Hôtel Richelieu is a beautiful old hotel that was built in the 1860s. It has lots of great amenities, and is in the heart of the activity in Arcachon. The hotel is showing its age a little bit, but it is well maintained, clean, and well-appointed.

Exceptional service. The staff was lovely. The view from our room was amazing. A beautiful location and perfectly settled into a very fancy shopping district. So glad we stumbled along this hotel.

There was construction in the street so no hotel parking was accessible. We had to pay at a public parking 10 min walking from the hotel.

NOT A FREE PARKING!!! Be ready get a letter 2 days before arrival that you have to paid 20Euros for the nearby ( 300 meters ) parking. Or park on the street ,but no more than 2 hours period.

Sir, it always surprising to have people complaining about a communication 48h prior to their arrival which is merely a summary of all the information that are contained on the web site where you booked the room, in the sales conditions and pretty much everywhere our hotel is mentioned. Our parking is limited to ten spots and it is FREE, since we do NOT charge anything for the people who use it. With regards to street side parking please refer your complaint to the city of Arcachon on www.ville-arcachon.fr. Please note that the membership card for the underground car park is 15€ for 24h. We hope this clears the confusion.

A very unpleasant experience
Terrible parking experience & ordered to vacate hotel guest parking whilst taking a cafe coffee 5m from my parked vehicle directly in front; having driven 400km Was told 2 minutes you go !!! This is a no go hotel with reception problems & it shows in the aggressive staff attitude as to telling you what to do. I avoided breakfast & departed early morning yet they still tried to charge breakfast at checkout I would not stay here ever again

Sir, you were parked in a manoeuvring space, You were parked in a manoeuvring space where it is FORBIDDEN to park, this space is reserved for firemen. We told you that you could stay there until you dropped off your luggage, that we could show you places to park. After you had settled in, you went back down and left your car where you were not allowed to. Your car disturbed other guests who also wanted to enter the establishment. We put up signs for you and you tore them down from your car without moving it. You took the liberty of talking across the street to our employees who were only doing their job and trying to satisfy the other customers who were complaining about your car. In the future please show more manners. Furthermore, we would like to thank you for leaving your room in a precarious state and for leaving it to our cleaning service to clean your toilets and bathroom behind you. We would have been entitled to charge you additional fees given the unsanitary state in which you left the room. We reassure you that we do not wish to welcome you in our establishment anymore. We have stayed on all kinds of accommodations on our travels. We can honestly say that this hotel is our favorite on this trip. Our room was ready and AC was on when we checked in 3 hours early. Jessie on the front desk was very welcoming and helpful. Our room has all the touches of a luxury hotel. We seldom recommend hotels but we can say that you get your money’s worth staying here. Location is perfect, you can walk to restaurants and the pier . Our room had a sea view and sunset was amazing. All the staff were very friendly and ready to help. Keep up the good work.

En visite sur Arcachon voici un hotel fort agreable avec vue sur ke bassin en plein centre ville. Le personnel estctres arrangeant et bien sympathique. Il faut juste eviter lrs chambres qui donnent sur la rue. Tres bon buffet pour le petit déjeuner.

The room was clean, with hood amenities, refurbished and modern although a bit quirky - toilet straight onto the room and not in the bathroom - and exiguous entry to the room. The hotel is well located in the center of Arcachon and overlooking the jetty for a sea view room. Unfortunately, the area attracts a lot of young people who decided to party in front of the jetty the whole night long and no one to stop them...

Great location, priced well and close to the beach. Parking is tight and limited but that is not a problem with a small car. Parking available close by for a fee but if you don't mind walking 8 minutes free parking is available in the Parc Mauresque or near the school on Cours Tartas.

Beautiful hotel and great location
We are a family of 4 and had a lovely 1 night stay in the quadruple room. The beds were very comfortable, the room was beautiful and the staff were extremely helpful. The only negative was the parking situation as there are only 10 spaces in the hotel car park (which was small & tricky to access) and Arcachon is a very busy town with limited places to park. However, we were given a ticket by the hotel that allowed us to park for €15 per 24 hours in a nearby multi-storey car park. Having said that the location of the hotel is perfect (right next to the beach) and within easy reach of various shops, cafes and restaurants.

Excellent hotel, fabulous location, great staff
Gorgeous hotel on the seafront and in the hear of town close to shops and restaurants. My sea front view room was very well appointed, with a balcony I could sit on. The bed was super comfortable and it was great to wake up to a view of the beach and sea. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Loved the location right in the heart of the action and it was right next to the beach. The air conditioned room was comfortable and nicely decorated! Wished there was a refrigerator in the room though for the yummy things we found at the farmers market but were not yet ready to eat. But I would stay here again for all the other reasons listed above.

Okay but..
We stayed just one night. The hotel is very nice and conveniently located and the staff are very pleasant. The room was a bit small but for 1 night it was fine. The problem was that we were there on a wet and windy day/night and they have shutters on the outside of the windows which rattle in the wind and are very noisy whether up or down. So no sleep was had because the noise of the shutters kept us awake. No wonder they supply earplugs in the room! Also the bed wasnt very comfortable and seemed to slant down to one side.

Yes, weather, on the atlantic sea front... shocking! Brand new beds in the hotel, uncomfortable because you were kept awake by the wind. Slanting floor, wow was that water you drank at dinner? We are a hotel on the sea front at the heart of a town which is a busy touristic destination with many an entertainment nights during the season, thus the earplugs. You seem more suited for chain international type hotels than family owned private businesses. Please dear anonymous, check the forecast before travelling and although we appreciate the grade you gave us your commentary makes no sense at all.

Nice hotel - but noisy car parkside
Hotel very nice, staff nice comfortable rooms, great position for the seafront and restaurants. However our room overlooked the car park and it was very noisy. There is public motorbike parking on the other side of the fence/wall - they make a terrible noise and like reevin and exclerating of at high speed. I happened to look outside at 3 in morning to see what all the noise was about as there was shouting going only to see two men urinating on our car - thought is best not to tell husband as he would’ve gone mad. If we came again would stay somewhere set back from the front which is quiter.

Make Sure To Book A Seaview Room
My wife and I have been to Arcachon at least a half a dozen times. Never have we ever had a better hotel room in all our visits. Big and comfortable and that oh so fantastic balcony overlooking the basin. See the oyster beds magically appear and disappear with each movement to the tide. Try to get the top floor if you can! You won't regret it. Walking distance to everything Arcachon has to offer.

Freundliches Hotel-leider ohne Bike Garage
Direkt am Strand, ein kleines und freundliches Hotel. Das Frühstück war wunderbar und hat an nichts fehlen lassen. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und mehrsprachig, auch deutsch. Die Parkplätze sind nicht ausreichend, wir hatten jedoch Glück und bekamen noch Hotelparkplätze. Ein absolutes Manko ist, dass das Hotel keine Fahrradgarage hat. Bei den heutigen Preisen für ein gutes E-Bike ist das ein Muss. Hier sollte die nächste Investition des Hotels in einer Bike-Garage liegen, selbst, wenn diese nicht direkt im Hotel untergebracht ist.

Très bon séjour
Nous avons passé un très bon séjour. Le personnel était gentil, accueillant et au petit soin. Le service est nickel. Côté chambre rien à dire. Le literie est confortable, la salle de bain est nickel et moderne tout comme la chambre et il y a de très bons équipements. Le petit déjeuner est vraiment complet, il y en a pour tous les goûts avec un énorme choix tant au niveau sucré que salé, les 17€ valent le coup ! Et l’hôtel qui est à 30m de la plage est un gros plus !
