"This felt like quite an authentic Japanese experience from another era. The bed was very stiff, which I usually like, but in this case it didn't work for me. The vast common spaces were appreciated and the view was quite magical. I have never walked so far and climbed so many stairs to get to a hotel swimming pool. It was an adventure. The whole place felt like a grand scale hotel experience from the past. The breakfast buffet was really great, and the dinner was also good. There was some unexpected dinner entertainment which was fun. The clientele felt mostly Japanese which made our stay more authentic. I'd be cusious to stay here again outside of the low season, which was the case when we were there. Great location for waterfront promenading and relatively easy access to downtown."
