This hotel was our first one staying in Italy. We frequent France quite a lot, so our European hotel expectations are that we will get a mini fridge to store food and a coffee maker in the room. This hotel does not offer that in their standard double rooms.
We had a view overlooking the lake, and the morning sun is beautiful from this view. It is a smaller than average window, but still gave us a wonderful wake up call. The food is convenient for your first night-and there is no better Argegno Lake view for dinner. But do try the restaurants in the square-they are really good.
This location was perfect for us. We rented a car that was easily parked in their secure hotel parking. And although we didn’t try the ferry, it was a stone’s throw from the hotel.
The hotel shows a lakeside beach chair area, but to get to the water is not for the faint of heart. It’s doable but not something a novice swimmer would attempt. And with the ferry coming in and out, the waves get pretty high when there’s one leaving or coming.
The breakfast was nice-continental with great juices and espresso provided.
One more thing about the room-the bathroom was very small. The room is very large, so would have been nice to have a bathroom that matched. The AC is not great, but it was also 95 degrees in Italy when we went. The mattress is like sleeping on a hard board.
I would give this hotel a 2 star, but bc of the breakfast, I think that’s what warrants a higher score.
