ( myself, wife, 18 year old son and girlfriend) stayed at Jose and Teresa's villa in Almogia for 2 weeks, (during the group stages of the world cup!!). From the initial enquiry, directions, to arrival, communication from Jose was friendly, prompt and excellent. We were met on arrival and their villa is in a quiet peaceful location and was spotlessly clean with everything you could want. Plenty of space inside and outside with lots of nice plants around the villa. The pool was cleaned every other day by Jose, but it didn't attract lots of insects or vegetation to clean out in between anyhow. Thankyou Jose for the fruit, we had fresh orange juice every day with breakfast and he told us to top up the fruit from his garden on the hillside which we did. Almogia is about 30 minutes by car from Malaga, a nice drive up through the hills with nice scenery. Lots to see and do within an hours drive, recommend the caves at Nerja, Cablecar at Benalmadina, Cliffside path at Caminito del Ray if you dare, (and can work out the instructions for entry) Botanical gardens just outside Malaga, Cathedral, Alcazabar and the Picasso museum in Malaga. Or just drive in the mountains and past the resevoirs. Thankyou Jose and Tereza, you are very nice people and if we stay in the Malaga region again we will contact you to see if you villa is available. Pity about Spain getting knocked out of the world cup early - come on England!! Regards Lyndon and Pauline

Beautiful Villa!!!!
We have just returned from a 2 week stay in “El Rueo” and I have to stay this is the best villa we have ever stayed in. This villa is maintained to a very high standard with all the amenities you could wish for. The pool is delightful and the outside kitchen is brilliant for eating outside especially in the warm evenings. Jose and Teresa are a charming couple and were helpful above and beyond. The bowl of fruit and cold drinks in the fridge on arrival were most welcome. We had a wonderful time and we will certainly be returning next year. Thank you Jose and Teresa

Great villa in a very peaceful location near to amenities
Very clean, modern and comfortable property. José and Teresa are lovely people and couldn’t have made us feel more welcome, especially our children. The villa is great inside with everything you could need and the fire is perfect for colder evenings. Outside there is a massive amount of space for evening dining and a venture up the hill behind the house delivers some amazing views. We have already told José that we will be returning to the villa next year as you won’t find anything better. Gracias Teresa & José, te veo el próximo año!

We can’t thank Teresa and Jose enough, our stay at their amazing Villa it was fantastic. The Villa was absolutely spotless; everything that you would ever need in the kitchen, the lounge area was cosy and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and I loved the furniture. The summer kitchen looked amazing, it had everything that you would need for outside living, but as we stayed in November we were unable to use this fantastic facility. But we did have breakfast outside with the lovely views of the surrounding hills. We did have a quick dip in the pool, which in summer months would be very welcomed. Teresa and Jose were fantastic host, nothing was too much trouble, they would answer any query that we had, giving us helpful advice on everything. We would defiantly recommend going to El Torcal and Cameninto Del Rey (which you must book online in advance) two spectacular trips, which were very reasonably priced. We took a trip to Malaga on the local bus, which was on time and made a change to let the driver speed you through to Malaga bus station. We had a good day visiting many attractions, we will definitely be returning for a longer visit. The only downside to our holiday was that it was too short!!!, we would have loved to stay much longer. One thing for sure, is that we will be returning. Thank you so much to Teresa and Jose, they have an amazing Villa, we would 100% recommend a holiday there.

Fantastic retreat
We stayed at Casa El Rueo for a week at the very end of September. It is in a spectacular location in the mountains and is just outside Almogia. The house is lovely, very well equipped, nicely furnished and decorated in a combination of modern and traditional style. It is set in very pleasant, private grounds, including a spacious terrace and a good-sized swimming pool. Teresa and Jose were very friendly and helpful. We were sad to leave and would definitely stay there again.

Perfect holiday home in a perfect location
This characteristic Spanish holiday home had everything one would need for a splendid vacation: a beautiful setting and full amenities in and around the house. Th kitchen was well provided and the beds were excellent. We received a very friendly welcome and had good communication both in English and Spanish with the owners José and Terésa during our stay; The fridge was provided with beer and fruits, the stove wit woodfire, and the swimming pool with (cold) water. The location in Almogia is very suitable for walks in the direct surroundings (maps available) and in the mountain range of El Torcal de Antequerra. Malaga is only 15 kms of curvy road away. The only minor point (but not related to the owners): there were a lot of barking dogs at night in the neighbourhood.

