"We spent most of our trip hiking and the cabin was a perfect place to start and end the day. The location is unbeatable, tucked away up in the mountains. Super close to Bartram trail and Cheoah bald. The drive isn’t bad once you get down into the gorge. We stocked up on groceries from an Ingles in Andrews and grilled every night. In the opposite direction there’s a neat outfitters store in Wesser, and Bryson city is nearby as well as the southern edge of the smokies. If you take Waya road south the lake isn’t too far, and I’d definitely suggest hiking Siler bald. The view from the top is beautiful, and it’s not a difficult hike compared to Cheoah Bald. Also from the fire watch tower on Waya Bald you can view both Siler and Cheoah bald, which is pretty cool to see after hiking either of those. Franklin is also close by that area, and I’d suggest walking through the town if you have the chance.Dan and Sheila are very nice and responsive if anything comes up. When we visit Nantahala again, we’ll definitely return to this cabin. "
