About this property
Ridgetop Views on Beech Mountain
Oz Lodge is a spacious 7-bedroom retreat perched at the very top of Beech Mountain, offering breathtaking long-range layered mountain views and an unbeatable location just a five-minute walk to the ski slopes, the popular 5,506' bar, and the iconic Land of Oz walking trail. In the warmer months, Beech Mountain Resort comes alive with mountain biking trails, scenic lift rides, and live music at the outdoor concert stage. With room for up to 22 guests, this home is ideal for large families or groups looking to enjoy a true mountain getaway year-round. *Allows pets with an additional fee paid after booking.
The main level's open floor plan welcomes you with soaring ceilings, a wall of windows framing the panoramic view, and a stacked-stone wood-burning fireplace as the centerpiece. A sprawling sectional invites relaxation, while the state-of-the-art kitchen—complete with a gas stove, premium appliances, and generous counter space—makes hosting effortless. Step onto the deck to savor morning coffee or evening cocktails against a breathtaking backdrop.
For entertainment, the upper-level rec room includes a huge sectional sofa, a TV, beverage chiller, and a shuffleboard table—perfect for après-ski fun. The Rec Room also includes 4 full-size inflatable air mattresses providing flexible sleeping for up to 4 guests. Downstairs, the lower-level family room provides another gathering space with a sectional sofa, wood-burning fireplace, mini wet bar, poker table, and access to a second deck. This lower deck features outdoor seating and a cozy wood-burning fireplace nook, all with the mountain view as a backdrop.
Sleeping arrangements are designed for comfort and flexibility. The main-level master suite includes a king bed, a spa-like bathroom with a custom-tiled shower, soaking tub, and private water room. A queen wing on the same floor offers two queen bedrooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom and a shared sitting area. Upstairs, a loft overlooking the great room serves as a kid-friendly play space with games, a play tent, and bean bag chairs, along with two bunk rooms—each with two custom-built twin-over-twin bunks accommodating up to eight children. On the lower level, two additional queen bedrooms share a full bathroom, and the laundry room is equipped with two modern washer/dryer combos for convenience.
Oz Lodge is dog-friendly for up to two dogs (with an additional fee). Guest may log into personal streaming accounts on any of the 9 tv's throughout the home. There is a Ring Doorbell camera located on the front entrance.
Important Winter Travel Note: Due to its prime location near the slopes, the approach to the home via Oz Road will always be snow-covered in winter and may be icy. Guests must have 4WD, carry tire chains, and be confident driving in winter mountain conditions.
Whether you're here to ski, hike, mountain bike or simply soak up the views, Oz Lodge offers the perfect setting for a memorable Beech Mountain escape.
Must be at least 25 years of age to book.

Offers one of the most stellar views of the NC mountains!House has large kitchen and living room for group gatherings. The bedrooms are strategically tucked off to provide privacy. If you have small children, 10 / 10 recommend this property. The game room and bunk bed system in the kids bedrooms is awesome!House was clean and squared away when we arrived.
This house was not prepared to host guests during the winter with a broken fireplace, multiple broken windows, and no heat which put the safety of our group at risk amid sub-zero temperatures. The lack of a response or resolution from this host left us stranded in a winter storm without heat while snow and ice came in through the windows. This house would not pass a safety inspection and VRBO risks the health and safety of guests by allowing this house to be booked on their site.
