Abode Acanthus

Acanto is a charming apartment located within the walls of a 19th-century palace of exceptional artistic value, protected by the Regional Superintendence for Cultural Heritage. The palace’s façade is characterised by pseudo-Corinthian capitals adorned with acanthus leaves, from which the residence takes its name. Entering through the grand entrance with marble columns, you pass through a corridor featuring bas-relief reproductions of patrician villas and arrive at the hexagonal inner courtyard. As you proceed towards the centre of the courtyard, look up and admire the splendour of the columns and arches, which complement the interplay of light and the marble decorations. It will leave you speechless—you can be sure of that! The apartment is located on the ground floor and features a large living room, a well-equipped kitchenette, a master bedroom, a bathroom, a walk-in closet, and an outdoor courtyard. The entire apartment has been recently renovated, and every piece of furniture is brand new.

Acanto is located on the western edge of Murat, a historic area designed during the governorship of Joachim Murat in the Napoleonic era. The Murat district stretches from the train station to the coast, and together with the Old Town, it forms the heart of the city. The classic grid-like layout is home to shops, restaurants, bars, artisan workshops, and supermarkets that can satisfy every kind of desire. Turning onto Via Crisanzio towards the train station, you’ll pass the University of Bari, cross Piazza Umberto, and reach Via Sparano: the street of boutiques and a favourite stroll for Bari’s families. At the end of Via Sparano, you’ll reach the beautiful Corso Vittorio Emanuele, the gateway to Bari Vecchia and the waterfront. Walking down Via Crisanzio in the opposite direction, you’ll enter Libertà, a working-class area rich in local folklore.
