"When booked the hotel was described as a “resort” which is why we planned the detour to its location. Upon arrival there was no staff to welcome us - a text to the number on the locked door was quickly returned with a lock box code to grant us enterance to our studio apartment. The advertised laundry facilities were not available for use, the swimming pool while open was in great need of maintenance or filtering ( both) and as such was not an attractive option for the afternoon. "Really enjoyed my stay. The room was lovely and I made use of the indoor gym which was small but well kitted out. The breakfast selection was good including dairy free options. I also had buffet dinner in the main dining room which was good but as I don’t eat meat, I think it lacked options with veg or fish."

"I honestly cannot say enough good things about Maleme Mare Beach Resort! From the moment I arrived, I felt like I was part of the family. Stavros, the resort host, was absolutely amazing! He didn’t just bring guests together and help strangers become friends, he genuinely made every guest feel like they were part of his own family. You could tell he truly cared about everyone and wanted them to have the best experience possible. And Sasha, the bartender, made some of the best drinks and always kept everyone smiling! The entire property was incredibly clean and well maintained, the pool was beautiful, and the views were just breathtaking. Unfortunately, Mother Nature didn’t cooperate for part of my stay, but that didn’t stop me from having a great time! The entertainment was so much fun and there was always laughter and good company. I traveled to Crete solo, but never once felt alone at this resort. The staff and atmosphere made my trip even more special than I could have imagined. I came to Greece for the beautiful beaches and scenery, but I left with wonderful memories and new friends. I would return to Maleme Mare in a heartbeat! Thank you for making my first solo trip to Greece so unforgettable! ❤️🇬🇷"

I was especially touched to learn that the entire hotel staff had held a meeting before our arrival to ensure that every guest in our group would be personally taken care of. That level of thoughtfulness and attention to detail speaks volumes about their dedication to hospitality. Even before arriving from New York, I had been corresponding with the team, and they were always incredibly responsive, accommodating, and prompt. Every little detail was thoughtfully planned and beautifully executed, allowing me to simply relax and enjoy my celebration. The property itself is absolutely beautiful, impeccably maintained, and a wonderful place to create lasting memories. But what truly sets this hotel apart is its people. "This was our second visit to Atlantica Amalthia. Very nice hotel. Everywhere was very clean, our room was a good size (we had a room in the building on the beach side) with nice balcony. Nice bar and restaurant. Breakfast room was nice and good choice of food. Very well kept beach. All of the staff were first class. So friendly, polite and extremely helpful. Visited the spa and had two massages during my stay and both were very nice and relaxing. Definitely recommend. Reasonable price. Didn't use the pool as it got busy very quickly. Sunbeds were very close together and not positioned well that you could get the sun all day. Whilst I enjoy swimming in a pool, we chose to stay on the beach each day. Good location with plenty of restaurants nearby. Recommend Sebastien next door. Absolute gem of a hotel and would definitely recommend it."

"The hotel is isolated close to the Samaria gorge’s trail departure. It’s perfect if you plan to visit the gorge. The hotel is a little outdated but it offers everything you need for your stay and is very affordable. The plus is the team. All of them are super nice and they make your stay unforgettable. I recommend everyone to get there just to enjoy being treated nicely in a very natural way."
