Our room in Hostel radio was great. The staff and service was really wonderful. The room is very clean and the property is well maintained. Our only concern was the noise level at night outside the hotel from the restaurant and club that are on the adjoining streets. We had easy access to the university area and La Ramblas and we felt safe staying there.

Location is great, close to the Metro and bus services, as well as walking distance to Las Ramblas and Boqueria Market. Neighborhood has a more authentic feel than some of the ones a few streets away.

No-frills but Centrally Located
This is a no-frills hostel that is very centrally located. Staff was very friendly & it was for a last minute stay. Overall, no complaints.

Memorable 4 nights at Hostal Radio, Barcelona
It was amazing 4 nights at Hostal Radio. The workers were extremely friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my 4 nights at Hostal Radio. The location too is excellent. Convienient location
Very convenient location to all tourist sites. Also simple bus ride from airport, even at night with night bus. Important as my flight got in at 2am.

good!! I loved it!
I really liked this hostel. The service was best. staffs were extremely kind and nice. room was clean and spacious but there was no air conditioner. Also, the internet was not available in the room. (only in the lobby) Except the two things, everything was good!!

A very good budget hotel/hostel, good location!
The location is really good. There is a small supermarket right next door and cafés and restaurants nearby, so it is easy to find food. We stayed for two nights in mid-March (temperature about 15 degrees), so the room was a bit cold; take warm pyjamas with you unless you stay in summer. Hotel staff was really friendly, helpful (they gave a map and directions) and most of them spoke fairly good English. The wifi worked pretty well (in the lobby only), there was no curfew, there were two subway stations nearby and the hostel was easy to find (if you have a map with a large enough magnification). The lift is very small, but we were able to put two big suitcases in it. We had a private double room with a private bathroom; the bed was comfortable enough. As a Northern European, the bidet in the bathroom was a new thing for me (don't put toilet paper in the toilet basin). The room and the bathroom were really clean, they changed our towels and cleaned the room after the first night. Placa de Catalunya and the Ramblas are close; you can walk, and the subway takes you there in 5-10 min maximum. The aerobus brings you to Placa Universitat which is only a few blocks away, and you can take it to the airport from Sepulveda-Urgell (maybe 10 min walk) or from Placa Catalunya.

A very "budget" hotel close to Plaza Catalunya
The first room that we were sent to was like a monk's cell with nothing but a bed and tiny window. After requesting something better we were offered a room that was very slightly larger but had a glass door to a Juliette balcony.The bathroom had a persistent unpleasant smell and the fixtures were old and very worn. The wall bracket for the handheld shower was broken. The staff were pleasant and good with local directions but the room was barely tolerable. If we hadn't been offered the balcony room we would have paid the first nigt's rent and gone elsewhere.

Nice spot in excellent location
The Aerobus drops you at Placa Universitat just a few steps away. The rooms are simple but clean and with small juliette balconies; very close to San Juaquim Costa street which is particularly lively on weekends and also very close to the MACBA art museum. I would certainly stay again.

Positives: 1. Bedroom always clean; 2. Good location, close to bakeries, some touristic points and also to the metro station (Universitet); 3. Workers, from people on reception to the cleaner, are very kind and helpful; 4. Good bed; 5. In our room we had quiet nights. Negatives: 1. Towels, despite clean, don't dry well at all; 2. Internet just in the reception area (sometimes also in the 1st and 2nd flor); 3. No breakfest included - this is just a point for improvement because when booking the room we knew that it was not included. 4. Small lift (maximum 2 or 3 persons) so if you are in a group part of them must wait or go by stairs (we were at second floor so no need to use lift); 5. TV in the bedroom - no control of channels. I'd definitely stay there again if necessary.

hard beds lots of noise no air con great staff
The staff here were awesome. Unfortunately this doesn't compensate for the hard beds, of air con and noisy location. It was quite hot in the room so you could either have airflow or noise control but not both at the same time. Also be aware the lift is for one person only so you often have to walk up many flights of stairs.

The room was everything we wanted. The service was very helpful and friendly. The location was great. The room was a bit warm, but I think that's par for the course in Barcelona. The wifi is only in the foyer, which was slightly inconvenient.

Great location for a short break
This is a simple and friendly place where location is key and you have a great base to explore the city from. An easy walk from a trendy area with quirky base and lots of atmosphere and an easy walk to La Rambla and the Gothic Quarter. The rooms are fairly basic but clean and we got an amazing nights sleep as it is so peaceful inside. Great budget place, no issues, 24 hour access.

Simple nofrills hotel with great rate and location
Great location, simple and no frills hotel that just what we asked for. Good rate, walking distance to most tourist attractions in Barcelona. Earned my 5 stars because of the location and price. If you are looking for romantic gateway, this is not for you. However, it is great place if you just need a bed to sleep / showers and spent most of your time visiting Barcelona.

I would recommend this hotel for families travelling on a budget. It's very simple to find the hotel. Walking distance of around 12-15 minutes from Placa de Catalunuya ( the final stop of all buses coming from the airports). Very nice, helpful and polite staff. Rooms are small but clean. The only inconvenience: there are no tables in the rooms/ and wifi only at the reception, but the speed is good.

Great Value For Money
Within walking distance to the Ramblas, this hotel was ideal. Lots of cheap bars nearby selling local beer and fantastic tapas. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to visit Barcelona on a budget!

Great staff, good room and bed. Never ran out Of hot water and had good pressure. Daily clean of room and fresh towels. The only problem we had with the hostal is the walls were paper thin. We could hear foot steps, talking, beds moving, the people outside. EVERYTHING!

Nice hotel, in a really good location.
Staff were very welcoming and late check in wasn't a problem, was in walking distance of La Ramblas and easy to find. The room was basic but was perfect for what we needed.

Location is good, close to metro line 2 which will take you directly to Sagrada Familia. Hostel you can find very easy. We book room with shower and basin only as you don't get a full bathroom. For toilet you have to share it with another room on the same floor. Room Ok but no windows,needs upgrade as some stuff looks like from 90s, no wardrobe. Little bit noisy at night sometimes. Close to Rewal which we find some good restaurants. No problem with safety. For the price you pay you might consider other hostels which are closer to city centre but offer no private bathroom.
