"Great place!! Classic “motel” - gotta love the easy drive up to the room. Vince was terrific at check in and recommended several restaurants. We chose The Herring - great fish and chips and a variety of local beers to choose from. Checked out in the morning with more recos for places to stop en route north - Blacks in Harvey - yummy cookies. I’d totally stay at the Picket Fence again. And close to Water st. - either a short walk or a shorter drive so very handy."

One can see that the property needs attention . . . the little fence at the entrance is rotten; the stone figurines have decayed; the asphalt driveway has sunk in a few places, etc.
What is to be admired . . . the incredible variety of trees creating a glorious shade over the property on those hot days . . . it is out of the way and yet just minutes from the main drag ....
