"My husband and I enjoyed our stay in the Pastel Cottage. The listing was accurate and I felt comfortable there, which is saying a lot for me in Memphis. We were able to travel to Mud Island easily so we could visit relatives there. There were lots of little touches which made our stay more enjoyable: a coffee bar with needed supplies and snacks, easy instructions for using Alexa, nice bath mats, and plenty of items like hangers towels, and tissue. The home was clean and spacious. Communication with the owner was easy and quick. Some helpful tips for travelers. If you are a light sleeper, bring a white noise machine or use the free app on your phone or you will hear the highway traffic. This is an older home so there aren’t outlets in the bathroom. There is an extension cord in the bedroom near a full length mirror that is great for use with hair appliances. It was an easy convenient option. All in all, this was a great place to spend a few days. "

"We stayed here for a weekend wedding with our dog and for the most part it was wonderful. The bed was comfortable, the location is extremely convenient (super easy access to U Memphis, parks, Memphis botanic garden, and shopping), and the train that others complained of we only heard once during the day while we were in the dining room, and even then it was not very loud. No impact at all on us during the night. The house is also very nicely decorated, considering its age.The house was clean in all the important places, but some scuffed walls/doors and slightly sticky floors (I think the cleaners use too much soap) needed attention. Also the hand towel bar in the bathroom was broken and the one closet in the bedroom we chose basically unusable due to a broken clothing rod. There were also no towel hooks to hang bath towels to dry in the main bathroom. The house really needs a good deep cleaning (baseboards, ceiling fans, washing walls, etc), but was otherwise very livable.But the primary reason we didn't give five stars was really the kitchen. It's a nice kitchen but so poorly stocked we had to go buy our own frying pan and spatula to make breakfast. All of the cookware is highly scratched and chipped Teflon, which is dangerous to use. If you're staying with more than two people be aware that there were only 3 small glasses besides coffee mugs for cups, and only three forks and one salad fork.A deep clean and a properly stocked kitchen would make this place 5 stars."

"The house was beautiful just as the pictures. The host Mario was alway quick to respond with any questions I may have had. That me me fee safe in the event an emergency arose he was reachable. My family all loved the home. The games, and outdoor area were a very nice as well. The home was close to all of the attractions that we were interested in. I would suggest this host to anyone and would stay hear again in the future. "
