West End (No 18) | St Monans

Tucked away in a quiet corner of St Monans, this traditional fisherman’s cottage has been beautifully modernised to a high standard, pairing fresh, bright interiors with lovely SEA VIEWS and a peaceful, south-facing patio. Wake up to the sound of the waves and seabirds, then wander a few steps to join the Fife Coastal Path or stroll along to one of Fife’s finest seafood restaurants, Craig Millar @ 16 West End – all just moments from your front door. With off-road parking a short distance up from the cottage, arriving and heading out to explore the East Neuk and nearby St Andrews is refreshingly simple.

Inside, the open-plan lounge, dining and kitchen area feels cosy yet airy, with two comfy sofas (one a sofa bed for occasional guests), a gas coal-effect fire, TV with Freeview and soft lighting for relaxed evenings in. The well-equipped kitchen is neatly laid out with hob, oven, cooker hood and dishwasher, plus a small dining table for two positioned to catch the light and partial sea views. A door leads straight out to the enclosed, south-facing patio – perfect for morning coffee, a glass of wine at sunset or a quiet read with the sea in sight.

Upstairs, a charming double bedroom with beamed ceiling makes the most of those wonderful sea views, so you can fall asleep and wake up with the coast as your backdrop. There’s a double bed with bedside tables and lamps, a built-in cupboard with drawers, TV and even an electric blanket for extra comfort on cooler nights. A compact, fully tiled shower room with space-saving enclosure, WC, wash hand basin and heated towel rail completes the first floor. Outside, the enclosed rear patio offers bench seating, table and chairs, plus access to a small shed housing a tabletop freezer. Off-road parking is available about 100 yards from the cottage (guests are asked to park considerately to maintain access to the garage), giving you a practical base for exploring St Monans, the East Neuk villages, St Andrews and nearby coastal golf courses – all with local support and easy, direct booking through our St Andrews-based team.

10/10 Excellent

Peter

Accommodation was satisfactory, clean and well appointed.

Accommodation was comfortable. We were concerned about the front door. It was very sticky and I had to shoulder it to open it from the outside and it was very difficult to open from the inside. My wife could not manage it at all.
