It’s the little things that matter most to me and with this one seemed to add up.
Right after purchase we were quickly told that we could only bring our dog if we paid a non-refundable 250 per deposit (per dog). Only after I mentioned bringing our dog did the owner say this (after we had already reserved and paid). Anytime there is a pet deposit it is mentioned and taken care of AT THE TIME OF RESERVATION, so this was a let down as it said it was pet-friendly and there was no mention of a NR pet deposit. Already had a high priced regular cleaning fee too. Said they’d have to steam clean the carpets because of people with allergies (but no mention of bedding, rugs and couches?) Point being : if you’re going to allow dogs there is no way to completely turn a rental back into one safe for a person with a true dog allergy. It just doesn’t work that way. I could see an increased pet fee just in the off chance that a dog made a mess while staying - I get that. But, steam cleaning carpet? That does nothing for allergies. So, we didn’t bring our dog.
The rugs definitely smelled of dog and didn’t appear cleaned. The couch had visible dog hairs on it (just a few and didn’t bother us).
Upon arrival we were thankful we drove the 4Runner and not my Outback. The turn into the parking pad at top of driveway had horrible deep muddy pot holes with very little gravel. Made for a tough turn in and out each time we left even with 4WD.
Considering the time of year it would have been nice to have some salt left for us on or near the stairs going up, as it had been raining and they were covered with ice.
The coffee pot carafe was cracked and when I wrote them they made no offer or gesture to replace for us. So, no coffee pot.
They make big deal about all the cookware? We found just a hodge-pudge of pots and pans with no matching lids, etc. no pizza pan or pizza cutter (really?). Nice dishes I guess and lots of coffee cups that we couldn’t use....so we ate out.
There are no towel racks in bathroom upstairs and no shelves in bathroom for toiletry bag. Never found a hair dryer. Downstairs toilet needs new handle and tank doesn’t fill all the way. Have to play with it. A couple of lightbulbs burned out and we replaced. Told them and they responded not to replace any. Sorry but....Overpriced IMO and way too many air fresheners in walls and drawers. We unplugged a few because we couldn’t stop sneezing. Sorry but, it wasn’t that great of a place....
