"We were looking for a last minute room the night before the eclipse, and this was one of the few places still available. The past reviews were definitely a red flag, but we decided to take a chance on this place. It’s an older motel but it was clean enough. I didn’t smell any stale cigarette smoke as others have mentioned, but it does seem they use fragranced cleaners / air fresheners. There wasn’t a cover on the box spring, which had a couple of old stains. That was gross but not a big deal; I had no reason to touch the box spring anyway. I was afraid there would be bugs (based on past reviews), but we did a thorough check and didn’t see any. Phew. The bathroom has its own heater which was quite nice. We didn’t use the pool. Our room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. Overall it was fine for the price!"
