"...das traumhaft schön direkt am Canal du Nivernais liegt. Wir haben die Tage dort sehr genossen. Das Haus wurde von den Eigentümern selbst liebevoll renoviert, restauriert und modernisiert. Wie groß die Leistung der Eigentümer ist, erfasst man erst, wenn man sich das im Haus befindliche Fotobuch ansieht. So sind Haus und Garten sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und gestaltet. Ein gemütliches Wohnzimmer mit einem großen Esstisch, einer gemütlichen Couch und bequemen Sesseln lädt zum Wohlfühlen...

"A spacious and comfortable house in a beautiful and peaceful location overlooking a canal. There is plenty of outdoor space and you can enjoy walks along the canal. The owners, who live next door, are exceptionally kind and helpful. Highly recommended, especially for families."

"The house is located rural, next to a unpaved road en a small stream. It is not luxury but wel equipped and comfortable. It offer a lot value for money. Due to the trees it is relatively cool on hot summer days. In Lormes , which has a nice atmosphere, there are supermarket, several good shops for food and some cafe’s. The surrounding is suited for some shorter day trips and for walking. For cooling down on hot days there is a small lake at a 15 minutes walk from the house"

"Ayant l'habitude de faire des réunions d'amis deux fois par an avec ce groupe, nous avons été agréablement surpris. Tout etait conforme à l'annonce, la location est fonctionnelle, possède suffisamment de couchages et est bien equipée. La piscine etait propre et tout a faot à notre gout"

"We stayed for 5 nights to recuperate on our European tour. Amazing traditional property with lots of space for 5 children, and outside space for dining with use of the BBQ. We loved the outside space and pool to cool off - so much space. Relaxing, calm and tranquil. Fabien was on site if we needed anything. It felt very much like home for us with the animals and greeted by the dog when we came home each day."

"Recently renovated house with incredibly large garden. There was a beautiful church next door. Interestingly, the place is run by the village. The small presents from the local area were also very nice. I would definitely recommend the place!"

"We loved our stay at the house, lovely long garden and super pool (after we asked for it to be cleaned). The outside covered eating and bbq area was perfect. This is a “shabby chic” property with an unpredictable oven and NO air conditioning. But still a lovely family home."

"Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans ce gîte en bordure du canal du nivernais. Le cadre est parfait, au milieu des bois, dans un jardin parfaitement entretenu. Le gîte en lui-même est très bien, petit mais en parfait état, propre et bien équipé. Il y a une grande terrasse avec salon de jardin, transat. Le seul tout petit bémol est qu’il manque une penderie pour pouvoir suspendre des vêtements. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour à la fois dans ce gîte et dans cette région. Le calme et...

"Gîte proposant 3 belles et grandes chambres avec chacune sa salle d’eau et ses toilettes. Les communs dans un autre bâtiment adjacent auquel on accède par l’extérieur sont plus petits mais chaleureux. Le jardin, règne de la biodiversité, offre plusieurs zones de repos ou d’isolement. La maison est ancienne certes mais présente un peu trop de toiles d’araignées à mon goût ! Merci pour l’accueil et la disponibilité de Julie et d’Abel."

The owner made many thoughtful changes when they renovated the house - lights that turn on and off automatically , well appointed and stocked kitchen , comfortable bedding , clean bathrooms , great shower pressure and plumbing , excellent doors and windows - the list goes on and on . The owner , Jacques was kind to answer all our questions pre arrival and Michelle the manager greeted us and cheerfully showed us all the elements of this house. Asnieres Sous Bois...

"We had a lovely stay but it was cut short due to a problem that was unforeseeable. However, the host, Charles, was impeccable and professional. The property is ideally located in a beautiful town, close to nature and wonderful walks. In the summer there is an excellent municipal pool. A range of restaurants, weekly market and a fantastic Antique shop with cafe that is a joy to frequent. The town of Donzy is a place I will return to and this town would make an excellent place to live. A real gem."

"Not to be mistaken for a hotel, this is a self service set of prehistoric rooms, except for the pricing. Cleanliness is subpar, towels are older than my grandmother, and air conditioning is not a technology that has reached this part of the world. I was desperate to get some rest, but good luck doing so in 30 deg C temperature with no air conditioning. Oh and not to forget the noise from the restaurant downstairs right beneath my window. I arrived in the afternoon around 3pm to find the door locked and nobody there but a sign that says call these 2 numbers. First number, voicemail, so i try the second and the voice on the other side of the line instructs me to find the key to my room AND the key to the damn hotel entrance in a secret box. So i do, and I go in only to find the place so dark I have to turn on the flashlight on my phone. With luck I find the light switch to the hallway, but the light is so dim I have to keep the flashlight on. The interior is dilapidated and a reflection of an owner that has given up a very long time ago and now is milking the place for the last few pennies. Disappointing experience."

"We loved the property. Although it’s old in a goed way, it was also very clean. We loved the outdoor areas too. You do have to drive a bit to buy your bread but it’s worth it. Details we loved: there was a bottle of good white wine offered to us, if we had a question, like “where can we buy some good wine”, we got their personal list of vineyards and when we ware all admiring the water wheel, the owner took the effort of removing the top cover so we could enjoy the wheel turning. Lovely people! Also, there was firewood waiting in the fireplace, ready to go and there was charcoal available for the bbq. We hope to visit again."
