Monte das Alpenduradas

10/10 Excellent

"Lovely place"

In Portugal, in the Algarve, Pretty Villa in Monchique, With Private Pool,

8/10 Good

"We stayed during September, when temperatures reached the early to mid-30sC.There were a few issues. We found ants on the kitchen work surfaces, so everything had to be kept in the fridge. Insect screens on the windows, and the front door, would be useful. The bed linen wasn't great. White sheets would look much nicer than the coloured, mismatched bedding, which appeared rather tatty. However, the bed was very comfortable. The bedroom air-conditioning unit is noisy, making it difficult to sleep with it switched on. Given the high temperatures, this was a problem. The poolside furniture also needs replacing, as it is worn and some items are broken.A few provisions could be improved. Two bin bags are not enough for a week, while the toilet and kitchen rolls were poor quality. A small welcome pack, perhaps including Monchique water, coffee pods for the machine, and local wine or beer, would be a lovely touch.Despite this, we had a wonderful stay. The house is old, charming and full of character. Kitchen is well equipped. Bathroom shower is excellent. Location is perfect, a few minutes’ drive from Monchique. It is quiet, relaxing and secluded, with outstanding views and a wonderful sense of privacy. The private pool was fabulous and lovely to return to after a day out.We enjoyed evenings on the terrace, barbecuing, stargazing and watching the lizards.Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would return. With a few simple improvements this could be an exceptional place to stay."

In Portugal, Algarve, large villa in Monchique, swimming pool, sauna, Jacuzzi

10/10 Excellent

"This is such a lovely villa in a quiet, beautiful part of Portugal. If you're looking for sleek and modern this won't be for you but if you're looking for rustic charm then you've come to the right place. The villa is quirky and spotlessly clean with a beautiful deep pool and endless fruit-filled gardens. The villa has everything you need and Eulalila was so very helpful. Both coasts are within easy reach by car and there are beautiful walks nearby. We would definitely come back."

Villa Termal Spa Hotel – Villa Termal Spa Resort

8/10 Good

"Finding the reception was a challenge as Google maps brought us to the Spa. Check in was simple and easy with very pleasant staff. We had a lovely stay and the termal spa was delightful, again with helpful and pleasant staff. The grounds of the resort are lovely with a lot of old broadleaf trees. The grounds are in need of a complete clean up and Maintenance. It's a pity because the walk up to the Fonte dos Amores is so lovely and peaceful. Breakfast is Fab with great choice for everyone."

Enigma - Nature & Water Hotel

8/10 Good

"Cet hôtel charme d'emblée par son architecture et son design intérieur particulièrement réussis. Toutefois, le plaisir du séjour est en partie atténué par quelques faiblesses au niveau de l'entretien (ex.: problème de climatisation, lampe non fonctionnel, robinetterie qui mériterait d'être resserrée, présence d'algues dans la piscine, etc.). L'établissement possède un cachet indéniable, mais un suivi plus rigoureux de la maintenance lui permettrait de retrouver tout son standing."
