"When we arrived we received heartfelt apologies that the heating was not working (and autumn chill had just set in). There was however an open fire in the dining room. The meal was acceptable, but not outstanding. I don't know if we were suffering from an end of season situation. There was no offer of any reduction from our bill as a measure of good will."

"The interior has been gone through so dont let the outside fool you. A basic hotel. Clean safe staff was great."
