Kentucky's bourbon capital invites you to tour historic distilleries and sample America's native spirit along the famous Bourbon Trail. Stroll the charming city centre where Civil War-era buildings house local shops, and don't miss My Old Kentucky Home State Park's mansion tours.
Loved the tour of My Old Kentucky Home. Bardstown has a very inviting feel. There are many crosswalks in city center and the oncoming traffic went out of the way to stop and make sure pedestrians were safe.

Although the stores were really expensive the winery and distilleries along with war museum were enough to keep us busy.

We were in town for distillery tours. Bardstown is great, but it shuts down early, and be prepared to wait an hour for food once you've ordered at any of the restaurants. We were 0 for 4 on meals lasting less than 2 hours!
"This was a great trip to a great city. The service and food were very good. The rooms very comfortable and unique. The staff made every effort to make us comfortable and meet our needs. Breakfast was served alfresco with other guests. Breakfast was not just typical hotel fare. It was very delicious and a fun experience. "
"Staying at The Old Talbott Tavern is a special treat. The building is very historic, especially the dining room in the 1799 part of the building with the ancient timbers and two gorgeous stone fire places. We split an order of the beef stew. The rooms are very nice, big, and quite comfortable. We stayed in a room in the newer section (only about 100 years old) with windows looking out on the main street and town square. In addition to the nice restaurant, they have the obligatory gift shop and a great old bar with live music and, you guessed it, lots of whiskey. "
"The one and only complaint we have is the lack of comfortable seating. There was one uncomfortable office chair in each room. In the lobby area, we found that furniture very uncomfortable. We used the lobby/dinning room area to visit with friends from out of state."
