Property nice, manager lacked tact
Lily and Tim,
Thanks for the recent stay at your VRBO in Anchorage. The location was great, and your apartment was nice. We appreciated the delicious cookies.
I want to bring an item to your attention: Your property manager, Cherie, called me on the evening of Sunday, 23 July, and made an awkward and unfounded accusation that I had just brought multiple adults into the residence who were not on the rental agreement. This was untrue and I challenge you to find evidence to the contrary. Instead of apologizing when confronted with the truth, she continued to insist that I not break the rule, even following up with an unnecessary and terse text message. Additionally, the experience left us with the very uncomfortable feeling that we lacked privacy.
As a second matter, I think it is a draconian rule that no guests are allowed in the house under any circumstances. We had plans to invite my brother over for about 2 hours before we took him to the airport. (We made alternate plans due to your policy.) Nonetheless, I recognize that it is certainly your prerogative and I respect it.
My experience with Cherie left a bad impression. Regardless whether I agree with the rule, surely there are techniques of communication more tactful than the one she employed. I would hesitate to recommend this apartment to another customer, despite its excellent location.
