"This was our fourth stay at the Akey House. It is a fine place for a family gathering; we had five adults and two dogs. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch watching deer, listening to birds and coyotes, reading and just relaxing. The house is ideal location for those who wish to canoe, hike, and bicycle. It is modern (kitchen is great) yet retains that old-time feel in the dining room, porch, parlor and bedrooms. Very comfortable for large or small gatherings."

"There were four of us - all friends who really enjoy fly fishing the driftless region. Eric (owner) and his team were great to work with. There was a small issue with the hot tub and they called me ahead of time to give us the head's up. It resolved itself the next day. House is great and there is a large couch and chairs situated around the fireplace. Everything was real easy. Maybe a new coffee maker? :-). That one took about 20 mins to brew the coffee. We will be back. Thanks Eric!"

"Please note! Make sure you bolt and pull the safety latch on the door. Maid service knocked and within seconds opened the door. They are lucky that I had the safety latch on. It looks like there needs to be better communication between the cleaners and front desk regarding who has checked out or not! I’m furious! Beware!"

"The house has lots of room! There is a pellet stove to keep you toasty warm! Guys played pool, made a fire in the fire pit and we did family games in the lower level family room! We all enjoyed watching the Packers play even though it was a loss! The kitchen had plenty of room for us to cook together! The cupboards had pretty much what you needed to cook! Plenty of beds to sleep! This was an enjoyable time for our family! The dog run was a big hit!!!!!"

"The Upper Place Cottage was a wonderful weekend escape. Our pups loved running the trails, and the leaves were at their peak for the season! The house was clean and had everything we needed for a long weekend. The staircase is a bit harrowing, but you get used to it. We would love to come back - especially in the winter to snowshoe or ski the trails."
