Although the first impression upon driving up was disappointing. The hotel looks quite different than the wide angle distorted image presented in the Hotels.com listing. Instead, the hotel is located in narrow alley, wedged between other small buildings. This critique melted away the second we approached the door. The receptionist came rushing out, helped unloading the luggage, but more importantly aided my disabled wife to the room instead of first focusing on bureaucracy. That receptionist turned out to be fluent in 4 languages that I witnessed, but probably more. HIs colleagues that I encountered over our week there were each fluent in no less than 3 languages (in addition to Spanish). Our room was perfectly designed to accommodate disabled people without appearing institutional. Being in on the ground flour, we even had a small patio with flowering plants covering the wall. A breakfast room was in the basement that had some daylight. The breakfast buffet was copious. The location in the small alley way turned out to advantageous: no traffic noise. The hotel is just around the corner from Sagrada Familia, and a few minutes to walk from Sant Pau, another Unesco world heritage site. There are 2 accesses to the subway system.
