"The room was so nice! Modern updates with cute furniture.lots of pillows and lots of lights! The water pressure for shower was awesome and water got hot.The staff were amazing.we stayed for 5 nights and the staff was in every day to change towels. They allowed us to stow our luggage as we had a late flight out.10/10 and will return! Thank you so much! "

Wyndham Garden San Diego Near SeaWorld
4/10 Poor
"First problem was I didn't get the room I booked which was a king with mobility. Subbed w/two queen room. My biggest critique is that there was no weather stripping on the door. There was a halo around the door from light being able to get through. Which also allows in bugs. The tub stopper didn't fit so I couldn't take a bath for the two days I stayed there. Which I prefer over a shower. The day staff lady (who sits furthest from the door) I had to deal with was overly rude. I didn't get her name because I asked for the manager. He did take care of my request properly. The hot tub was dirty and unsanitary. And that was the whole reason I chose the hotel in the first place.
On a positive note: The evening staff member Frank was very polite and tended to things correctly. "

Best Western Plus Island Palms Hotel & Marina
10/10 Excellent
"Very easy and quick check in, our room was nice size and clean. We wasn’t told about anything that goes on on the property as far as food and entertainment, even though it seemed to be a lot going on. We loved the atmosphere, The view will definitely stay again. There wasn’t any parking on the parking lot. We parked across the street every night, which was convenient for us because our room faced the water. "

Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton San Diego SeaWorld Near Old Town
6/10 Okay
"The hotel location left a little to be desired, located in an industrial area with many homeless not far from it. My biggest shock was the $25/day parking fee."

Catamaran Resort and Spa
10/10 Excellent
"Before I comment on the property, I want to call out the staff. I was moving to the hotel from another property in La Jolla and hoped I could check in a little early. The day manager from Catamaran texted me at 8:30 am and asked when I was likely to arrive. I told them I planned to come early and check my bags. They replied that my room was available and I could chek in as soon as I arrived. I was in my room by 8:45. I was blown away.
Had a lovely view of the water (though it was across the roof of a low building in front of me). Spa services were great (massage was terrific), but the "amenities" were just water and tea. The sauna and steam room were terrific.
Property is charming, but rundown. Think 70's California crossed with tiki bar, but maybe hasn't been updated since then. But room was clean, grounds were very well maintained, and the koi ponds were endlessly entertaining.
Food in restaurants was great. Coffee bar food is lame.
Location was great, Walk out the back door and you are on the bay; walk two blocks the other direction, you are on Mission beach. Lots of small coffee shops nearby, though restaurants for dinner in walking distance were more limited."
