The hotel is very nice, clean, and attractive.. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The only criticisms are that there was no safe for valuables in the room, and they don’t leave extra rolls of toilet paper, only the roll that was on the dispenser next to the toilet. We asked for an extra roll on the second day of our stay and they were very accommodating.

I enjoy staying at the Residence In. This is my favorite hotel to stay when I visit Bakersfield. The hotel is very comfortable and the staff is very professional. However, there is a suspicious pending charge of $300 on my visa and this issue still has not been resolved by the manager. The receptionists have been very kind to call me back and let me know that they have left a note for their manager and they have apologized for the inconvenience. However, the manager told the staff to tell me that this charge has not been authorized and never bothered to call me back or even explain why this charge happened. My stay did not cost me $300 so I wanted to know where that crazy amount came from. Hopefully I get a call back soon and I’m still waiting for a call back from the manager.

Good afternoon, after looking into your reservation it doesn't appear that you have any charges from the hotel. I do see that your card was authorized for incidentals, the hold has been released on the hotels side it may take 5-10 business days for your bank to release the funds.

We stayed on Feb. 13th-14th in a 1 bedroom suite in Room 101. It appeared to be clean but in the middle of the night we found bed bugs. When we reported it to the staff, the extremely downplayed the situation and offered no kind of resolution to the problem. The customer service here is horrible! From the moment we checked in, the front desk rep was extremely rude, and when we talked to the manager I could tell with her attitude that’s where the employees get it from. Seems like it’s acceptable behavior to be rude at this hotel. Never again. Save your money and book elsewhere.

The location is convenient and there is parking included and plentiful on the property. The room was spacious and clean but with some minor flaws. Free Wi-Fi was of decent speed, sufficient for streaming and video chat. Breakfast was ok with a decent selection, but the orange juice tasted like concentrate and was only palpable when diluted. Staff was overall friendly but a little dismissive: no acknowledgement or greeting in the morning during a multi-day stay and issues raised were not resolved for days. Felt like the bare minimum of maintenance was done. After a rainstorm there was debris around the pool area and even a chair inside the pool which was left unattended for several days. Three parking spots in front of the property were permanently blocked off with cones for "maintenance crews" when they could have been left to patrons instead.

Hotel was great. Looked fairly new. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Our room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was spacious shower could have been scrubbed better but it was clean. Bed was comfy but pillows way too soft for my liking.If we come back to Bakersfield we would definitely stay here.

Great accommodations for business travel
I stayed for a long business trip, so I wanted a place that was apartment like. Their suite with a kitchenette was perfect for my needs. Very modern and accommodating for technology. Most outlets had standard usb ports (not the c usb). Staff is friendly. Many are new and they don’t always have answers to questions, so a bit of patience was required. I had housekeeping refresh my room every few days. The results were inconsistent. Sometimes, used towels were taken without being replaced. Once my kitchen towels were not taken, but moved to on top of my coffee basket where my coffee pods are kept. Coffee pods were sometimes replaced, other times, not. Trash was emptied but fresh trash bags were forgotten. Each time was a surprise. Once they washed my breakfast dishes in my sink. That was unexpected and very nice of them. Anyway, this inconsistency could be resolved with a standard service checklist. Breakfast had more hot food variety than any place I’ve ever stayed. Really enjoyed that.

Top Notch Hotel
My work has me travel around 30% of the year. I stay a lot of places. This hotel is top notch. The layout was conducive to work. The bed was fabulous. I didn’t have to put up with the typical brick pillows. I would like this hotel to travel with me so I can use it on every trip.

We had gotten a 1 bedroom suite. Rooms were great. We did have an issue with our air conditioning on the 3rd day of our stay so the front desk changed our rooms. Kitchen was well stocked. Had all the cooking utensils you need. Full refrigerator but no ice maker. Each floor has an ice machine though. Beds were comfortable. Would stay here again when visiting Bakersfield.