Schönes Haus in den Bergen
Das Haus liegt in einem Olivenhain sehr ruhig, man hört nur Hunde und Hähne. Es ist immer ca. 4 Grad kühler als an der Küste. Man kann schöne Wanderungen mit Ausblicken machen. Teresa und José kümmern sich um alles und helfen gerne weiter. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen.

Super Ferienhaus
Wir waren zwei Wochen in diesem Ferienhaus. Teresa und Jose haben uns sehr freundlich empfangen. Zur Begrüßung gab es einen großen Obstkorb und verschiedene Getränke. Das Haus war sehr sauber und gut eingerichtet. Die Gastgeber waren immer bemüht unseren Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu machen. Wir können dieses Haus uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

Een geweldige locatie in de bergen. Rust en veel Prive
José en Teresa Heel erg bedankt voor het verblijf in Almogia en jullie prachtige woning.. een geweldige locatie in de bergen met alles bij de deur zoals.. restaurants, supermarkt en bakker. Prima twee weken
De eerste week viel het weer wat tegen door de krachtige wind en wat regen, maar de tweede week was zoals wij hoopten dat het zou zijn: zon en een lekkere voorjaarstemperatuur. De gastheer José en gastvrouw Teresa zijn zeer behulpzaam, spreken Engels en Spaans en respecteren je privacy. Het huis is ruim en goed geoutilleerd. Het zwembadwater vonden wij nog te koud, maar lonkte wel. Het dorp Almogía met wat restaurantjes en een supermarkt (de Dia) ligt op 900 meter loopafstand. Al met al prima verblijf en wij komen graag nog een keer terug, maar dan wel als het wat warmer is. Roelie (68)en Louwrens (75).

La casa es muy bonita. No le falta absolutamente nada. José y Teresa muy muy buena gente. Pendientes de que nuestra estancia fuese de diez sobre diez. Volveremos y recomendaremos sin dudarlo. La limpieza, la comodidad, la decoración....todo, absolutamente todo de diez. Gracias por hacer que nuestras vacaciones fuesen perfectas. La localización es totalmente lo que buscábamos o mejor. La sierra malagueña es muy bonita y hemos disfrutado mucho.

Nur der Meerblick fehlt
In neun Jahren Spanienurlaub haben wir verschiedene Ferienwohnungen und Fincas bewohnt. Mit Teresa und José haben wir unglaublich freundliche, hilfsbereite und engagierte Besitzer kennen gelernt. Diese Finca ist auch die schönste, die wir gebucht haben. Die Ausstattung lässt keine Wünsche offen, der Außenbereich ist großzügig und die Grillhütte bis spät in die Nacht gemütlich. Wir hatten Traumwetter und konnten den großen Pool häufig nutzen, dank Beleuchtung auch noch später am Abend. Die Wegbeschreibung, die wir von José vorab per Whatsapp erhielten, hat uns auch ohne Navi problemlos ans Ziel geführt. Dort wurden wir von Teresa und José persönlich begrüßt. Ein großer Obstkorb sowie Bier und Wein im Kühlschrank hießen uns willkommen. Vielen Dank nochmal für die freundliche Betreuung!

Exceptional & All Conforts in Casa Reuo
José and Theresa are great hosts with a great humanity. They are always available to meet all our expectations. The villa is exceptional and very safe for children. We can enjoy the villa in all tranquility. All the facilities in the villa and the pool are very good. José and Theresa always have a smile on their faces when welcoming visitors from the first days to the last. The quietness of the villa is relaxing for those who want to get away from the routine of work. Theresa's baked bread is so good. I encourage you to go to this Villa in Almogia.

Die Fotos im Internet sind nicht geschönt oder besonders vorteilhaft fotografiert - es ist einfach genau so WUNDERBAR !!! Wir schließen uns allen unseren Vorschreibern an, was Sauberkeit und Ausstattung, den gefüllten Obstkorb, den sauberen Pool, die Außendusche mit warmem Wasser, das bequeme Bett und die super netten Vermieter Teresa und José angeht. Außerdem möchten wir noch erwähnen, das für uns Almogia der ideale Ausgangspunkt für unsere Unternehmungen war. Mit dem Bus kann man für 1,70 nach Malaga fahren(was man auch unbedingt tun sollte), mit dem Mietwagen( der sinnvoll ist) kommt man überall hin.Herzlichen Dank nochmal an Teresa und José, dass wir das schöne El Rueo bewohnen durften :-) Wir kommen sicher nochmal wieder und dann gibt es FIESTA für alle :-)

