The house was super cute and comfortable, and by far the most well-stocked kitchen we’ve ever experienced! Walking distance to everything and convenient to Acadia.
Nancy and Ronnie have a wonderful house to call home for a week. There was plenty of room for the five of us. We had easy walking access to all of the shops, restaurants, and bars downtown. Driving to Acadia was easy. The kitchen was well appointed. They thought of everything. We highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing and fun Bar Harbor vacation.
Our vacation in Bar Harbor was fantastic! The house was extremely clean with everything we needed, supplied very thoughtfully! Comfy beds! Beautiful decor! The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking including coffee and spices, plus condiments. It is walkable to town and we never had to use the car. We highly recommend this house!
This house was well represented by the pictures in the listing and very comfy for two couples. Owners were very responsive to questions. We cooked in a couple nights, used the grill, and enjoyed cocktails on the deck.
Do note, that while this 3-bedroom sleeps 6, the living room only has comfy seating for 4 to relax after a long day of hiking. The other 2 would need to sit on the bar stools if all 6 wanted to be together to chat. There is seating for 6 in the dining room.
It was about a 10 min walk to the village green where we caught the free Island explorer shuttle bus. There are folks there to help you find the right bus to your destination.
It was also about a 10 min walk to the end of the waterfront Shore Path. You can follow this scenic path right into downtown Bar Harbor.
Truly enjoyed our time here exploring Bar Harbor & Acadia National Park.
We had a wonderful time! The house is well represented in pictures and descriptions and very comfortable for our group of 2 parents and 2 adult children. It was very clean and the kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked with essentials. The location couldn't be more perfect as it was on a quiet street across from a park, and only a 10-15 minute walk to downtown and a 10-15 minute drive to one of the main entrances to the park (Sand Beach); and closer to other entrances. Overall would recommend to anyone and hoping for myself to come back in the future!
2 things to note for others, though they weren't an issue for our group:
1. one of the upstairs bedrooms doesn't have a window unit air conditioner. Our first night there the house had been closed up so it was hot in the room, however we stayed in the middle of July and the first night's temperatures were unusually warm. The remainder of the stay it was very pleasant with the window open.
2. the family room only has seating for 4, so if more than 4 want to sit as a group you would need some to sit at the nearby kitchen counter or bring chairs from the dining room. Likely a non-issue for most but mentioning in case in helps future guests.
Our family of 5, (2 adults, 3 kids aged 15, 13 and 11 years), just finished a 6 night stay here. About 15 min walk to downtown Bar Harbor, short car ride to Acadia National Park entrances (about 10 minutes). Everything was in good working order. It was clean. Enough blankets, towels, etc. Supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, etc. on hand. Two things to know: chair and couch in family room only seats 4 (our youngest sat on floor if we were all in at same time). Also, the only air conditioning is in 1st floor bedroom and master bedroom on 2nd floor. The 3rd bedroom on 2nd floor, only has window and wall mounted fan. It did get pretty stuffy in that room. My oldest child did not mind it. I could have never slept in there. It would have been way too warm for me as 40 something woman. The owners should maybe consider another air conditioner in that room. Despite no air conditioning in main living area, it was comfortable. Washer and dryer in basement worked wonderfully. Keurig in kitchen worked great (no regular coffee pot). A suggestion would be a full length mirror mounted on one of the doors on second floor (my teenager always wanting one). Also, reusable ice packs/cooler for those in for those venturing out on hikes for the day. We had our own, but we drove. Would be useful for those who flew in. We would stay again. Thanks for hosting.
Great location walkable to most of town, short drive to park entrances. Supplied well, plenty of room and very clean. We would definitely stay here again.
The house was beautiful and fully stocked with everything you need. A quick walk into town made it inconvenient and there is so much to enjoy in bar harbor
Home was very clean and comfortable for our family (includes 3 teenage children). Beds comfortable, kitchen sufficiently equipped for meals at home. Great location for walks to town and day trips in Acadia. Would definitely recommend his home to others...
Came to see Acadia and Bar Harbour.House location an easy walk to downtown—0.4miles.House was clean. Well-stocked.All the usual quirkiness of a house built long ag.Very charming.Owner is local. There was gas problem noted by the person who filled the tanks.Owner came over and made sure it was fixed right away.Everything in the house that you would want worked well.Would definitely stay here again.
We had an excellent stay with our family of 4, including a 2 and 8 year old. Amenities: kitchen was well stocked with high quality equipment. TP and PTs provided, very nice towels. Beds very soft as were included linens, AC in 2 of the 3 bedrooms. One BR got a little hot, but our 2yo didn't complain. The washer and dryer were nice as well.Location: As long as you can handle a 10-minute walk, pretty much all of Bar Harbor is accessible on foot. Even better, when you're ready to drive into Acadia, it's just a couple minutes to park loop. Additionally, a local park is just a block away, great for kids. The only issue we had was our 2yo getting into anything in reach, but he calmed down after the first day.Hosts were very kind and responsive.
Perfect location, walking distance to everything in Bar Harbor. Kind of quirky and fun, with lots of eclectic art and decorations in an old house, but it had all the right updates (kitchen and bathrooms) to make it feel like it was contemporary. I was able to do laundry and store bikes in the basement. It was well stocked in the bathrooms and kitchen — while we didn’t end up doing much cooking, the kitchen seemed to have everything you’d need. If you have young kids, beware that the bathroom sinks are high — might need a step stool. Mattresses were comfy, but best for people that like them soft. The owners left us alone, but were readily available if we needed them. Having a great home base made for a fantastic family trip with our teenagers.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this house in Bar Harbor. The house has old charm, but it has been updated with new appliances and is in good condition. It is within close walking distance to the Bar Harbor downtown, yet still isolated enough to be quiet and feel like you're away from it all. We were able to run from the house directly into Acadia NP (to the Jesup Path trail).
Great location as it was so close to Acadia and downtown Bar Harbor while being on a quiet street near fields and a park. We had 4 very hot days during our stay and with the 2 air conditioning units and fans directed correctly, we were able to keep the house cool.
