Nice motel in an odd place. It's near Centennial Park and a short walk (uphill) gets one to Peachtree Street and some nice fare there. However, this is downtown Atlanta. Just past Hard Rock and over a couple of blocks is a homeless shelter. Atlanta is a busy city and neighborhoods change quickly; it makes the city unique and also a little risky for outsiders (just like New York, LA, etc.) Well. the AC Hotel is kind of in the middle of all that. The brusqueness required in those situations has definitely rubbed off on some staff. No one helped bring in bags. We had a disabled child in our party and they didn't acknowledge him or offer accommodations. At check-on, one of the staff did tell the man in front of me there were only two rooms left. Then wandered off until the intern could check us in. The bed was decidedly uneven; the wife and I felt like we were sinking into a hole. The floor was very uneven and somehow made the room seem cheap. The toilet seat came loose, another something the missus didn't like. We left 12 hours before checkout; we had enough and moved on at about 10 pm instead of spending another night..