Lovely place, great hospitable owners.
The house is located in a beautiful spot with lots of space and privacy. The owners, José and Therese, welcomed us very hospitably with a beautiful fruit bowl and a well-stocked fridge. A real welcome. A car is a prerequisite to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Be sure to visit El Torcal. Also bring binoculars to spot the animals from the house. We would like to come back again. Magnifiques Vacances dans excellentes Villa et région
Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cette magnifique villa munie de tout le confort souhaité. Les propriétaires, Teresa et José nous ont réservé un excellent accueil avec des boissons fraîches, un jolie panier de fruits et sans oublier des friandises pour les enfants. Tout au long de notre séjour, nous avons été au cœur de leur attention. Nous avons passé de très belles journées ensoleillées profitant à la fois de la piscine avec les enfants et également de la cuisine extérieure pendant nos repas, le soir venu nous pouvions contempler le ciel étoilé sans être gêné par la pollution lumineuse des grandes villes. Almogia est située en montagne dans une très belle région avec un barrage situé à 10 minutes. Almogia est idéalement située ce qui nous a permis de réaliser de très nombreuses excursions, à Malaga (35mn), Marbella (1h), Fuengirola (45 mn), le lac de Viñuela (1h), Cordoba (1h50),... Nous savons déjà où nous passerons nos prochaines vacances en Andalousie. Nous vous adressons un grand merci, Teresa et José, pour avoir oeuvré à nos magnifiques vacances. Je n'oublie pas tous les services que vous nous avez rendus (les soins pour mon mal de dos, la batterie pour la voiture, le miel🍯, le pain du matin 😋, les renseignements pour la pêche 🎣, ...). Vacaciones inolvidables
Lo primero de todo agradecer a los dueños del alojamiento, Jose y Teresa, todo su esfuerzo y dedicación para que no falte ningún detalle y sólo tengas que preocuparte de disfrutar. Son un encanto, muy amables y de total confianza. La vivienda es un lujo en todos los sentidos, la limpieza y desinfección de 10 y eso ahora con el COVID se agradece de más. Los colchones muy cómodos todos, la piscina grande, muy limpia (y eso que no hemos notado el cloro, ni en los ojos ni en la piel), y con iluminación. Zona de barbacoa junto a la piscina, con cuarto de baño para no tener que entrar en casa para nada. Ducha de agua caliente y fría en la piscina, que se agradece también para ducharse rápidamente por la noche, cuando el fresco ya puede hacer que te quedes helado. Hay mucha sombra y espacio para poder jugar unas partidas de cartas o parchís con las frescas. La casa también tiene todos los preparos. Microondas, horno, lavadora, lavavajillas, aire acondicionado... y hay nevera tanto dentro de la casa como fuera, en la zona de piscina. Para los insectos hay mosquiteras y repelentes, la verdad que no he escuchado ningún mosquito dentro de casa. Esperamos volver en un futuro.

Wunderschönes Haus oberhalb Málaga.
Wir können die bisherigen Bewertungen nur bestätigen! Es ist sehr sauber.,geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Mit dem Auto kommt man in kurzen Zeiten ebenfalls mühelos überall hin auf gut ausgebauten Strassen. Ein toller Ort um die Ruhe zu geniessen. Dank des guten Wetters konnten wir auch die bestens ausgerüstete Aussenküche benutzen. Teresa und José wie auch ihre Töchter sind sehr warmherzliche Leute. Wie schon von unseren Vorgängern beschrieben, sehr sauber . Ein wirklich wundervolles Areal. Sehr gepflegt und auch das Pool sehr sauber. Das Haus ist perfekt ausgestattet. Super Häuschen in toller Umgebung
Das Haus liegt etwas abseits vom Ort Almogia an einer unbefestigten Straße. Das Haus bietet alles was man braucht. Alles ist sehr schön und liebevoll eingerichtet. Es gibt einen tollen Pool und eine Außenküche. Die Vermieter sind super nett und sehr liebenswert und großzügig. Zur Begrüßung wurde uns ein großer Obstkorb, eine Flasche Wein und eine Auswahl an lokalen Bieren präsentiert, was mir als Biertrinker sehr zu Gute kam. Alles in allem auf jeden Fall eine Reise wert und wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen Liebe Grüße an Jose und Teresa
