Stone Cottage, Glencoe, Pet friendly

Ghillie Dhu and Glastig are Aos Sí's most characterful accommodations: two stone cottages with deep roots in the Highland landscape. The thick stone walls, low ceilings, and original features speak of a building that has weathered centuries of Scottish weather while remaining a warm and welcoming home.



Both cottages have been carefully restored and are fully self-catering: private kitchen, living area, bedroom, and bathroom. Everything you need for an independent stay in the Highlands.



In Gaelic mythology, Ghillie Dhu is the leaf-clad guardian of the woods who guides lost wanderers safely through the trees, while Glastig is the Green Lady who protects local herds, aids travellers, and watches over the home. Together, these legendary guardians reflect the ancient, timeless magic where Glencoe's mountain forests meet the water.



The Space:

Stone Cottage



Traditional stone property is made up of two adjoining two-story cottages: Ghillie Dhu and Glastig.



They are connected by an internal door.



Ghillie Dhu (Two levels)

Living & Dining: A cozy downstairs room centred around a fireplace, with soft seating and a dining table for sharing meals.



Kitchen: Fully stocked with everything you need to cook up a storm oven, hob, dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge-freezer, kettle, toaster, plus plenty of pots, pans, cutlery, and wine glasses.



Bedrooms:



Bedroom 1: Comfortable king-size bed.



Bedroom 2: Twin room with 2 single beds.



Bathroom: Features both a standalone full bath and a separate shower, plus toilet and sink.



Glastig (Two levels)

Living & Dining: A warm downstairs living room with its own fireplace to kick back in after a day on the hills.



Kitchen: Fully equipped with an oven, hob, dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge-freezer, toaster, kettle, and all the cooking gear, crockery, and wine glasses you’ll need.



Bedrooms:



Bedroom 1: King-size bed.



Bedroom 2: Flexible setup—we can set this up as 2 single beds or join them into a super-king bed (just let us know what you prefer!).



Bathrooms:



Downstairs Bathroom: Full bath, toilet, and sink (great for a long soak).



Upstairs Bathroom: Walk-in shower, toilet, and sink.



The Garden

Step outside to enjoy the private outdoor garden area. It has fantastic, direct views of the Glencoe mountains—the perfect spot for a morning coffee before heading out on the trails, or a relaxed drink in the evening air.

Local Bus Stop (5-Minute Walk): The nearest bus stops (Glencoe Village / Lorne Drive Road End) are just a short walk away, providing quick local connections around the area.

Ember Bus: Fully electric long-distance express buses (routes E4/E5) stop in Glencoe, providing convenient, eco-friendly travel between Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Fort William.

Scottish Citylink Coaches: Direct long-distance coach routes (including the 914, 915, and 913) run regularly through Glencoe, connecting you directly to Glasgow, Fort William, Edinburgh, and the Isle of Skye.
